As a Dodgers fan, I can tell you... that team should be playing in the World Series. That much is obvious. Their shortcomings were largely due to the FO not adding any bullpen help at the deadline, having 5 rookies on the playoff roster and (my armchair opinion here) the manager making some questionable bullpen decisions. However, the NL playoff bracket was just a contest to see who would lose to the Astros in the World Series. As for the content of this thread, as long as ol Ricky is managing the Sox, I fully expect the contending White Sox team(s) to bunt their way out of the playoffs.

QFT My parents are both products of the south side. I moved to suburbs when I was 9. Being a Sox fan was as much a part of my life as eating breakfast or doing my homework. I didn't have a choice. With the changes to the trade deadline, etc... did that also change players' eligibility for the post season rosters? Are players getting called up in September eligible?

I really want to watch Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal play on the White Sox this year. But, I also don't want to watch the White Sox FA have to let players walk in 4 or 5 years because they have literally every player on the roster going to arbitration. I can be patient.

If I'm out of line here, feel free to let me know... but short of calling up Andrew Vaughn 2 or 3 years too soon, who the hell else are the Sox going to pencil in for 500 ABs at 1B/DH? Its not like there are examples of clear improvements available for similar "value". ANd before I see another person drop CJ "Captain HBP" Cron, I don't want to hear it. Re-sign the damn guy. But for the love of God, can we please move Yoan to the 3-hole and Abreu to cleanup?

I never understood the analytics on him. He catches pitchers well, but he's not a good defender based solely on watching ~200 dodgers games while he was in LA. Plays in front of the plate, bunts, etc... he's slow to get to the ball. Also, he is one of the slowest baserunners in the game.

But the question then becomes.. does the Tatis Jr trade put Rick Han in league with Steve Phillips for all time worst GMs in the history of baseball?
