  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 01:44 PM) That would certainly make his exit more entertaining They've already traded 2 of the 4 pieces that came back from the Jake Peavy trade. Maybe the next trade involves the other two.
  2. Why are so many posters upset with the trade? The Sox gave up a guy who can't play defense or stay healthy, a guy who throws hard but doesn't know where it is going and a guy fans love because of a couple of highlight catches? For an all-star slugging 3rd baseman who greatly improves the team defense and lineup? That isn't super expensive? I don't get it... This is the best 3rd baseman the Sox have had since 2006 and could possibly be better.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:59 PM) Assuming he's not part of the tanking. He put up a .664 OPS in the 2nd half last year. I wonder if the homerun derby messed up his swing?
  4. Being a minor league signing, that's pretty top shelf. He was a legit contributor in SF when they won the world series. But then again, Chris Widger didn't exactly set the league on fire after 2005/06.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 03:29 PM) Found this place while I was in India on business and bored out of my mind in the hotel room in the evenings. Loved it immediately. Jim Margulus. He's actually a very good writer and journalist, though he doesn't have that "edge" that Cheat had. When SB Nation went "legit" I think a lot of the blogs on their network toned it down a bit. Jim was never edgy, but he did have a little more umph on SoxMachine.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) Guys, having Eaton allows us to have Laroche, don't forget that. #POTW
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 11:52 AM) Except for swinging an invisible bat against Cotts in game 1. Still not sure how he missed those pitches. I honestly have no idea if he did or didn't. I was just joking around. I remember him killing the Sox in that game in 2006 when Iguchi has a crazy game with 9 RBIs or something like that.
  8. I was gonna say.. Hahn strikes again with the former Sox killers. Mike Lamb KILLED us in the 2005 world series.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:51 PM) Things aren't heating up anymore. Chill out, dude.
  10. Best of luck to Jeff in SF. Other than starting a riot with KC early in the season, he wasn't a bad guy.. just sucked a lot.
  11. Why are posters blocking each other? I don't get it. We are all fans of the same sports team. Shouldn't we all, ya know... get along and all that?
  12. I hate picking at old scabs, but wasn't AJ supposed to be a bad defensive catcher? That turned out alright.
  13. Watch it be signing Tyler Flowers to a lesser deal than he was due in arbitration.
  14. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) Hahn saved $300,000 which he can use to ............................................ Get a better haircut??
  15. Eaton seems like he is one of the "young core" guys... which is why they extended him. Trading him would seem to go against what the Sox have stated publically the plan is for building the team. But, stranger things have happened.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 16, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) I don't hate Cub players. Just the fans. Very much yes. And not "all" of them either. I have some very close friends that I've known my whole life that are high on sports right now. More power to them. 2005 was super fun as a Sox fan. And those friends of mine were very complimentary of the Sox in 2005. As much as I hate the stereotypical Cubs fan, and the way the media trips over themselves to embellish the franchise... I am silently rooting for the Cubs just so those aforementioned close friends can experience what we got to experience in 2005. And on a side note, if the Cubs do go on to win the ALCS or even World Series, does that put any pressure on the Sox to maybe rethink things a little? Am I thinking too much?
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) Zobrist is far from a "stiff". From reading you posts the past few months, I often wonder if you have any idea what you're talking about. I think this seals it. Can Rick Hahn just trade for 9 Carlos Quentins and call it an off-season???
  18. In other, somewhat White Sox related / trade deadline news, Jordan Danks got called up by the Phillies today to take Ben Revere's roster spot.
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:35 AM) Morse isn't on the Dodgers , he's on the Marlins .Don't know if the rest is correct. He was on the Marlins. Then the Marlins traded him to LA and the Dodgers DFA'd him before he had time to clean out his locker in Miami.
  20. Justin Sellers is pretty meh.... Dodgers minor league fodder, made the majors 2 seasons ago due to injuries... banished back to minors when MLB players returned.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 01:17 PM) No more trades with Oakland, please, unless it's Butler or Semien for LaRoche. You never know, maybe the OP has predicted the future.... https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/626839516691562496
  22. Avilan is a groundballing lefty that can miss bats - coming off of a down year last year. I was hoping the Sox would go after him. #sadface
  23. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) Sox send Avi, Courtney Hawkins and Montas to Oak for Reddick. This trade would be immediately followed by a press release announcing Rick Hahn's resignation/firing.
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 02:28 PM) If I had to guess, I'd say that Carroll starts a game, then goes back to AAA. Can't. He has to wait 15 days before he can be recalled back to MLB.
