Cain accuses Shark of intentional plunking
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) I understand but we all feel that way when they are with th Cubs. He is our douchebag now though He went to Notre Dame, what do you expect? -
Rodon believes he's ready now
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 8, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) Tony Clark, the players association president, said he will be keeping an eye on guys like Rodon and Kris Bryant and team manipulating their service time, but there is nothing he can do unless there is something in the next contract. The White Sox have five starting pitchers under contract on the major league roster and two viable major league lefities in the bullpen. Tony Clark can look all he wants. Me personally, I'd rather spend April and May in Charlotte as opposed to Chicago. Charlotte is super duper this time of year. -
Can't we all just get along?

Playing an AC/DC song at a baseball game to me (as a Type-A white collar) screams "Trailer Park Trash". It doesn't get my fired up for baseball. It makes me cringe. The sooner they rid themselves of any AC/DC or Aerosmith playing at the park will be a fine day in White Sox history.

Change the game for the sake of statistics, or change the game because of statistics??

White Sox sign Jesse Crain
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Regarding the Sox clearly winning the Peavy trade... Let us not forget the Red Sox won the world series that year and got exactly what they wanted, and were aiming for, out of Peavy. -
How is he wrong? The Sox attendance last season was embarrassing.

Sox Avoid Arbitration with Javy Guerra
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to shysocks's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 05:50 PM) What about Eric Surkamp? Does he not make the team? Likely no with Jennings and Duke in the fold. -
Sox Avoid Arbitration with Javy Guerra
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to shysocks's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 05:48 PM) I like it, his arb was projected to be $1.3 mil. He didn't do bad last year, we could do worse with $900K. Robertson, Petricka, Duke, Putnam, Webb, Guerra, Jennings/Garcia. Guerra bumps out Cleto. I think I read somewhere he had the worst "inherited runners allowed" stat on the team with Zack Putnam having the best on the team, last season. -
Sox Avoid Arbitration with Javy Guerra

I thought he would get more than that... nice deal, Mr Hahn. -
If you could play for 3 teams...

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 11:27 AM) How good are they at cultivating what I do. IE, do they have Don Cooper if I am a pitcher? How about Denver or Dallas if I am hitter? Arlington. -
Jordan Danks DFA, Phillies claim him
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to flavum's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If John Danks and Jordan Danks weren't brothers, no one would give a s*** he was just designated for assignment. But... BJ Suck is still on the 40-man roster, so its a headscratcher. Thanks, Charlie Haeger's Knuckles -
Opening Day '15 - Blackout?
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to My_Sox_Summer's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 06:45 PM) Home Openers are the s***! if you remember 2006, that 2 hour rain delay... and Jim Thome's epic tater into right-center FTW. Made sure to check the Sportscenter highlight for Jon Miller's homer call. -
Would you have done things different?

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 4, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) What if Hahn offered you the position of his special GM counsel on the condition you had to drink from his fart glass for the first few weeks...would you accept? Edit: thanks, stix Everyone has a price. Eleventy Billion. Full no trade clause. Done deal. Thanks, Charlie Haeger's Knuckles -
QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 09:29 AM) Mr Hahn is a baseball demi-god. that is a great sign. too freaking bad i don't live in chi, i would be getting a pack of tickets for next season. sox in "15 Same here. Moved out of state in 2011. First time I've truly wished I was back to go to a Sox game. Will have to plan a trip this summer for sure.

Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would have farted into a wine glass and smelled it. Since, after this offseason, Rick Hahn's farts likely smell like rainbows and fresh cut grass. Thanks, Charlie Haeger's Knuckles -
Should #13 be put back in circulation?
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to flavum's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jan 3, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) Harold Baines sez "Hi!". Wait, what? Harold Baines spoke out loud? He is certainly the exception to the rule, considering that his number was retired by the Sox after being traded to another team. Also, I was pretty young when all that went down. I remember being super mad they traded him, but I don't remember the whole story, including why/how they retired his number. -
Should #13 be put back in circulation?
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to flavum's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am all for Ozzie's number being retired, as that typically singals the player/coach never being active for the team again. -
QUOTE (AlSoxfan @ Dec 26, 2014 -> 06:40 PM) I found it and it is kinda funny Maybe the Sox should hire Bobby Valentine.
-
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 22, 2014 -> 03:19 PM) His ZIPS went from like 9 WAR over the next 3 years (2014-17) to like 4 because of his injury last year. People need to give this guy a chance to string together 500 or more PA in a season. I think he's going to impress this year. He's a hard worker. The White Sox are enamored with him and expect "Star" numbers. That's good enough for me.

Did the sox hit all of their offseason targets
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to RockRaines's topic in Pale Hose Talk
A lot of the things being said of Tyler Flowers and the "catcher's position" were said before the 2005 season about Joe Crede. Would it be out of mind to expect a nice season from Flowers? He's definitely good enough defensively. He has shown flashes of offensive prowess. He just needs to piece together a full season's worth... -
2014 Cubs Catch-All Thread
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to cabiness42's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 02:19 PM) Trying to find it, but in the meantime: http://baltimoresportsandlife.com/baltimor...s/manager-year/ Consider that based on "that stat" Joe Maddon isn't listed in either top-5 but Rick Renteria is...
