  1. Lincecum, 3 pitches, 3 groundouts. #FIRESTEVERSON
  2. He's coming back from major surgery (well, surgeries) so its likely going to take him a while to get back to form after not pitching for close to 2 years. Didn't the Sox say when they signed him that he likely wouldn't start the season in the rotation and they were "hoping he'd be ready by May"? Maybe I'm mistaken (as I often am).
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 02:18 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 50m Big day for #WhiteSox tomorrow on pitching front: Coop hopes to get 4 innings, 60 pitches out of Quintana. Belisario also debuts. I pitty the catcher that will be behind the plate.
  4. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 7, 2014 -> 03:47 PM) Very true. Just one of those guys. He has prolonged periods of 'terrible' so ready yourselves (and the insults).
  5. QUOTE (Dunt @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 03:42 PM) hat he hell happened to Sale? QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) o be hones i doesn' maer a grea deal, i's only Spring raining OMG I love this thread.
  6. QUOTE (AJUribe @ Mar 4, 2014 -> 05:45 PM) The dreaded lead off walk The dreaded Duante Heath....
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2014 -> 04:37 PM) Surkamp getting hit around like a red-headed stepchild. 4-2 tribe now. The good news is, he is "throwing strikes" #shrug
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 28, 2014 -> 09:45 AM) I tried it on the Sox ticket site because I know if I was designing a site I would totally put that in there. Unfortunately the Sox webmaster is not as cool as me. How do we partake in these surveys ewok? Survey's over, right??
  9. In all honesty, Chris Sale makes life without Mark Buehrle a lot easier to endure. Imagine if the Sox had a legit lefthanded hitting catcher that finished in the top-5 in MVP voting... AJ who?
  10. Since the OP asked "Who is your favorite player" and not "Please post a long list of players that no poster will actually read through" I'll stick with one. Clayton Kershaw.
  11. There isn't any tone from the White Sox in this article suggesting they "got a deal" on Sale's contract. Just says that Hahn asked for a "Hershel Walker" return when other GMs asked about Sale. *shrug*
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 20, 2014 -> 11:43 PM) I had a similar issue a year or two ago and sent an email to customer support and they cleared it up no problem. Yes, calling and speaking with a live human helps. I did this very same thing. Cancelling is easy, just need a human to do it.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Feb 19, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) thats a rare kind of fest, but it may be the best fest I believe its called a "blowbang"
  14. Was looking through the Sox 40-man roster to see some of the new players' numbers and noticed that Nieto took #32... which means that either Adam Dunn is no longer on the roster (pipe dream) or he changed his number. Dunn is now #44. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that 32 was taken and it took a few seconds while still in cardiac arrest to find my way down to Adam Dunn's name on the roster.

Did he change it?
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 05:47 PM) If it did, I am sure he had COBRA or some sort of alternate coverage. Didn't he have enough service time in the majors to qualify for the players union "for life" benefits?
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 16, 2014 -> 11:47 AM) I wonder if the Dodgers ever discussed a Sale-esque extension 2-3 years ago with Kershaw or if he was always looking ahead to a big payday. They did and he turned them down. Even before the team's sale.
  18. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 03:47 PM) FWIW Rick Renteria already went out and bought Rosetta Stone Japense after meeting him. https://mobile.twitter.com/GDubCub/status/423913674848231424 But yes a translator is able to come out for mound visits, but let's be real all Japenese kids are taught English in school. So I'm sure he speaks enough to get by. I can't imagine they'd be discussing the merits of drop-D tuning, LCD/Plasma TV tech or even quantum physics. The English vocabulary required during a mound visit is likely very limited. I see it going a little something like this: DC: Does your arm hurt? MT: No. or.... DC: This guy likes fastballs inside. Do NOT throw him a fastball inside. MT: OK. or.... in the case of the Don Cooper we all know and hear on the radio with great regularly.... DC: Stop dicking around and throw strikes! MT: OK.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 12:35 PM) http://gkfb.blogspot.com/2013/01/another-h...-his-mouth.html Motherf***ing win. Ain't nothin' gonna bring Frank down.
  20. This poll's results remind me of "that one person" who downvotes Kate Upton videos on youtube.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) We have found the asshole. Ken Gurnick, Dodgers beat reporter on MLB.com, did not vote for Greg Maddux. In fact, he refuses to vote for any player who happened to play in the PED era. He voted for one player, Jack Morris. Gurnick should not be allowed to ever attend another baseball game in his life. Is this the same Dodgers beat writer that gave Chris Sale his first place Cy Young vote?
  22. I've posted in the 1,016 "We need a catcher" threads that priority ONE for the Sox offense should be to acquire Jason Castro. But I am just a fan. Some of the reading I have done on Castro would suggest that A) he isn't great defensively, B) he can't stay healthy for a full season and might be ticketed for 1B/DH later in his career and C) he will want to go to free agency (limiting his long term value to the team trading for him. Wait, thats 3 things not 2.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 12:28 AM) So how selfish is it for a guy to take a shot at a co-worker and hide, while not giving the guy a chance to explain himself? People don't get promoted by playing fair.
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) Jon Gilmore was seemingly out of professional baseball last year. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=gilmor001jon Yikes... those 2012 stats are horrendous. OK - so we are down to Flowers.
