With Rienzo being Brazilian, he likely has a 4th degree black belt in BJJ. Which likely means anyone charging the mound on him is in deeeeeep s***.

ARod suspended for entire 2014 season
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to Balta1701's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 5, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) One name I would bet money on being juiced played with Frank for a long time. I always "wondered" about Jose Valentin. He was jacked. Without being completely homoerotic... I remember seeing a locker room interview with some Sox player and Ozuna was in the back ground without a shirt on. He was jacked up too. Even before the positive test(s). -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 5, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) Ozuna I believe his positive test and suspension occured after 2005, right? When he was with the Phillies? Was Ozuna in the Mitchell report? -

This might seem a bit crass, considering that a few current White Sox players (Quintana and Flowers, to name a few) have tested positive before, but doesn't it say something for the "organization" that NO White Sox players were involved in the Biogenesis scandal? Granted DLS was named/suspended, but his involvement occured after he was traded to Oakland. -

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) Damn, I HATE it when 3-ways don't make it all the way to the end!! The only thing worse than that is actually having a 3-way - and end up watching the other two go at it for an hour while you stand in the corner trying to butt in... -
Rios, $1M traded to Rangers

They probably are close. They've likely agreed in principal to the player(s) coming back to the Sox and they are now discussing the $$$ to cover Rios. *shrug* -
plus by all accounts, he is a pretty cool guy, too. hard not to root for Jesse Crain on his new team. GO RAYS!!!

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 05:54 PM) Rienzo apparently speaks Spanish. Hmm. Interesting (and good for him). I used to work with Carlson Gracie's interpreter, and he had/has a very interesting accent (ala Minotauro Norgiera) and I asked what language "they spoke" in Brazil. His answer was Portuguese.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 05:48 PM) How about we trade Rios for Pence? And then release him immediately after the trade. All joking aside, this happens to me in every trade I've ever done in The Show. I trade some MLB "face player" for "prospects" and the other team releases the face player. -

2013 and 2014 will likely have the same outcome as 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The White Sox are stuck with Alex Rios, whether the Sox and Sox fans like it or not. What value does he have on the trade market? Sure, he isn't a defensive liability, he runs well and can steal bases, he hits for a decent average and can hit a homer every once in a while. But - he doesnt do anything exceedingly well, has a perceived lax attitude and makes a lot of money this season AND next. There are plenty of fringy replacement-level guys that can be had. Ales Rios isnt a difference-maker and at his salary and the Sox reported trade demands, he needs to be. But, he isn't. We're stuck with him. -

Sunday morning I flew back from Omaha and sat next to two obvious scouts flying to Detroit. It was a red eye, so I assume they were scouting the Royals AAA team? They were both talking about how they don't understand how the team is a buyer. I am assuming the team is the Royals? Also, they spent a good 15 minutes making fun of Dave Cameron and fangraphs for their "bulls*** scouting reports" -

Sox Will Sell; Everyone But Sale and Konerko on Block
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Remember in 2007, the entire roster was up for grabs, but the Sox traded Iguchi and Mackowiak. I doubt a full on gutting of the roster takes place. -
What the Heck Happened to Jurrjens?
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm replied to Noonskadoodle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Heard a good 30 minute analysis on MLB Radio on XM on this very subject during spring training. He has no cartilage in his knee and can't push off the mound. IE: He is done.
