  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Was that considered a save? i think so
  2. Put that motherf***er away SOX WIN!! god its been 2 long lol
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) ptatc, I totally agree with you about changing things up. However, it seems far too often our hitters aren't protecting the runners on high fastballs that make it easy to throw out our runners. I'm a huge fan of hit and runs, and think we have a lot of guys who can excel at it. I agree with this, but then how is it Ozzie's fault?
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) How is complaining about our god awful success rate when stealing stretching for something? As i already stated. When an offense is in a piss poor slump it is important to advance a runner in any way possible. I would rather try too steal second with a 50% success rate(given a decent steal situation) than hope that someone hitting in the low 200s and a singles hitter, hitting for extra bases. Everything the guy does seems to be the wrong way 2 many people. I will tell you what i will keep Ozzie over more than half the other s*** managers out there coaching atm.
  5. Paulie is our ROCK!!!!!! he has not stopped hitting since the season started
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) It's just symbolic of Ozzie's dumbass approach of always trying to have our guys steal with 2 outs in an inning. how can it be a "Dumbass approach" if it is the right one? im just not following the logic. even the radio crew thought it was a good spot to run in(they mentioned it jsut before he was thrown out)... Ozzie has his flaws. Pick one and stop stretching for something stupid like this.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) It's stupid cause they always get caught. Our success rate seems to be below 50% this season. your up by 4 runs and your offense isn't hitting. you tell me how it is stupid to try 2 advance a base runner any way possible?
  8. I was going to say, I do not punch things when i get mad but i have a couple friends that have "call of duty" holes in their basement walls lol. It happens. But no I have no problem with caring, I just think TCQ needs to simmer. Also i have a feeling that these past couple series have created holes in walls .
  9. well this certainly doesn't make me feel batter about the closer role....
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) How hard would it have been to let Santos start the inning to face Jeter? Jeter's had a hard time hitting any decent fastball this year, and didn't have much of a chance vs Santos last night. like i said. Do you want me to find the Buehrle or Danks thread about starting the 9th inning?
  11. yea idk what i would do. Now Santos is out with 1 out and 2 on. If he gets out of this i say the job is his btw.
  12. cmon Thornton i still got faith in ya!!!!! nvm.....
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) I do not support Gavin starting this inning. yea and if he was pulled 5 others would b**** that he should have stayed
  14. God if only mlb the Show was real baseball... I just traded Mark B, Pierre, and gallagher (Arod went down with a torn ACL) for Gardner and Montero....
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) And then flipped his bat at the handicapped kid in the front row... lol this is classic
  16. to quote one of the score folk I hate most Terry Boers' old adage "some people are just baseball stupid" is completely and utterly correct....
  17. Some of the things people say on this board make me wonder how I even built up the tolerance to come on daily.....
  18. on a serious note i just got a chance too see the replay and that was completely uncalled for. I commend Pierzynski for dealing with the issue and would not mind seeing a little chin music if lopez is in the game(force him to hit the deck).
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) It's really not. He still used to throw the slider to try and steal a strike or keep the hitter honest. Thornton's fastball is 2-3 mph slow right now, and he's too down in the zone with it. thanks i thought he had a decent slider in the past but i did not want to look foolish.
  20. whats the deal with Thornton??? someone needs to tell him a closer needs to use more than just his fastball....
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) I remember hearing 75 pitches goal for Peavy just not sure if it was this or next game.. he hit 73 so either way he would have been over 75 with another batter. If i was the Sox i guess i would be this strict aswell.
  22. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) They took Peavy out of the game! I bet he's hurt and will never throw another pitch again!!!!!!!!!! was his pitch limit 70 maybe? i found it weird that they pulled him before the inning was over
