Wow, that was awesome. Had no idea Hector was such a great guy.

Despite his shot last night, Belinelli has been driving me crazy. He was miserable down the stretch in Toronto and was again last night except for the game-winning shot.

First year of really following the World Juniors and it was a really fun tournament to watch. Did anyone else watch the game this morning?
-
Anyone else getting up early to watch the World Juniors? USA plays for gold against Sweden on Saturday after blowing out Canada today.

QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 01:57 AM) I think he gets rated high because of his tools he had when he was drafted. He was VERY raw, but he was extremely athletic. IMO, I don't think Mitchell will ever be a MLB regular. I'm sure he sees time in the majors though as a 4th OF, but I really can't see how anyone can still get excited by him. I really hope he make me eat this post a few years from now, lol. Thanks for the reply and I hope he does too.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) Rather than be sad and depressed about the shooting in CT today, I'd rather feel proud and thankful for the teachers in that school who followed lockdown protocol, distracted the kids with games and stories, and kept away the madness outside the classroom. It's because of them hundreds or children survived and didn't have to experience the horrors surrounding them. That's what I choose to get out of this. Amen.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) Saw a notice on Reuters that Ryan Lanza is NOT the killer; his brother Adam was. Ryan Lanza is in police custody. What a mess.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 09:52 AM) Reasons to not bring back AJ... #1, we have a starting catcher in waiting who is going to be making $500,000 this year. AJ is going to be making at very least 10 X's that. Probably more like 15 to 20 X's that. Flowers also played much better when he got consistent playing time. There is a pretty decent chance that he puts up numbers comparable to AJ, for a much smaller price. #2, Many, many stories about his clubhouse antics #3, instead of spending the money on a position where we already have a young cheap player, we could spend it elsewhere #4, the guy had a career year, at age 35, and it wasn't even really close. All kinds of red flags should be going up, such as regression, was he cheating, etc. #5, the guy is a catcher who has played at least 125 games in every season since 2001. Breakdown could happen any day. #6, If AJ doesn't play every day, will he cause problems? Well, that is a pretty good list of reasons. You thoroughly answered my question there.

How or Why are you NOT a Republican OR a Democrat?
Ross replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
Registered Republican that voted Libertarian last election. My dad is ultraconservative and I was raised a Republican. While I still hold some of their ideas, I have shifted towards the left on civil/social issues while still holding the fiscal side (although that has become a joke in the GOP recently). After reading some great economic/political books, I would definitely identify myself as a Libertarian or Classical Liberal. -
What's wrong with Selig besides that All-Star game awhile back and maybe the disaster in Miami? Power Rankings: 1. Selig 2. Goodell 3. Stern 4. Bettman

Why I love AJ. http://deadspin.com/5930722/aj-pierzynski-...hit-to-his-face Anyway, I don't know why you guys are so adamant against bringing back AJ. I mean, if the Sox can get a decent deal, you don't want a LH bat who is coming off the best year of his career?

Besides their stadium, I admire the Rays franchise. Great trade for them.
-
Shields only has two years on his contract. If I was a Royals fan, I don't know how I would take this, trading a top 10 prospect in baseball, a player that has been hyped up for the past couple of years.
-
Well, I still be down to see Pac vs Mayweather, but it is pretty clear that Mayweather is better. I want to see Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez.
-
I'm really trying to put in a lot more effort into following the prospects and I'm confused why people are so high on Mitchell (top 10 in the organization). Sure he's got speed, but it seems like he has lost a step after the injury. http://baseballprospectnation.com/2012/07/...ed-mitchell-of/ Also, it doesn't look like he hasn't batted his way into the top 10. Last year, he had a line of .237/.358/.420. Also, his K% from last year was above 30%. So am I missing something here or is he just rated high because people believe he has a high ceiling or what?
-
Don't the Reds have Billy Hamilton, like the top leadoff prospect in all of the minors?
-
I don't want to lose De Aza.
-
I remember this one time I had Mizzou in my Final Four and they lost in the first round. Anyway, Iowa vs Iowa State on Friday should be a good game.

espn says the sox are in need of a leadoff hitter
Ross replied to Bubba Philips's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Haha I saw this too on the ticker when I was watching Baseball Tonight yesterday. -
Hopefully his absurdly low K% can help our total inability in stretches to score runs with RISP with less than 2 outs. God that was frustrating.
