QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 09:25 PM) @CST_soxvan Purke optioned. Corresponding move tomorrow. If Davidson comes up and hits, I wonder if he could learn a corner outfield spot? he does have a big arm and is fairly athletic.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) Boy this pitcher has nothing. Hope he's not a big time prospect. You don't like to let youngsters develop do you? They should all be hall of fame quality from the get go! -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) Floyd is hurt. You hate to see this happen to anyone You definitely don't want to see him get hurt. That is not what I was eluding to. I wanted him in there because he is very hitable. -

I like the look of beck. He needs to keep refining his command. But he has very good tools to be a Relief pitcher. Then once he has establishes himself he will get those close calls that are going the other way right now for him. But he has a very good fastball and good secondary pitches. I like him and Ynoa as future guys here. Add in Purdi when he gets here and that is 3 young looking kids that could be very good in the pen. -

I thought Beck finished strong. Showed some nice things. definitely needs to work on his control though. But I think he got squeezed a couple times from the ump. I like the look of Beck in the pen. Just needs experience now. and Frasier definitely didn't help him with his terrible throw. -

QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) Hate to beat a dead horse, but this exactly why I hate the Shields trade. Bench is razor thin - we have nothing to call up. OFers like Coats, and Shuck...Avi. What has this 5-9 hit in the last month? I'd be shocked if it's even .190. They eat $15M to toss Danks, only to toss another $3M on Latos, take on $5M this year for Shields (and another 2/years $22M)....That's $23M THIS YEAR over a #5 that could get something able to hit weight in at least 5 spot for EVERY DAY. Pathetic. Why not bring jacob may up? atleast we would be able to keep eaton in RF and have a very good defensive CF. It's better than shuck or Coats. -

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) I certainly expect them to trade him. To Hahn/Ventura and the rest, OPS .700 from a vet >>>>>> OPS .650 from a young player with room to grow. And trading for Bruce is just the kind of fool move I expect Hahn to make. Not sure what kind of player he'll be, but I've liked what I've seen. To sit him like this amongst this team of stiffs is just ridiculous. I see Colton Wong is now playing CF. That's a concept that's just beyond the grasp of the White Sox. I'd like to see him get more playing time at 2nd. His defense is much better and his bat is just as good. give the young kid the spot. Or we could just trade him and watch him turn into a solid player like simien? -

Bryce Harper and his left handed bat -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) Yeah, they had guys like Zumaya and Rodney, but they rarely all functioned together as a unit...that was Detroit's biggest Achilles' heel over the last decade. Greg Holland didn't have dominant stuff, as well. You don't have to throw the ball through to be effective. Obviously, Herrera throws hard, but guys like Hochevar and Soria don't throw any harder than Albers/Jones/Kahnle/Petricka. revisionist history at its finest.
-
No s*** you two. Obviously you have to be able to more. Who has the best bullpen right now? Yankees. Look at their back 3. The Tigers had a nasty bullpen a couple years ago. Hard throwers. Look at the royals. Big arms.
-
Id like to see more hard throwers in our bullpen. Too many lollipop guys.
-
Would it be possible to sign Cespedes then turn around and sign Parra? Would it be worth it? Obviously melky is the full time DH now. Parra gives us a decent left handed bat and a cannon in LF.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 05:42 PM) With the hole left by my at second, Alexei entrenchment at SS and the numerous players the Sox tried at third its really no wonder. However, the Sox did in fact play Sanchez at SS for one game last year, he started 43 games at SS in 2014 and 51 games in '13 for Charlotte so he is familiar with the position. Sanchez has plenty of range for SS, its his arm strength that is concerning but as a utility he should be fine. He even got action at 3b in the minors.
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 05:31 PM) Sox refuse to play Sanchez on the left side of the infield so it's going to be hard for him to be a UIF. Well he does have experience at SS and 3b. Although most of it in the minors. He's never had the bat to justify playing there full time. But as a utility guy he is fine. And his glove definitely plays there.
-
I don't get the love for Alexi. He has been bad at the plate the last couple years. And hiis fielding has started to slip. Saladino was solid in the field last year. And showed as capable with the bat. Sanchez is the definition of a utility infielder. Move on. Don't be afraid of change.
-
I'm not a real big savy baseball guy,but I had a thought about him. He seems to really struggle in the outfield with taking proper angles, just not natural for him. But he is a very good athlete and has some good twitch to him. He also possesses a strong arm. What are the chances he could switch to 3b? At 24 years old he would seem young enough to be able to handle it. Athletically I think he could learn and be fine also. Body composition wise he isn't any bigger than the panda who plays 3B. And he isn't much bigger than arod either. I don't see his size as such a detriment. Now I'm not saying this should be done or can be done, but rather just thinking out loud.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 07:40 AM) well it is official, the dodgers front office has told puig that he will not be traded ..... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/dodg...-trade-him.html Sometimes teams will do this to gain leverage on teams they are dealing with. Give us more type tactic. Why else make this public so quick. They want to know that team to know they will keep him so pay up.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 01:21 PM) Scott Merkin @scottmerkin · 2h 2 hours ago Today's CWS lineup: Johnson 4, Bonifacio 5, Abreu 3, Cabrera 7, Ramirez 6, Gillaspie 5, Soto 2, Taylor DH, Thompson 9, Danks LHP Is there a new rule in baseball that we can play with 2 3rd baseman? I'm guessing Bonifacio is suppose to be 8.
