There's no guarantee Cease is even good. There's no guarantee Dunning is good. Both of them were spotty. There's no guarantee the sun comes up tomorrow.

Will we be sorry if Lance Lynn is starting game 2 of the playoffs after hopefully Giolito has a good first game? I won't. You know why? Because we'll have a damn good chance of getting to the World Series.
-
Lynn is a far far better pitcher right now.
-
Those are the type of trades your going to have to make to get guys like him under those contracts. Sorry it hurts but too bad. Like I said not all of these guys are going to be spending their careers with the White Sox. We can sacrifice 1 of them to give us a better chance to win a World Series.
-
If the argument is about sending Dunning or Cease especially Cease for Lynn that should be an easy trade. I'm not sure what the Rangers value of Cease is or the White Sox for that matter. But I'm not sure he's going to get a long leash from us either way. Dunning can stay or go.

I'm being ultra sarcastic. He's going to make money this offseason. In any case is he the pitcher we need? We need pitching but in an ideal world he should only be considered when any other option to add a front line guy is exhausted.

Herein lies the problem that's been there the entire time. The guy that makes the most sense for this team to acquire (Yes not a free agent) and everyone is balking about what would be a very reasonable asking price. Time to get out of that thinking. Some of these guys won't be spending their careers on the Chicago White Sox. Hate to break it to you. You have a guy who finished what? 5th in Cy Young voting right? On a cheap contract and is a workhorse. He fits right in at the 2 slot. "Oh god you mean we have to give up something of value to the Rangers for him??!!!!" Yes. Can we take winning seriously please? This is far more realistic than the White Sox shelling about 6-7 years 200+ Million for a top of the rotation pitcher.

Because Q is going to take a year for the same contract as Lynn.

Real Talk - Trading Kopech would be a big time mistake
Baron replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
People on here seem to have no issue punting on years of the window like last year. If a trade comes along and he needs to be in a package for a controllable pitcher they need to let him go. We need pitching ASAP. We could have used someone in the playoffs. -
Not sure why the Reds would want Jeff Hoffman

Need some names to start leaking out

Well not to mention that you don't have to go far in his timeline to find info he's already been wrong about.
-
Ah ok. Thank you. I don't know maybe it's just me but i trust Jimmy on here and not much else. These supposed White Sox insiders going back and forth with a bunch of people isn't even really amusing it's just dumb.
-
I mean come on. If we're going to go down the rabbit hole with the food twitter accounts might as well believe Beggars too lol.
-
Exactly. His defense is actually quite good. Would save us quite a few runs over a full schedule. Also on Lynn having 1 year on his contract. I mean I don't think you'd have to break the bank to resign him either.
-
Was a joke. Jesus lol. That meme pass you by the past few weeks?
-
Stop the count.
-
Come on. What we're really longing for is a butcher in RF like Charlie Blackmon with that albatross of a contract.
-
Except they won't. There's no way in hell they get into that bidding war. In any case I think they acquire Lynn and only him. He makes too much sense and fits perfectly.
-
Their contracts fall right in line with what the White Sox love. Lynn is good and really inexpensive. I think it's fairly obvious the White Sox won't get involved in a bidding war for a starting pitcher on the free agent market.
-
Apparently not. It's a staple around here. Something to be proud of.
-
That's horrible for 50 games lol.
