  2. This thread got linked on the talksox(red sox) forum lol...seems like they expect an overpay
  3. I mean your at the point now where Moncada is probably ready to be brought up and challenged. Cant hide him in AAA until 2019.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:22 PM) It's pretty baron according to longenhagens FV. Would love Chavis though. Well done
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:16 PM) In the 41st round. I thought that was the 41st pick That's what I get for not wearing my glasses
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:12 PM) Let's make a game of it! I'll guess Chavis/Trey Ball Maybe Chandler Sheperd? Looks like he turned down the White Sox when he was drafted in the 2nd round
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:09 PM) Let's all read up on bostons top 30 so we can impress people Probably reading the bottom half is a good idea
  8. He struck out...so get the hugs out of the way and lets do this
  9. I think the only team I would have been surprised to see make a deal for Q was the Astros. Jeff Luhnow hoards his prospects and I think they are the team that Hahn was referring to as being named alot but didnt try that hard to get him.
  10. Hey guys....I like this alot...was a nice surprise to hear the trade on the radio as I was going to a job site. Nothing more needs to be said on the haul. It's fantastic and Hahn has done a excellent job so far. He got the package he wanted in the perfect window to trade Q. That guy with the Pirates twitter account always sounds salty...so that's fairly normal for him.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 07:31 PM) K0na fell off the planet after the last trade he broke(Peavy?) I think it brought some unwanted fame and probably put a little heat on his source I thought it was the Edwin Jackson trade
  12. So I should take off work tomorrow right?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 06:28 PM) https://mobile.twitter.com/CarasikS I can vouch for Scott. He's been on a football forum that I frequent. He has quite a few connections in the Atlanta community.
  14. Teams loaded with prospects...has me giddy
  15. Engel just swinging away...cool
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 02:12 PM) And a thin staff as it is. Come to Papa Hahn, Rizzo...he'll make it all better. I think if Rizzo had his way this would already be a done deal
  17. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 01:51 PM) And again I'm not trying to argue. I hope you're right. I just believe we all may be let down by the return Maybe but I'm not expecting that big of a let down. That would be awful by most standards.
  18. There's not enough depth in the system to consider that right now. It's the perfect time to trade him now. Lots of players in the market for pitching. I dont think you'll get a better window until next trade deadline.
  19. I'm on the under slot wagon now...this draft blows
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 31, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) First of all, I was one of the largest proponents of acknowledging that risk, which is why I kept posting about the price increasing come the deadline as compared to this offseason. Secondly, some of the posters literally began their posts with "I hate that I was right about this." Umm, gloating. Irregardless of just how likely this kind of a dropoff was, I don't think it was anywhere near justifying taking a package that was significantly substandard just because you didn't want to carry the risk. As far as I'm aware I'm only one poster. Not "some". Also can we stick to one criteria please? Apparently we're not allowed to think that Hahn is asking for too much. But for some reason your allowed to automatically assume the package was substandard.
  21. The best path forward is hope he improves and trade him at the deadline. Done.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 31, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) We can never know for sure. All we know is the rumors that leaked out, and many of those involved teams saying their top prospects were off the table. Doubtful that those offers, if indeed those were the best offers, wouldn't be available down the road. They might not be. I think if they wait for this offseason they may have to start from scratch.
  23. The problem is what does he mean by not acceptable? Not a complete overpay or fair market value? I have a feeling and it's been said before that he wanted a complete overpay. Look at the free agent list next offseason. You think that's going to change? Lets just say he continues to struggle and doesnt get traded this deadline. His market is going to move at a snails pace this offseason if it moves at all. Chances of him getting traded this offseason I think are slim to none. Even closer to none if he continues to play like this.
