  1. Garcia is just the bane of my existence. He's everything you dont want in a baseball player. He's value is never going to be anywhere good enough because his defensive value is in the absolute s***ter.
  2. I know it's a rebuild...whats the point of having Garcia in the OF? He's a negative -11-14 run player out there.
  3. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 07:57 PM) Yeah, you might as well generate some major interest. I mean I dont know how much keeping in AAA beyond that will actually help him.
  4. Moncada probably only needs to be down until we get the extra year.
  5. So instead of jets to the next game make them fly in a C-47(DC-3). That'll make them start losing.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 01:40 PM) He has none, needs to have a good few months to regain value. He looks fine so far But I was told Chapman has value so Frazier must...he has none and will have none at the deadline.
  7. Hey if they just dont play at all this year...it'll go by fast
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 11:21 AM) *Cue the gif of the puppy trying to catch the ball.* The most realistic depiction of Avisail Garcia in the outfield. The day he's gone will be the happiest day for me...besides when Flowers went away
  9. Man the defense in the OF is going to be embarrassing
  10. Another year of watching Garcia's fantastic defense in right field. I cant wait.
  11. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 04:51 PM) Dodgers could get involved during the season if they need rotation help? Mid to small market teams tend to cling to prospects more often that larger market clubs, but not always Sox hold the cards having Q under control for 4 more seasons The Pirates rely too heavily on their farm to have the stones to make a big trade for Q...but when it's June or July and your team is right in the the thick of contention, or if you have a starter get hurt then Quintana for 3 1/2 seasons on a reasonable contract appears very attractive Right I'm just counting the Pirates completely out. Plus they just cant give away prospects. It's just gonna take a team like the Dodgers or a team like that for a trade to actually happen. I'm not holding my breath. I still think he's here beyond next offseason.
  12. I dont get it some times. Why dont you guys look at the teams involved? Lets highlight the Pirates and Astros. Do you guys think they operate the same as the Nationals or the Red Sox? Look at the history of Dombrowski and Rizzo. It was the perfect storm for Sale. We may never get there with Q unfortunately and it's up to the Sox then if they want to drop value/ keep him. I'd rather keep him past next offseason if he's still here. You have two teams trying to trade for Q who love their prospects. Maybe it'll change at the deadline. Beyond that the Astros can spend money. The Pirates are content with doing nothing.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 04:33 PM) Let's not go overboard, I don't think Houston's rotation is horrid. If Charlie Morton is your #3 starter your going to have problems.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 04:29 PM) Except money can't buy them a pitcher until next off-season, and didn't buy them a good one this off season. What are you not getting? I understand that. I'm simply saying the clock at whatever value the Sox have is ticking. They cant play hard to get for the duration of his contract if they are indeed trying to trade him. Houston is obviously taking a risk with that horrid rotation. Look who the GM is though. It's obvious what he prefers to spend/trade and it's been that way for years.
  15. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 04:23 PM) Its hard for me to imagine a time when it would be incredibly tough to trade a pitcher of Q's quality and his contract. Even if there are others available, hard to beat the contract with his kind of production. Money is money. Prospects are gold to some of these teams. Houston can spend money which it's obviously that they'd rather do.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) The odds of Tucker/Martes and company flopping are much higher than the odds of Q regressing. That's not what I'm referring to. I think I've made this clear for months it's about the market at some point. The market is going to screw his value.
  17. It's a risk for both sides. Astros trying to stick to their plan and get throught he season with that rotation. White Sox trying to keep his value where it's at. It'll probably be incredibly tough to trade him next offseason.
  18. Charlie Morton is the #3 starter...they'll be back
