  1. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Feb 13, 2017 -> 12:04 AM) there is no pressure in February, or March, or April...July? Sure. Of course, there is also pressure on contenders then too. Which is why I was talking about the trade deadline
  2. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Feb 12, 2017 -> 09:45 PM) LOL. GMs never posture! Look who the GM is and then reassess your comment. I actually agree with Bruce. I wouldnt be surprised if they waited until the deadline then screw it up. I dont see the offers getting any better plus your putting even more pressure on yourself to get rid of him before next offseason.
  3. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 01:26 PM) They have this really attractive woman who works there that does like Facebook live updates (so legit haha). She's a great snapchat follow. Total smokeshow. I'm pretty sure it's against forum policy to not provide a link in that case.
  4. Sears wrong again. What a surprise.
  5. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 05:37 PM) I just saw today's episode of MLB Network's show. I think it replays later. Nightengale was still saying that Jim Crane has 1 more move left in him and that he thinks Q or Gray is on Astros to start the season. So weird. I mean it sounds like Crane wants to make a move. But it all rests on Luhnow giving up the prospects.
  6. Seems like Crane was pretty open. He said they are going after Gray and Q.
  7. Just for reference Peter Bourjos was a +1 last year with CF/RF time with the Phillies. With the Cardinals he was a -4 in CF in 2015.
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 09:41 PM) What was Avi's in 2015? -11 on fangraphs. Bill James had him at -14 I believe.
  9. Eaton had like +21 DRS in RF last year. So that's not surprising.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 1, 2017 -> 03:46 PM) When's last time they did this? Nationals and Sale
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 1, 2017 -> 03:39 PM) Doesnt a leak like this hurt them more than help since it was obvious that they made the s*** up to get another team to budge? I'd say yes
  12. Lunhow hugs all his prospects at night. Good luck with that.
  13. Andy Ibanez will probably be a toolsy/+ defender
  14. I dont think it has anything to do with the Astros. Daniels is an aggressive GM like Dombrowski. That's what it's going to take. So far the Sox have been screwing around with the conservative GMs.
  15. Texas really isnt farm rich...they have some nice prospects. But the guy you want is in the majors right now and it's not Profar.
  16. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jan 29, 2017 -> 03:12 PM) I don't buy it. Just posturing. The Red Sox moved the #1 prospect who was considered untouchable. No prospect is off limits besides the obvious ones - Turner, Bregman, etc. Jeff Luhonow is not Dombrowski
  17. Yeah it doesnt sound like he wants some of these talks to still be lingering on into the season. But some of these teams will probably pack up shop soon.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 11:21 AM) Garfien also said it hasn't been quiet. They get calls every day but nobody has met the price. What the f*** are they asking for? I think what they are probably asking for is "fair". But my theory is the mystic with Sale is not with Q. These teams really like Q but wont give up that type of package for him. It's up to Hahn if he wants to adjust his value but he doesnt have years to do it.
  19. Dan Hayes on the CSN Podcast said something like that yesterday. They normally dont trade guys during/after Soxfest heading into Spring Training. They all pretty much through Jeff Luhnow wasnt posturing as they just want to see what happens in Spring Training with the team. One of the hosts predicted he sticks through the entire season because of the limited market you get during the deadline. Also Chuck Garfien pretty much shared my worries. That between now and the deadline his trade value is at it's highest. After well the price probably drops.
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 05:09 PM) Quintana's value greatly reduces once he has less than three years of control. Hahn does not have two or three years to move him. It's either now, at the trade deadline, or next offseason. After that, you're almost certainly taking a lesser package. It's not even to next offseason. The market next offseason will be slow. Nobody is trading for Q while the free agent market is so robust and probably ongoing through January. Giving up prospects for a pitcher will be a last resort for pitcher needy teams that can afford signing them.
  21. I think De Leon is going to be a number 4 starter when it's all said and done.
  22. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 06:35 PM) TOR potential pitchers always trump second basemen. I'm not high on Jose De Leon at all. Forsythe is a really solid baseball player offensively and defensively with a 2018 option. I think they could have gotten more than the 1-1.
  23. I dont like that deal for the Rays. Think they sold Forsythe a little short.
