  1. Depending on what the other few pieces are the Nationals trade would be a haul. That's how you rebuild the farm system.
  2. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) Joel Sherman tweeted that neither Houston, Washington nor Boston are willing to give the Sox the "anchor player" the Sox are insisting on in a Sale trade. If that's the case then f*** them all...you keep him. Mark Where did you see that? He hasnt tweeted about Sale and any of those teams for 20 hours.
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) "Cold water Scott Merkin" was right all last year when he was the cold water guy and now he's singing a different tune. Didnt say he was wrong Rabbit. Just that he throws the cold water. Not always fun
  4. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) It could be that they won't include Robles in a McCutchen deal but would in a Sale deal. He specifically mentions no Robles in the McCutchen trade but then there's that sentence that I posted. Makes it seem they are trying to keep Turner and Robles then decimate the rest of their farm. It's not possible.
  5. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 12:00 PM) Yeah, maybe if they part with a piece or two from their MLB roster. I found it "Yes, but the Nationals’ continued pursuit indicates that they believe they can get one or both players without conceding Turner or even Robles." https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/nationa...m=.f100706da2f8 They may believe that but it's not going to happen.
  6. There was an article by a Washington Beat Writer that was suggesting they are trying to go after both players without giving up Robles and Turner. I have no idea how that's possible.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) I don't think Cutch has the value that people think. He's not good defensively anymore, wants to play CF, and was a negative WAR player last year. Yep he was almost at -30 in DRS last year
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) Has anyone been consistently right on their predictions this off-season? Out of all the predictions this guy made... 1. Do you think he was actually being serious? 2. Do you think he'll show his face around here again? If you've come to the conclusion like I have that all the answers are no then you'll realize he was a troll.
  9. Interesting but David O'Brien who is a Braves beat writer thinks they might be driving up the price for the Nationals.
  10. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 05:10 PM) Does this take LA out of the Sale talks? Probably. More than likely
  11. Lol wasnt it obvious that this guy was talking out of his butt?
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 12:32 PM) Beltran is a half assed move. They should have ponied up for EE. It was a half assed move and it wasnt cheap either
  13. Astros really need starting pitching.
  14. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) So you'd rather have Shuck as your DH? An old veteran? I'd rather have Charles Tilson playing the OF and whoever at DH. Pick someone off Triple A. Frankly I dont care that he's 25. He's a bad player and projected to continue to be a bad player because there's so many bad indicators. His defense unless severely limited will be bad as always. His offense really tanked last year. He was actually better the previous year. It's a waste of time.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 05:12 PM) Unless we get a lot of guys that are major league ready, he isn't blocking anyone who will be an OF on our next playoff team. Where was that implied at all?
  16. Whats the point of even giving him a shot? Even on a rebuilding team it doesnt make any sense. He's a bad player. Your wasting reps for someone else.
  17. Is Scott Merkin going to be pick him for most improved player 3 years in a row now?
  18. Rick Hahn just has to keep saving face...cant get rid of him.
  19. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) "But we still have Melky!" -Hawk probably. Hawk hates sabermetrics so he can go kick rocks But Melky was -5 in DRS last year...not disastrous...but bad. Eaton basically carried the OF in that statistic.
  20. I just hate getting rid of a very good defensive corner OFer.
  21. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 05:32 PM) Gant and Ellis were on the #Braves' 40-man roster last season, and considered among top 15 prospects in organization. https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/804467224287264772 That's pushing it
