  1. Good news for the team though. They get to stay together as a unit and keep playing garbage baseball until the end of the year.
  2. I mean christ the Padres atleast have a competent front office.
  3. Rick Hahn: 'We had number conversations about every team in baseball but no other deals made sense for long-term competitiveness standpoint' https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/760215176779931649 This sounds exactly like the speech I posted yesterday
  4. This is about as mad as I've been since I had the privilege of hearing Marc Trestman after every game.
  5. Why are people assuming the prices for position players are going to be the same as they are now in the winter? Heard of free agency and less time on our players contracts before?
  6. I mean we can argue all day about why Sale and Q are here. But the real question is why are Frazier and Robertson still here?
  7. We're standing pat guys. Get ready for the the recycled Rick Hahn message.
  8. Time to stand pat. Well done.
  9. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 34s34 seconds ago Jersey City, NJ chisox havent been in talks w/ texas on chris sale in awhile, word is. price is steep but understandable. great, great LHP https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/760111824574578688 Come on Daniels....make my day
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 09:59 PM) Therein lies the problem, however. Their trade value decreases as you wait longer...because those years of control are lessening. Another way to put it if you dont mind me adding on.....What do you think is more likely to happen. The offseason hits and they are immediately traded? Or the process is drawn out even more as teams still find the price high and would rather wait out the free agent market(even though the options are slim) because paying them with money is better than highly valued prospects Then your stuck with those two players and essentially being forced to go for it.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 09:40 PM) This is a really bad post. There is no compromise. THey need a franchise altering haul for Sale and Quintana or it's not worth trading them. Not really a debate. Not sure what is so hard to understand about it either. Oh Christ. Do we have to go over this again? I have zero faith in Rick Hahn. That's what it amounts to. Part of it is it tempts them to go for it again next year.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 05:56 PM) That is an interesting tweet from Merkin... He didnt throw cold water on the though atleast. Sounds like last minute offers may be in play
  13. QUOTE (Policiious @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 05:33 PM) YES. trade Rodon to Oskland for Hill. Ro don is not good enough for this rotation. Once Hill is on board, trade Quintana for 2 quality position players who can hit like Lucroy plus 1. Milwaukee would part with Lucroy for a top line starter. That gives u a Sale Shields Hill rotation with a much stronger lineup with a great receiver. If that does not make the Sox a contender I do not know what will Rodon is 2-8 with a high era, stick a fork in him
  14. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 05:12 PM) Cause he genuinely wants to know. I don't think his sources are talking, honestly. This guy has been all over the map the last few days. Brian is the only one I wait for actual inside news on here.
  15. It's going to be glorious. Standing pat. Robin Ventura getting an extension. Various IF and OF pieces traded for. Talk about high expectations with playoffs in mind and missing them. Then 1 year less on Sale and Q's contracts. What really needs to happen is Hahn needs to be fired and a new GM needs to be brought in to rebuild.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:48 PM) Yeah, that is true, but you can't allow them to dictate what you get for assets like Sale and Quintana just because they are the Red Sox. Who said anything about allowing them to do a trade because they are the Red Sox? I'm more worried about our idiot general manger trying to justify another run at it next year and further delaying this. He's going to try and save his ass.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) Well I just can't take you seriously if that is the case. You've got no business being at the big boy table if you want to play with money from the kiddie table. They are probably perfectly fine with that. They get to bring those prospects up next year and we get to wallow at the .500 line waiting for Sale's contract to expire.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) I think there is a deal there to be made for Quintana without Moncada. But I'm sorry, I just can't have a serious conversation with you if you want Sale and you are trying to claim a prospect is off-limits. See I dont think they are willing to give up either of the two top prospects for Q. I think if you want one of them(Your only getting 1) you need to give up Sale.
  19. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) No Moncada for the White, then no Sale for the Red. It's that simple. Probably. But if they really wanted to get rid of him they would have to compromise which I must say sounds better than keeping both going into the offseason. Hahn trying to keep his job trading for other various bandaids.
  20. I mean if you really want to trade Sale to Boston I'm pretty positive you wont be getting Moncada back in return. I'm not sure they would trade him for anyone.
  21. Ball 8...Ball 12 and Vaughan has walked the bases loaded
  22. whitesoxdave ‏@barstoolWSD 4m4 minutes ago Chicago, IL I am #done talking about the trade deadline until Monday. #done https://twitter.com/barstoolWSD/status/759561310619271168 Lol this guy is something else
  23. http://m.rangers.mlb.com/news/article/1926...deadline-nears/ Just something to keep in mind. Shin-Soo Choo is feeling better.
  24. Andrew Benintendi is still physically with the team in beautiful Binghamton. Indications are it’s just a day off. https://twitter.com/EvanDrellich/status/759523863969538048
