I'm guessing they are going to be selling these right?

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) We don't have assholes here? Oh we definitely do...but it would be dull without them

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) Sorry for the noob question, but what is the difference between WSI and SoxTalk? One has a crap load of assholes on it and then there's this site which does not. But going to avoid that argument again....these new uniforms are nice. I do like how the first comment on the Tweet was a comment about those looking nice on a new RFer lol.

No I dont expect them to do anything before Friday. They do deserve criticism for not doing enough. I'm sure they will get an ear full during Soxfest.

http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/rays/more-on...ilities/2263030 Sox are mentioned at the bottom of the article
-
Why do you keep repeating 45 million caulfield? It doesnt even look like he'll get 3 years let alone 3 years for 15 million per.
-
I dont like Fowler. But there's no way they can go into next season with the OF as currently constructed. If they make zero moves from now until the start of the season the front office deserves to be ridiculed.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 10:21 AM) If they are going to call it an offseason, I agree. But I don't think that is the case. I dont know if it is DA. I just have a sinking feeling that this is it. Maybe they dont want to give up a pick for Fowler or Desmond. Maybe Jackson is asking for too much money. Maybe they still have alot of faith in Garcia and they were only willing to move on from him if they got one of the big 3. All those scenarios have been running through my head. But I think the last one I mentioned is pretty likely.
-
I dont agree with the article on the last place finish but the overall point still stands. It's been an unacceptable offseason so far.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 06:59 PM) ...of zero. Like I said in the thread with that article it is actually pretty generous. He doesnt have near good enough defense or the offense to make up for that deficiency. If you actually argue with Scott he just repeats one year and you'll see.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 05:45 PM) I could see Avi becoming like a .2-.3 WAR player with another hot month. His defense would have to get considerably better to get in the positive.
-
Scott Merkin trying to ring that they are potentially done bell again with his latest article. Also thinks that Garcia is going to surpass his projected WAR next year.
-
That's pretty generous for Garcia
-
Going with the none of above option(not on the pool)
-
QUOTE (SoxSteve @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 03:27 PM) and is a upgrade defensively for sure. just a thought. Actually that's not really true. Markakis isnt good defensively at all.
-
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) I hope he's using all of the free agent talk about the Sox trying to lure one of the big 3 outfielders as motivation. I hope he MASHES next year and makes us forget about Cespedes, Upton and Gordon. He's going to have to hit at a well above average rate to make us forget the absolutely abysmal defense we get from him. Heck Prince Fielder had a good year offensively last year. But it was almost nullified by the garbage defense he plays.
-
I still think he's going to be out there day 1 starting with no real competition. As asinine as it is I think the Front Office still has quite a bit of hope that he's going to be a pretty good player. There's just too many issues in his game and almost no bright spots other than his age.
-
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) He's not a bad defender. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/on-ian-desm...ense-walk-year/ This piece was written very early last season after he turned down $105 mil. His throwing was a bit shaky, but his range makes up for it. So to say he's a "bad" defender is a bit of a stretch. Is he a great defender? Nope. Is he an upgrade from Alexei, defense wise? Probably. Plus according to DRS he's actually a pretty noticeable upgrade to Alexei.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) http://www.tampabay.com/sports/baseball/ra...n-moves/2262481 Sounds like the Rays could be a Debbie downer with regards to the cubs interest in bringing back Fowler, then again so could the Dodgers' suspected interest in Fowler. I remember Bowden said a week ago that he asked the Cubs about Fowler and they wouldnt answer him. He thinks they've definitely moved on.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 12:13 PM) What happens first, Desmond signs or Caulfield returns? Hopefully Desmond signs
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 11:49 PM) It's like the Sox were trolling their fans today having Avi call about tickets. Maybe the Bulls will have Mirotic call tomorrow. The Bulls are another story...players dont give a s*** and Hoiberg looks like he's under water right now.
-
I still think it's only a matter of time before we get a long article on the White Sox page about Avi's potential and how hard he's working. I expect him to start opening day..no platoon.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 11:37 PM) But a rebuild guarantees nothing either. With the Sox history of not developing hitters, I'm not exactly confident they can rebuild an offense from scratch if they traded Abreu and Frazier. I'm sure some will disagree, but the Sox system absolutely sucks after the top 3. You might as well trade Rodon also, as you aren't competing in his cheap years. Yep exactly. I think if it comes to that....Rick Hahn wont be here along with a ton of his staff.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 11:31 PM) Too late for that. No rush to rebuild, all it takes is unloading Sale and you drastically improved your system. Well here's the thing. Just because you start a rebuild doesnt mean that all it takes is 5 years and you'll be right in the playoffs. That's what they are missing. Losing now doesnt guarantee winning in the future.
-
The amount of idiot Sox fans on Twitter getting mad at me for not wanting a rebuild is amazing.
