  1. That isnt going to get any of them. Maybe if you were the only team in the OF market and willing to wait it out for forever. But the White Sox certainly arent. Someone will finally give in and sign one of them.
  2. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 10:19 PM) FWIW I still think as of now the Royals are the team to beat in the ALC. They were completely dominant last year and that was without Gordon, Zobrist and Cueto for most of the year. I also anticipate them to make some moves before the offseason is done. Even if they may have an advantage now they wont in a few years. When most of the talent on their roster becomes free agents. Big hits in 17 and in 18. Right now they've been dormant and are playing hard ball with Alex Gordon because of potential money issues. I dont see them doing much.
  3. Also good news is you can unfollow all those random people who claimed to have sources. Sit back and relax time.
  4. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 11:08 PM) The Spanish wasn't giving me trouble - just the frequency of the damned post. Bots. Yeah they just retweet each other...really annoying. Was the same way last night with some of the Alex Gordon articles.
  5. It's says nothing new. Repeats the White Sox and O's are in the hunt for Cespedes.
  6. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 10:32 PM) Don't worry. Cespedes is happening. Source Because he has
  7. I'm going to see Hateful Eight in a few hours...been nice if something happened right after the movie ends.
  8. I'm guessing Cespedes is just the fall back option if Alex Gordon comes out in a day or two and tells them no.
  9. http://studio.omaha.com/Alex-Gordon-descri...section=omahawh Video for anyone who doesnt want to read the article. Honestly signing Gordon just for the blow up of KC fans on Twitter will be worth it.
  10. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/arti...654e57b745.html Alex Gordon speaks on free agency...nothing really new. But something to read I guess.
  11. Hahn is probably just as impatient as we all are when it comes to moves and being excited...but he's managing a big league club. He cant afford to be impatient.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 02:08 PM) Ahhh, over my head, but that is a funny movie.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) 98 days until Sale vs Gray That's not too long of a wait
  14. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 10:38 AM) A Garcia/Parra platoon in RF would probably be OK offensively, but it would still be a big disappointment if it meant we're not getting one of the Big 3. Defensively it would probably be just as bad as previous years in that position.
  15. QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 06:10 AM) I think that I understood the post. I believe that he is trying to say the we could use a short term upgrade in the outfield, but that Hahn is reluctant to make the kind of long term commitment, for which the players are asking. Perhaps he could have written it more clearly, but it didn't deserve to be characterized as; "didn't make any sense". It seems as though you may have just demonstrated his point, about being severely criticized when posting on this site. It is true that some of us are too quick to try to belittle other posters. It would be so nice to see fellow Sox fans being a bit more civil toward one another. We should note that the posters on this forum are still much more polite than most bloggers on the Internet. Some of the stuff you see is just hard to comprehend. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Oh good lord Lillian. This is the internet. If he cant take criticisim after he contradicts himself then for sure any message board is going to be an issue for him.Cristism is part of making yourself a better poster. If he cant take it then so be it. This forum is extremely civil. Let not act like it isnt.
  16. QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ Dec 27, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) Sorry, signing them to long term contracts like they are asking for is probably not the answer so Rick wants an out because we currently could use their services as they are an upgrade over our current options. Posting on this site is really miserable. Every post is followed by a jerkoff comment. So much for adding something to a stale conversation. Your post didnt make any sense. Your talking about them not being the answer then signing them. Why throw resources in the toilet if your not sold on them? I dont see how standing pat in the outfield is a good thing. Too many issues with Garcia to fix that it's probably extremely likely you'll be looking for his replacement during the deadline assuming your still in the race.
  17. QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ Dec 27, 2015 -> 09:44 PM) Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe says Alex Gordon wants to stay on KC but realizes they won't pay up. He also mentions Upton's market is slow because teams are worried about his effort and lack of passion. At least with Cespedes you don't lose a draft pick, although he might get the most $ and years. I'm beginning to think that none of the big 3 are the answer for our White Sox. I think Rick knows that and is probably pushing for mutual opt out clauses after a few years if he is going to sign any of them. If none are the answer why go through the trouble of signing them? That makes no sense.
  18. He rejected an offer that may have not been made yet? Yeah ok
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) Well, the good news is that this process taking a while isn't hurting the sox at all. Just us. But also enjoy it since after this we are done til march Atleast there's plenty of other sports stuff going on between then. Plus we have lots of highlights to watch now.
  20. Well...I'm going to keep my hopes down like Todd Frazier. Being surprised is much more fun.
  21. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 06:36 PM) Not with a pick attached... If they sign Gordon. Might as well try to get another guy with a pick attached.
  22. My response to that is bleh.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 11:05 PM) I have no problem with any of that. Especially the part where the Royals eat it. They are going to eat it next year anyway. Meet Scott Boras. I'd rather take a player away from them and get the ship to start sinking.
  24. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) I also wonder if Casey Close is using the Sox as leverage against the Royals. Not saying that's the case at all, but I wonder... I'm almost positive that's going on in most negotiations(but that's not to say that they arent willing to accept the White Sox's offer). But the Royals are in a weird place right now. They are about to have a ton of talent hit free agency in 17 and I believe 18 as well.
