  1. I like that Eaton is just as impatient as us lol
  2. Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan 48s49 seconds ago Brett Lawrie vs. Royals 19 times. That should be interesting. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan Heh
  3. Susan Slusser ‏@susanslusser 8s8 seconds ago Lawrie deal sounds done. Susan Slusser ‏@susanslusser 11s11 seconds ago Sounds as if #Athletics will announce Lawrie to #WhiteSox soon. https://twitter.com/susanslusser
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:29 PM) Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 20s21 seconds ago Hahn to Sox fans: "I’m as impatient as any @Whatever may be on Twitter so I get it, but we're not going to do anything to calm the masses." Frankly to leave the Winter meetings with the infield questions still in a complete toss up is a little disappointing. Expected...but disappointing nonetheless
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:18 PM) KW is the Executive Vice President, he is in charge. What about Kenny screams out to you that he isnt trying to call shots or at the very least have a voice in whats going on? He is constantly in the media spouting off like he is very much involved. Where did I say he wasnt involved or doesnt have a voice? My original point had nothing to do with that.
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:02 PM) KW clearly has a lot of say on whats being done and discussed behind the scenes. Just as Theo does with the Cubs. If KW we're in charge I'm willing to bet there would have been a bigger splash than Lawrie. It's Hahn's show. He needs to fix his mess from last year. Hey if he wants to keep up the mantra "we're working" great. But the results better be worth it this year especially.
  7. Still amazes me that some people view Rick Hahn as like the poor puppet in this situation with almost zero power. While Emperor Kenny Williams is manipulating him behind the scenes to do evil acts.
  8. I can just see it now...miss out on Lawrie...then sign Cabrera to play 3rd
  9. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) Oakland is probably just waiting for us to fold to their demands. If it's too much (and it must be if Hahn isn't agreeing) then as Lord Humungous says, just walk away You can run! But you cant hide!
  10. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 11:24 AM) Kenny williams gives zero f***s about prospects. If he wants someone he will burn it all down for them. Do you just keep repeating this until it sticks into our heads like "his name is Robert Paulson" ?
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Even if we're rebuilding that sounds awful I wasnt being serious just FYI A fan from the stands playing 3rd base would be a better option. But seriously some people could make signing Mike Trout sound like a bad idea on here. I swear the amount of negativity must be a gift for some. I bet some people here would be happy with a complete teardown that results in none of the prospects actually working out just so we could stink for the next 20 years.
  12. Meh I say like Mike Olt play it out at 3rd
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 06:43 AM) If the Sox get lawrie then the sox/Royals games should be fun this year. http://www.si.com/mlb/2015/04/19/brett-law...fight-ejections Yeah Herrera telling him he's going to aim for his head next time he sees him...that was classy...god I hate the Royals *edit* Somebody should have told that 6 year old to stay back! She didnt know how unstable Lawrie is....
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:21 AM) As long as he's not violent or dangerous to others, I couldn't care less how big of a douche the guy is if he can play. The supposed king of all douche's was a huge part of 05. Ventura hit him last year and Herrera tried to hit him. Didn't go after either of them.
  15. Here's the good news. He doesn't like the Royals and the Royals don't like him. Should be interesting during the season.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:01 AM) I may be a Neg Nancy but I studied his stats, coupled with his still very-young age and status as a No. 1 draft pick before posting. It's reasonable after such a study to conclude he's the A's version of Avi - a guy probably worth giving up on. I mean, yeah, it's possible he could emerge (former first-round pick Beckham never did) but it's also possible he blows. Yeah if we only have to give up a couple non prospects, but I'm thinking the A's will go for blood and steal some "good" sox players for this bust (so far). Except that he's better than Avi. Avi only has 1 season in the majors so far where he has posted a total value above a replacement player. So that comparison is fairly poor.
  17. and ofcourse the negative nancies come in the thread and make you want to join the crowd in jumping off the bridge. Good lord.
  18. Susan Slusser ‏@susanslusser 5m5 minutes ago The #Athletics are in serious discussions with the #WhiteSox on a Brett Lawrie deal, a big league source tells me. https://twitter.com/susanslusser If this needs to be in other Lawrie thread I apologize
  19. QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:06 PM) He'd help, but he's not the impact guy I would be trading Q for. I don't care much for projections, but he's projected at 1.6 WAR next year. Blair and Swanson made that AZ/ATL trade to me. That's because Fangraphs slashed his offensive projections down to basically nothing. All of those guys made the trade. His value to the team last year was definition of "impact".
  20. QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:54 PM) Isn't Zobrist really the first quality bat to be signed? How many quality major league bats have been traded? Inciarte? Castro? Neither are guys who really fix the offense. The hitting market, which is the market the Sox should be in hasn't even really heated up. Relax people. Well Inciarte last year was a 5.3 war player making 500K....He may not "fix" an offense by himself. But 2.0 offensive WAR and 2.6 defensive war certainly helps any team.
  21. I'm going to keep my expectations low of anything getting done tomorrow before GMs leave Thursday morning.
  22. When I said good for the Diamondbacks...that was way premature. That's a ton for Miller. That should have been used for Jose Fernandez.
  23. My god...good for the Diamondbacks
  24. I actually like Castro on his contract better than Zobrist's right now
