  1. Read somewhere on twitter that Grady Sizemore is at the winter meetings today trying to get clubs interested in him....I know a few on here will be interested to hear that. Will try to dig up the tweet. *found it* Jordan Bastian ‏@MLBastian 1h Former Indians OF Grady Sizemore will be here at Winter Meetings this week to meet with interested teams. https://twitter.com/MLBastian
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 17m White Sox 40-man is now at 38, and that does not factor in Ronald Belisario Trade coming soon.....Belisario still has to come from Venezuela to take his physical incase anybody was wondering
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Adding depth for a trade for Quintana/Santiago? That's what methinks. Oh yes
  4. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 01:36 PM) um... says who? Nobody because he isnt going to be traded Jerry Crasnick ‏@jcrasnick 7m I asked a GM who is in the market for pitching about Chris Sale. "He's not out there,'' the GM said. #whitesox https://twitter.com/jcrasnick
  5. Joel Sherman ‏@Joelsherman1 20s Exec regularly in contact with #whitesox GM Hahn says "we have asked million times about Sale and never felt they would trade him" https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) I'm happy to deal Sale if the price is right. And no, it doesn't have to be some dick measuring contest with the other GM. It just has to make us better Gave me a chuckle when I read this
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 10:34 AM) How would trading one pitcher off a roster of a team that lost 99 games possibly set that team back 5 years? Lets not get carried away. Sale pitches once every 5 days. I wouldn't trade him unless blown away, but all the rebuilders if they did trade him for prospects, would get their wish. The team would still be crappy, but the farm system probably goes to top 10. I'm pretty sure the point was the prospects could bust and then your screwed.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) Or it could set the Sox back about 5 years too. Ding Ding Ding....it could be a massive set back and not only that but Rick Hahn would probably be fired too
  9. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 10:09 AM) I've got a feeling the Sox are going to be pretty active. Sure seems like it
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:32 AM) Not only Hahn, but Kenny Williams and Jerry Reinsdorf. This is a nice diversion while they get actual moves done...hopefully. Sign Uribe and trade for Jose Labaton
  11. Hahn wont be at the meeting until this afternoon apparently....I bet he cant wait to see the crowd of GMs waiting to ask him about Sale
  12. Oh look Jon Morosi pushing another Chris Sale trade rumor article http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/chicago...santiago-120813
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 07:00 AM) Then no. That doesnt mean he is going to get it...he would probably have resigned with the Dodgers already if that is what they were offering
  14. Apparently he is looking for a 3 year deal
  15. The Diamondbacks could empty out their farm system and I would still be wary of trading Sale
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) maybe if you add Holmberg, Eaton, and Bradley. Homberg is part of the Reds now(trade this offseason)....any trade for Sale would include Bradley. Anything less and the phone should be hung up.
  17. I think we'll definitely have another catcher on the roster by the end of the winter meetings
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) So explain me the rules for Tanaka. Maximum bid is 20 million, and whatever teams post that bid, Tanaka gets to choose where to go? I really hope Hahn makes a move for this kid. All the teams that tie in the posting bid will get to fight for his services. So basically any team that wants him will more than likely have to go the max on the posting bid.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 03:13 PM) I see this as nothing towards the Sox. Mariners wouldn't be interested in any of our pitchers unless their calling for Sale. With Price on the market, I would assume Walker and Franklin would be key pieces in that deal. Never liked the idea of trading Walker even for Price
  20. Some insight into why he released http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgersnow/l...y#axzz2mdUBTGu6
  21. Funny thing is I've actually seen a few people praise us for this move...more pen help isnt a bad thing. I must say though(off topic)....Jesse Crain's market is pretty dead.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 10:04 AM) Granderson is an already implied signing Then figure out a way to reacquire Youkillis
  23. Welp cant say I didnt smile a little when I heard the news. Welcome back Paulie.
  24. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) VERY interesting... You'd have to figure Miami is only interested if he was a bargain, thus making you wonder why we didn't get involved further. I remember asking Dan Hayes at the start of free agency if we had interest in him. The answer was lukewarm interest....always wondered why it wasnt more.
  25. Marc Topkin ‏@TBTimes_Rays 1m As of now, anyway, Lobaton is still with #Rays. https://twitter.com/TBTimes_Rays
