  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 07:03 PM) Headed towards being in the bottom 5 in ERA, WHIP and BAA He was going to come completely unraveled at some point. His stuff is AAA level.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 06:55 PM) Please question mine. A rookie 5th starter with an era around 5? Actually...not all that bad. With average to below average pitches....yep sounds like rotation material
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) Coming up to a 5 ERA. Hopefully he's not in the long term plans of this organization. I question anybody's sanity if they look at Axelrod and see the future
  4. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:37 PM) Rangers acquired more pool space from the Marlins. From MLBTR : "Texas started out with a $1.94MM bonus pool, but they increased that figure by reaching an agreement with the Marlins." They are still over it even with the increased figure from the Marlins. They spent roughly 4.4 million.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:55 PM) I'm so f***ing confused with these new draft and signing rules and what not. I don't even want to spend the time to learn either. Whats really happening now is teams are just screwing the system. Teams are collecting more bonus money slots and some teams are going way over their bonus pool because the consequences only impact them for one year. Time for a International Player Draft.4 Cubs are collecting slots with the trades they are doing The Rangers spent roughly 4.4 million in this free agency period when they only had I think it was 1.6 million. They cant spend any next year but the year after they can spend a huge amount of money again.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:05 PM) Paul Sullivan ‏@PWSullivan Marmol trade to Dodgers official. Cubs gets Guerrier. Dodgers also get No. 4 intl signing binus slot. Cubs send Torreyes to Houston. They get the Astros number 2 and 3 international signing bonus slots from that last trade
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) Also keep in mind, if we end up as badly as we have started this season, our next year number will go up big time. Right and this is why some teams are going for broke this year. Their pool would have went down next year.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 12:45 PM) Worth playing devil's advocate: this pretty much hamstrings our ability to bring in much more in international FA, so our entire year of international scouting is pretty much wrapped up in this one player. There is some risk in that. It depends on how much more we want to spend and if they want to risk basically not being able to sign anyone of note next year.
  9. QUOTE (bulokis @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 12:40 PM) do we have any room for another 1 of this signings? Well we could go over the pool like the Rangers did. But you wont be able to sign one over 250K next year I believe.
  10. Well the Rangers just went wayyyyyyyy over their bonus pool amount
  11. Really excited about this signing. Adding another talented bat to the minor league system.
  12. I've seen the Rangers minor league system in action. At AAA Round Rock Profar was the show....Olt was terrible. I do like Perez but otherwise not much impressed me.
  13. What Flowers had going for him that people thought would really separate him from AJ was his defense. His hitting since coming over from Atlanta has been garbage. Good news is he is written off and we can move on to someone else shortly.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 05:52 PM) I'm still waiting for ONE SIGN this season that someone's being held accountable for the results we've seen consistently on the field (or lack thereof). Can you name one? They had a team meeting and additional fielding practice once. Wow. Problem solved. So because there hasnt been drastic action taken yet in the middle of the season means that the people who are getting paid to run this baseball team are just puppets to the Sith Lord Darth Reinsdorf?
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 04:37 PM) He's the CEO, essentially. The buck stops with him, not Hahn. Hahn's seemingly just a puppet unless he proves otherwise. Someone has to step up and lead this team out of the quicksand. Oh ok so its sort of a conspiracy theory that Rick Hahn isnt actually doing what he'd paid to do....got it.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 04:34 PM) Jerry Reinsdorf, are you ignoring all the games this season like the rest of your fanbase? Because that's the only fathomable reason why nothing has been done about this train wreck of a season. Why is it Jerry's problem when he's hired people to run this baseball team?
  17. I got tickets to the Cubs game on the 30th and 31st....one of my favorite times to be at a game. When your team is selling off players.
  18. This team has managed to get me on the sell bandwagon....thats how freakin bad they are.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 04:25 PM) Goodbye, Alexei. It was nice to know you. I love how he just stands their bewildered......July cant come soon enough.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 03:24 PM) 10 back on June 20. Love it. Yeah who doesnt like losing?
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) Just like with De Aza's baseball IQ, it's a mystery what has happened to Tyler's defense. Not qualified to answer that one lol
