  1. It would be really nice if we could score
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2013 -> 07:53 PM) Rosenthal? Yep
  3. There ya go and now everyone bomb Ken's twitter
  4. Hahn also needs to check his head when going over the Kepp signing.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2013 -> 07:44 PM) If Flowers fooled the White Sox, he also fooled a lot of the GMs on this board who insisted he was better than AJP. Apparently he was supposed to make up for his complete lack of offensive game by being a defensive juggernaut......
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2013 -> 07:42 PM) Better though than someone who spends money just to spend money and try to trick the fans/themselves. To think that any team doesnt want to contend is just foolish. As I said before I'm glad your not running any baseball team.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2013 -> 07:39 PM) I've said this before, but the Sox going with Flowers without a legit back-up this season was all the proof I needed that they didn't think they could contend with Detroit. That philosophy is fine, and they're probably not shocked at how bad he is. Whoever decided that this philosophy was fine needs to be fired immediately.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2013 -> 07:36 PM) Flowers has a terrible eye at the plate. Lets put it this way Tyler is just terrible. Hahn needs to go over his position on that. What a horrible mistake he made there.
  9. Christ now the media is picking up on it.
  10. Well lets get the Dunn SO out of the way
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2013 -> 07:12 PM) Must have been when our players went to idiot school this offseason. This coaching staff has been an absolute disgrace so far. I really have no idea what they worked on this offseason.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) Give that until June. If nothing else, Giminez might have some other team that would claim his services if he was available; teams always need warm bodies to fill in when catchers get injured Yep agreed
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ May 5, 2013 -> 03:13 PM) LOL This is the perfect example of why Soxtalk would never have the stomach for a rebuild. Viciedo plays one major league season, hits 25 bombs and 75 RBI, and he is trash. You guys would never have been able to handle the development of the guys you love on KC, many of whom are still not producing 5 years into it and this forum would be a ghost town.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) It would take something going very wrong for Detroit for them not to be the favorite in the division the next few years. I said it the other day, but it's the best team in the AL Central the Sox have had to contend with since the Thome/Manny Indians. The whole rebuilding process would be different if the Sox were 1 or 2 players on offense away from being a powerhouse, but who can you really pencil into the starting lineup with confidence for the 2015 season? There currently are no sure-fire offensive players in the organization for the future. You could have just said yes. That would have cut down on the bull explanation. You know exactly what kind of mentality is. That stance is absolutely laughable.
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 5, 2013 -> 03:08 PM) Don't you think this division has gotten better? at least KC and DET? So that means dont try?
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 5, 2013 -> 03:01 PM) How are they not going to suck for the next couple of years? Unfortunately, it's inevitable. Well lets put it this way. You have no idea of knowing that. Using the "Its too hard" argument is just ridiculous. I bet you no one in baseball management has that mentality. That is a loser mentality that some I see have taken part of. If you wanna watch a full rebuild for god knows how long be my guest.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2013 -> 02:58 PM) Question is, what has to happen for Sox to even contend the next few years with the likes of Detroit and KC? Like it or not, there's just a huge talent gap from Detroit-KC-White Sox. So lets suck for the foreseeable future. God I just hope management doesnt have your attitude. Thats an extreme loser mentality.
  18. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 5, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) Yep. A rebuild is long overdue. Honestly I hate when people say this for the exact reason Balta just pointed out.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) What is Flowers with RISP now? 2-21
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2013 -> 08:28 PM) I am fine with Santiago in the rotation...........I do not miss Floyd at all. Thing with Floyd is he could start off great. But after a hit or two in a row and he just implodes. Its just so predictable.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2013 -> 08:27 PM) Everyone knew his back couldn't hold up though. Yep that was a problem.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2013 -> 08:25 PM) Of course, Eric Chavez is playing well and has stayed healthy so far. Personally...I wanted us to resign Youk.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2013 -> 08:23 PM) People keep talking about his babip, but it's hard to take comfort in that when his outs are so weak. I wonder if he came into camp way out of shape due to his leg injury during the offseason. Thats a very good point
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2013 -> 06:19 PM) One example of this board not being fair to AJ was when those PED rumors popped up last year. Many here wanted them to be true. Said they had to be true. These same people wanted AJ replaced by Flowers, a guy who actually was suspended for PEDs. Those same people also said that we wouldnt miss AJ because of the defensive juggernaut that is Flowers. Plus magic was supposed to kick in and he would stop striking out.
