  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 13, 2013 -> 06:15 PM) I want the Sox to lose 98 games, and I want this to be one of them. Not happy. Good news is the players dont give a **** what you want
  2. yeah Nate scream into your glove because you couldnt get me out if I was at the plate.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 06:08 PM) Haha, yep. I got banned from that site for asking to be banned for lifetime. They had criticized something my best friend had written and I thought they were overreacting. Part of me felt guilty that I had invited him to the site myself and thought he would enjoy it, but he ended up getting "jumped" right away by a posse of about 3-5 for an unpopular opinion about something so seemingly unimportant. I think I was given a one or two week temporary suspension, but I sent a PM to one of the mods and said I no longer wanted to contribute in any way, shape or form and they should stick to patting each other on the back for their "united front" against anyone who dared to go against the status quo or popular group think-based opinion. And that was that. I checked about a month later and sure enough had the lifetime exile/ban. I got a lifetime ban for posting a twitter link about 10 seconds after I posted a trade that had been made. Once their mods form a bad opinion of you then your toast.
  4. They should all be banned for excessive talking
  5. Well thanks Axelrod for holding down the fort. Please go to AAA and never come back again.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) Not a doubt in my mind he'll trade Peavy if he's healthy enough to start a few times before July. Thats also if the package is right. Same goes for Rios.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 06:44 PM) I do believe he'll blow it up and would gladly trade everyone but Sale. Where's this confidence coming that he's not going to trade Peavy, etc? You think he is going to trade Peavy,Danks,Santiago ect ect? Peavy sure there is about a 50/50 chance it happens. I'm going with no on that one. Sounds like he is going with the option that is the most reasonable. Trade some guys in the bullpen...maybe Rios or Peavy. Rebuild the offense in the offseason.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 06:40 PM) Hahn also said a week ago that this team has a run in them and could get back into the race. Don't believe this man I absolutely believe him when he talks about keeping pitching and working on the offense this offseason. Did anyone actually believe he was going to completely blow it up?
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 06:40 PM) Axelrod or Johnson? Well both...but it sounds like itll be a competition between the two
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 06:33 PM) One of the worst starters in the AL. Hopefully he's out of the rotation as soon as E. Johnson is healthy. Hahn mentioned him actually as part of our potential rotation for next year with Santiago,Peavy and Sale
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) Which also could be for show. If he is set on dealing Peavy, letting the other teams know isn't going to help the bids. Might as well let them know you consider him a big part of the future, it will at least cut down on some bulls*** conversations. Very well could be
  12. Axelrod still throwing meatballs....what a surprise
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 06:19 PM) But Hahn is right, build around the pitching. Sale, Santiago, Quintana and Danks in his last 4 starts all have done excellent this year. They just haven't gotten any run support. They haven't even hit arbitration yet and are on and will be on team friendly contracts. The Sox trade a few pieces this year like Peavy, Rios, Alexei, Thornton, Crain, Lindstrom and get some valuable prospects back and the team can be relevant again in a couple years. Then with that money, go after some free agent bats in the upcoming off seasons. 100 percent agree....he did however mention Peavy going forward btw.
  14. Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 3s "The bulk of our struggles this year have been on the offensive side. That’s something we are going to have to improve.'' That isnt happening folks.
  15. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 1m ... the nucleus under control for a while going forward that is going to help us compete." And it goes: https://twitter.com/scottmerkin Sounds like Rick Hahn is ready to sell off the entire team....(sarcasm)
  16. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) So when I posed this suggestion to the board two weeks ago, specifically if you are willing to trade Sale for the right offer, 70% of the board voted no. I like how people are more open to the idea right now, just proves I am not crazy with my idea. Thats not what I got out of reading this thread
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) And unless you do a Sale for Stanton type of trade, you are taking a major step back until those guys are maybe able to step up to their potential. That could be a year, that could be never. Plus what GM is going to give you what you actually want to make this work?
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) if you do it, you send the message that you are rebuilding for the long term, and not the short term, and you have to live with those consequences as a White Sox organization that is still marred by the history of White Flag. There is probably a 5 percent chance that happens.
  19. Even Ken told me that they probably wont go the full rebuild. As for Olt....do people pay attention to how he is playing? I saw him play just the other week.
  20. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) Texas might, they have the $$$ to cover up the lack of prospects. You need a future #1 in the deal plus another A player. I would want to decimate Texas's farm for Sale...thats what it would take for me.
  21. I replied to Ken and told him that this is all under this assumption that the Sox want to do a full rebuild. To which I told him that probably wont happen. He replied yep. So this is all imagination land at this point. Not going to happen.
