  1. George Ofman ‏@georgeofman Here are Kubel's numbers at the cell. 133 AB,.270, 14HR, 41RBI. Triple the ABs and see what you get. https://twitter.com/georgeofman
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) The absolute best scenario I see in any acquisition with Kubel involved is if we send Floyd to Arizona and get Kubel back. Then we platoon Kubel with Viciedo. Viciedo mashes lefties, Kubel mashes righties. That could be an awesome platoon. I can handle Kubel in two out of every three games in left field. But if Kubel replaces Rios, I'm going to puke. Yeah your scenario works out pretty well actually. Dont see that happening though.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) I think a lot of people on this board absolutely despise Jason Kubel. But that's beside the point. One, you're talking about acquiring another guy who is basically a DH. We already have 1.5 of those in Dunn and Konerko. Two, if you plan on playing him in the outfield, he better be 2008 Carlos Quentin, because he is straight up bad in the OF. Three, he'll never be 2008 Carlos Quentin because he's got a career OPS under .800. His last season was also incredibly inconsistent and he didn't hit all that well on the road. Not to mention he's more or less a platoon player with how well he hits righties vs. lefties. Jason Kubel doesn't make this team better if he's replacing Alex Rios (he makes it a lot worse in fact) and he doesn't even make it better by replacing Dayan Viciedo. Unless he can play 3B and play 3B well (or catcher), he's not a good acquisition for this team. I think he would be replacing Rios. Your options are limited when it comes to LH bats.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) No. I f***ing hate that guy. Plus he's not that good. 1. Who cares? 2. Thats not true
  5. Yeah I thought about Kubel immediately after Ross signed. Sounds like a plan.
  6. Didnt see this posted anywhere DKnobler ‏@DKnobler White Sox are looking around for a left-handed hitter. Also have let it be known (again) that Gavin Floyd is available. https://twitter.com/DKnobler
  7. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) Ok...I'll play your (stupid) sematics game, who do you think is a BETTER BASEBALL PLAYER, John Danks or Victor Martinez? Russell Wilson
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:44 AM) Actually id take Pablo Sandoval
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:19 AM) Baron, what should I preface my comments with? Stop speaking with certainty. It annoys the crap out of me.
  10. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:00 AM) All due respect Baron, you don't have to be a genius to realize the Sox would like to shed salary. I think if someone called and said they wanted to take Danks off their hands, I have a strong feeling they'd listen. That doesnt mean you know anything for a fact. That's called an assumption. You know what they say about those right?
  11. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 09:50 AM) They want to shed salary, but nobody wants to take on Thornton's. Do you think they could get more for Veal or Thornton in a deal right now? Please for the love of God do not tell anyone what the organization wants. You dont have the slightest clue.
  12. Hopefully we get some movement tomorrow
  13. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) white sox are about the future and not about now. How about both?
  14. What we need to use money on is a LH bat.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:13 PM) A potential starter at catcher in MLB at some point. Flowers is not one, or at least not a decent one. Then no
  16. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:05 PM) *You're Sorry, pet peeve. Thanks for wasting a post on that.
  17. Crap load of right handed bats at the bottom of the lineup
  18. http://hufffreehiphop.com/lance-barrett-to...ff-again-video/ Im going to miss this "Your ****ing brutal!"
  19. Thanks AJ for 2005 and the many years after. Always will be one of my favorite players in the league.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) Miguel Olivo, Kelly Shoppach That's, like, it. Im fine with Olivo
  21. All I can say to Hahn is we need to get a veteran backup in here.If we go into the season with Flowers and Gimenez as catchers Im going to puke.
  22. QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 04:32 PM) Looks like he's heading to Texas. ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Sources: Pierzynski, #Rangers closing in on one-year contract. Deal will be pending a physical, not yet done. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/281888421138534400 Welp lets find out what Flower's is made of. Either were going to have a hole or a good catcher for a while.
  23. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 12:19 PM) out of curiosity, who anointed you the messenger? himself
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) Don't forget, Marty is the guy who said the entire season the Sox had no chance, they need to rebuild. Now he's blaming it all on Viciedo. He needs some help. Alot of help
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) There was an article where some of his teammates (who supposedly hate him) said there was zero chance AJ was on the juice. Supposedly, he is afraid to take any supplements. AJ is a big strong guy. He altered his approach. A little less contact, more home runs. I think a 1 percent chance is a pretty good number to put on it.
