  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) its only the 6th and I'm already tanked. I was getting there but I ran out of the punch in my fruit punch.
  2. Can someone run out to the store and get me another bottle of Vodka? I need a refill. Its going to a long night.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) Give me a bat. I wanna bat. Sit down and have a cup of coffee.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) This game may be a laugher by the end of this half inning. We just suck. We truly suck. Calm down already
  5. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:12 PM) I think your first point is fair. But I would say, and I could very well be myopic here, that he's regressed as the season has went along. That very well could be a factor of the division race, but it's very frustrating. Well the point is that I am willing to give him the time to improve or regress. I have no loyalties towards a manager. But I am willing to give him the time to show how he can help or potentially hurt this ball club.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) As I said earlier (and was saving for an end of year recap on Ventura), the fundamentals that he's brought to the team are severely underrated. I'm interested in looking at the stats for SB/CS for and against the Sox, as well as other stats. I do wonder if maybe it's time for Cooper to go elsewhere and let the manager actually manage? Im not sure on the last part.....thats up to management on that one. As far as Robin goes I am happy just by the fact the guy isnt causing all sorts of up roar with the media. Its been a pretty pleasant season.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) And that's by far the biggest issue I've had with Ventura the last month. He's managing so much different than he was for the majority of the season. But see he can build off this which I think is a pretty exciting prospect. I think it was a pretty good hire just looking at this season alone. But with experience it should hopefully get much better.
  8. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) People dont realize that Robin may have saved the White Sox from a serious multi-year rebuild. They just want to b**** about his failure. As much as I agree....that goes for a lot of managers. Trust me if we would have went the way of the Cubs I would have said **** it a long time ago.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) The problem is that on paper, our pitching staff really looks bad next season w/out Peavy. I mean really really bad. Laughably bad. Considering our recent history in free agency and lack of good pitchers out there anyway, next year could be one of the worst seasons we've experienced in a long long time. Ill let Kenny and Rick figure that one out greg. I think money talks and if we make a good impression on some of the guys that can go a long way.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) I agree with what your saying, but this swoon hurts because we only make the playoffs once every 4 years and I don't want to wait another year to see if we can do this again with new pieces next year. Trust me I am not the poster child for patience. If this team went through a full rebuild I wouldnt be nearly as active as I am now. I do not like losing and I do not like waiting for them to get better. I want results now. But I can see the issues right now with this team. I think maybe with Kenny getting some more money this team can really take ahold of this division. Im not impressed with the Tigers.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) Nice assumption there tough guy What did I assume there? Pretty sure all of that is happening right now.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) Baron, question for you (since you know I respect your opinion): how would you evaluate what's going on with the Sox the last few weeks? Seems like this team is completely worn out which is why I wont be that unhappy if we dont make the playoffs. I think the pitching staff is tired and our hitters are banged up. Robin seems to be going through some issues(I expected this for most of the season actually when pertaining to Robin). Stuff like that happens in a baseball season. If we dont make it hopefully we improve and can make a run next year.
  13. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Detroit blows. They'll lose once they hit the road. Indeed
  14. QUOTE (Spod=Ratings @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 08:51 PM) The extreme b****ing on this board really needs to stop Its not going to
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) If Sox fall behind Det tonight they will not sniff first place again! Nice assumption there tough guy
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) Santiago gets them back in the dugout with the lead. Ill take it
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) Go away. How about no
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) RV is not a good manager. Yeah we get it
