  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) I understand your position. I wonder if we aren't waiting to see who remains in the FA market after some of the bigger names get signed? There might be some real talent and bargains left out there that can upgrade a team and help them contend and you don't break the bank. I see another good relief pitcher being needed and bench strength I think there is without a doubt we are going after relief pitching.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:37 PM) It would be really, really nice if we had a LH hitting backup to pair with him, but that's not AJ. You're not making AJ a backup at this point in his career Absolutely not and I completely understand that.
  3. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) How can you say you have no problem starting Flowers, then say you think he'll be a total bust? If you want to find out what he has then fine. I understand completely why they want to do it. Its just my personal opinion that he wont amount to anything which is why I want a veteran backup catcher.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:24 PM) That's a pretty big assumption, which I am not willing to fully accept at this time. AJ is a 35 year old catcher, who has had the heaviest catching workload in all of baseball for a while now. He is also coming off of a career year, that might require a pretty big contract to bring back. Add to that we have a half of a million dollar catcher on the roster, who at very least, seems to be much better defensively and throwing, already... This probably isn't the best usage of funds for the White Sox. I have no problem with starting Flowers at catcher. I just dont want that to be our only option if that fails(veteran backup would be nice). I know there alot on here looking at his upside. His downside could be pretty ugly. To be honest I think he is going to be complete bust.

  6. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/12/pote...l#disqus_thread Complete speculation...buy hey its something
  7. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 11:07 AM) I have a feeling Danks will be pretty useless as well. If his fastball drops to 88-90 he's probably screwed, since he's a two-pitch pitcher to begin with. Oh no! Watch out for Danks' 77mph change! Hope I've never been more wrong and he Adrian Petersons the league.
  8. QUOTE (sayitaintso @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) Sarcasm is hard to portray via text, but was just posting because it went official. Ah ok my bad
  9. QUOTE (sayitaintso @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 10:29 AM) So you're saying that you're a wizard or something? No I just talked to other sports writers who said he decided on the Reds. I posted that on here.
  10. QUOTE (sayitaintso @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) Since Hannahan was rumored here for a while I felt this fit in here...bump if needed. It's almost official! MLB Trade Rumors ‏@mlbtraderumors Reds To Sign Jack Hannahan http://bit.ly/SbDK5r #mlb REJOICE SOXTALK! I had this figured out last week. Old news.
  11. Well here is some information I received this morning. This was a direct message so its not on his twitter page. "The White Sox were in on him. But I heard yesterday late afternoon that he decided on the Reds." Darren Wolfson on Jack Hannahan.
  12. This was the Morosi tweet I was referring to Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi Jack Hannahan could decide on a team today. Twins, White Sox and Reds are in the mix. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi
  13. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 07:38 PM) Jack freaking Hannahan Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson #MLB source: #MNTwins are out on free agent 3B Jack Hannahan. Good chance he signs with the #Reds. https://twitter.com/DarrenWolfson
  14. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 05:02 PM) MLBTR says the Sox and Mariners discussed a deal for Viciedo. I would hope it meant somehow getting Kyle Seager in return. Also said a deal was discussed between Mariners and Reds that would send De Aza to Cinci. Not sure why it's worded that way. 3-team trade? Or did they mean Sox would trade De Aza to Cinci? I can't imagine Todd Frazier would have been in play, maybe a Henry Rodriguez or something? Im pretty sure it meant Sox would trade De Aza to the Reds.
  15. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) The Sox are trying to deal De Aza and Viciedo to get a better a better prospect mix to get in the Upton derby. That would be interesting
  16. Can Zack make up his mind already so we can get the ball rolling. Seems like everything is stalled because he hasnt made up his mind yet.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) It may not be the last thing we do in this area either - do you think? Well yesterday Morosi wrote that we were in the mix for Jack Hannahan. He will probably decide soon.
  18. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 09:52 AM) Everybody available sucks as bad as Beckham anyway. If only that were true
  19. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 09:25 AM) At this point, unless they can get real creative with a trade, they might as well move Beckham to 3rd and bring Sanchez up to play 2nd. *shrugs*
  20. Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi Jack Hannahan has interest from teams on major league deals. #WhiteSox and #Marlins among suitors. @MLBONFOX https://twitter.com/jonmorosi
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 10:13 PM) Sorry but where are you getting this from? The CSN article I posted.
  22. QUOTE (Special K @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) Saw the Red Sox are willing to deal Jacoby Elsbury on Mlbtraderumors... Given that he is coming of an injury plagued season, and given the fact that he is a free agent in 2014 and they just signed Victorino, I could believe it. Any chance the Sox could pry him away for Gavin and a reliever? Would the Sox even want to do that? Thoughts? Sounds like Rick doesnt really want to trade Gavin.
  23. http://www.csnchicago.com/baseball-chicago...69535988938-914 Ill post this here to. What the article seems to suggest is the White Sox stance on AJ may have changed with the lack of options on the market especially at 3B.

  25. I asked him about it Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson Re: Hannahan -- According to @hoynsie, likely. RT @ImDaBaron: @DarrenWolfson White Sox? https://twitter.com/DarrenWolfson
