Great loss today and a loss tomorrow.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:09 AM) He plays the most physically demanding position on the field, and plays it more often than any of us his peers. Hardly the resume of a "lazy" player. Your arguing with a guy who obviously has no idea what AJ's work habits are.

and here we go...

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:05 AM) I've hated him ever since he threw the elbow at Frank at the Metrodome. I don't like him so it forces me to be way more objective. I'm happy when he does well, it helps the Sox, but he's a lazy, s*** talking SOB. You've met him before and know his work habits?
-
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) People call Rios lazy. He's not lazy, he's dumb. There's a huge difference. AJ's not dumb, he's just f***ing lazy. I dont think AJ is lazy at all. Quite the opposite from everything I hear actually.

If we lose this one Im not sure Ill watch the game tomorrow. I dont like watching our own pitching get shelled.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:58 PM) Funny thing is I'm sure you're making fun of marty, but if someone was willing to take his remaining contract off our books, then I'm not so sure you don't let them. I think there would be a few teams that would

Screw you Matt

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:57 PM) Alexei plays defense We need to put him on waivers. No one would pick him up.

1 more please Matt

Gosh Matt stinks this year

I hate these really late games

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:49 PM) Double switch, I assume. Only problem is you have to have Escobar lead off in the 9th Thats what Im guessing.

Hudson just got removed for a defensive replacement.

Rios has been earning his pay this year. Very frustrating when he is having a year like last year because we all know what he is capable of.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:43 PM) He has been MUCH better than Brent Morel was in every way. It may turn out to be just a bench acquisition, but I can't say it's a bad move fuuu quoted wrong post Morel also had a screwed up back.

RIOS!

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) If you trade for a starting pitcher because you've given up on Floyd and Humber, then you better make sure that player has at least another year left on their deal. If not, you're looking at Sale, Danks, Quintana and nothing in the rotation next year. I would throw Molina into a package of whatever we are trying to trade for. That guy to me has bullpen at best written all over him.

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:38 PM) But they could get you something. If they're serious about contending they need, at least, a 3rd baseman. They're fielding 8 guys out there daily. Put a guy on the hot corner that can OPS .750 and catch the damn ball, and this club can do something. This team needs pitching right now more than a 3rd baseman.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:36 PM) All of them together wouldn't get you Greinke. Not that it would be smart to go for broke anyway, because we wouldn't end up resigning Greinke anyway against an open market. Petricka's injured, and mentioning Danks or Lillibridge right now would get KW laughed at. 100 MPH fastball by Nathan Jones there. No way we get Greinke

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:33 PM) Paying 25 million over 9 years is a heck of a lot different than having to cover the remaining 8 million or so on a deal this year. Ofcourse but JR has always been willing to open up the book for a team looking to contend and add.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:32 PM) I remain staunchly opposed to buying at the deadline. Unless you can get a nice piece for next to nothing, I just wouldn't do it. We came into this season with a plan to build a consistent winner. Trading one of our very nice young players/prospects (I think we have several, but not enough to start trading them away) just really shortens our window for competing. Don't throw out the plans for this season based on a good couple months of baseball. If this team is meant to compete, an extremely reliable pitcher like Floyd will turn it around. Danks will get healthy. Humber will either find it or his well-performing replacement will step in. I'm honestly not all that worried about it, as annoying as it is to watch. We could probably get a competent veteran 3B for cheap but I still wouldn't trade a Jared Mitchell/Jose Quintana player for one (sans David Wright who I don't believe is getting moved). O-Dog has his bad plays over there but he has some that the "average" 3B doesn't make. I expect the D to get better and I think his batting average will improve when he isn't walking at such a high rate/just gets more at bats Yes we know

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:30 PM) And the question is, who on the Sox (of their prospects) even has trade value? Sox best bet to get a big time player via trade is if they pick up the remaining salary. They have money to spend(offered Soler 25 million). JR would be willing to spend if it was for a player that will help this team.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:27 PM) Thing is, Sox just don't have the resources for a massive overhaul right now. If Floyd, Humber and Danks continue to have just ridiculously bad seasons, then you don't deserve to make the postseason. With Sale having an innings limit, I'd much rather KW wait until the deadline before making any decision. One big slump and this team could be in 4th place, and then you're looking at a whole different scenario at the deadline. I think Kenny is going to make a move soon. I dont believe its going to be a massive overhaul. But this team does need a pitcher and I dont believe he wants to sell. We would prob have to be way far back for him to concede defeat.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:22 PM) We're not a first place team unless we get good pitching. All of the AL Central teams are fatally flawed. It will be like this for the rest of the season unless the White Sox fix 3B and their starting pitching. Let's face it, Orlando Hudson isn't an everyday player in the majors anymore, and certainly not at 3B. I laugh at some of the people on here who just want to ride it out with Humber and Floyd. See what happens. We wont be in 1st very long with the way those guys are pitching. Those two are almost automatic losses at this point. Priority for Kenny is starting pitching with 3rd base not far behind. We need to add atleast 1 guy as soon as possible.
