QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) I think the Red Sox throw that out there to try to get others involved. I still think Pittsburgh and Arizona are possibilites since the cost shouldn't be much. I think all offers being the same, they would prefer to have Youkilis on a team that is not an AL playoff contender just in case he rediscovers his performance. Arizona is apparently out of the running. Pittsburgh doesnt want to take his money and give up a decent prospect.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 12:02 PM) I think he winds up in the NL. While its always exciting the Sox may upgrade from a guy like the ODog, if Youkilis doesn't come here, even if the price was close to nothing, its really not a big deal. Its either us(more likely) or the Dodgers at this point.

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 11:42 AM) What's their site again? Would be fun to read lol Just look at the PSD one.

Red Sox fans think that they are getting Gavin Floyd in this deal

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:41 PM) They said on the pre game that Humber was actually playing catch today. I think his stay on the DL will be minimal. The really good news to come out of that is no surgery.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) Fair enough, I didn't mean to start an unnecessary argument. Here is to hoping Axelrod comes up and is serviceable and Humber figures it out for a repeat of last season's first half. I think its a good argument and a fair question Im actually looking forward to Axelrod pitching.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) It's not about accountability, it's about having a personal agenda, which you clearly have. It's pretty obvious that the rest of the board doesn't care to wade through this nonsense, so why don't you try to withhold your anal retentive and vindictive side to a minimum, whenever possible. It is about accountability which was my agenda when responding to your posts. Unfortunately I wont do that last part.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) I like that at least several publications thought very highly of Simon at one point and it seems that he only lost favor due to a loss of control, which appears to be back. It would be really nice to see him have a more dominant run than he's really had so far this year, just to see that ceiling of his show through. He's given up a few runs here and there. But nothing concerning like with Nestor Molina. He seems pretty steady.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:22 PM) You said Orlando Hudson cannot throw to first. Now using your standard, that is a definitive statement which is obviously absurdly false, as I saw him make many throws to first tonight. If you are going to hold my statements to an absurd level of literalism, you are a far worse offender than I am. Good I encourage you to keep holding me accountable. I'm just far more persistent in that area as you'll find out.

jon greenberg @espnchijon Could Youkilis be heading to White Sox? @Buster_ESPN thinks Sox are favorite. http:// jon greenberg @espnchijon “@Buster_ESPN: @espnchijon Not me. Folks in involved in the talks.” Correction on last tweet. Mis-read first graf. Still, point remains https://twitter.com/espnchijon

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) Wild pitches have played a huge role in three of our last four losses Once that happened I had little faith that Crain would get the other 2 out.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:15 PM) Right, because I am sure he would tell the writer that the reason he was really DL'd is because he is sucking ass and we need a roster spot. But we'll never know, because we're not Phil Humber. It could be that as well. Your taking your training in stride. Glad to see your finally learning.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) Hah...ok, so I guess from here on out, I get to ridicule every opinion you have of anything you are not involved in because you are not them. Pathetic. Sure if I make a definitive statement without the full knowledge of the situation go right ahead. I encourage you to do that.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 08:09 PM) I have been and what I meant about the rebuild is start letting some of these kids getting time, major league exp under there belt let them gel togheter Im just wondering but which players did you have in mind?
-
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:06 PM) Then why did it take so long? And what else would you want him to say? He said in the article he thinks unless your arm is broken you go out there and pitch. His answer seemed completely reasonable. Either way there was clearly something wrong and he needs some time to work it out.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) Well what would your suggestion be, Baron? That he didn't want to get the out? That he wants to lose games? That he is getting paid on the side to make ridiculously stupid plays? The only possible answer is that it did not occur to him that he could do that, because he was damn sure looking at him when he ran 3-feet around the bag. I have absolutely no idea. You know why? Im not Paul Konerko. There isnt only one possible answer because you dont have the full story.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) I eat sports writers for breakfast. There is a clear distinction in saying someone is not aware of something and saying they don't know something. If he was aware of the rule at that moment, I ask you again, why did he not just step on or tag the base? I made a play very similar to that one in the second grade where I knew I could just touch the base with my glove instead of trying to step on the bag or tag the runner. It would have been nice had PK done the same thing. Yes apparently you "light them up" just like you did yesterday with your compelling argument. I have no idea why he didnt step on the bag is the point. Neither do you. Its just an assumption to say he is unaware of the rules. Which is what I have been saying from the start.
-
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:01 PM) This is simply a phantom injury. I'm sure Humber is fine. Humber said he basically had no control of his pitches because of this injury. Certainly doesnt sound like a phantom injury to me.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) It is definitely worth considering. I really don't think Kenny is eager to trade away the few trade pieces we have to get a starting pitcher, either. Im starting to get the feeling that Simon Castro is his guy. He got promoted today and seems to be on the fast track to the Major Leagues. I believe you have mentioned this earlier as well.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Yes, and he clearly wasn't. If he was, why did he not tag the base? Is saying he could be aware of the rules the same as saying he does not know the rules? Clearly not the same. You have a terrible understanding of the english language. Yeah I was told I have a terrible understanding of the English language when I was hired as a Sports Writer. The best part of that paragraph is you start to say he isnt but then say that doesnt mean the samething. Sort of trying to hit both points to cover your bases. Clever but futile.

"Or our 1b could be aware of the rules" woops

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) By all means...you certainly have nothing more important to do. And when you do find it, do me the courtesy of actually providing the context in which I posted it for once. Its 10 at night and I finished with my articles. My work day is done. Oh I will

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) I never actually said he doesn't know the rules of baseball. I questioned why he didn't just step on the bag. He clearly had a brain fart. All I was pointing out was that his mental gaffe was more disturbing to me than Orlando's. DA and yourself are the posters who interpreted that as me stating PK doesn't know the rules. And in that instance, please tell me why he didn't just step on the bag? Im pretty sure you did actually...now I gotta go dig that up.
