  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2012 -> 07:29 PM) Hudson continues to work the count very well, he just can't do anything with it. That pitch was meat, and I'm not sure how he missed it. old man syndrome kicking in
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) You can't get mad at Humber allowing 2 runs if you believe the Sox won't score at least 2 today. He wont be the only guy Im mad at for sure then
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ May 29, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) This is because his success is so dependent on one pitch and that pitch is one he can't be very consistent with. This is why he's been adding that slider in, searching for consistency Yeah his slider has been off for a while now. I hope he finds it because that would be a huge help to this rotation.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ May 29, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) So do we automatically lose? If Shields kept pitching the way he was earlier sure. The way this game looks I thought 2 runs would win it. Just like last game.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Or is the question: did he just have great stuff on the magical day and that was an anomaly? I think he can have that stuff all the time to be honest. He had that stuff for a while last year. It just seems to fall off.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) Still plenty of time to make this decision. It wouldn't shock me in the the least if by the deadline, Gavin is someone who the Sox can count on and Peavy is considered a liability. Absolutely and thats all Im saying. There are many factors that have to be right for them to make that decision. But with Gavin it always seems like an illusion. He'll look dominate for a while. Then the next few games he cant get out of an inning.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ May 29, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) Is Phil off today? Yeah he was been off since the perfect game. He clearly doesnt have as good of stuff as he can have.
  8. I mean if the Front Office is serious about contending. If were in first place at the trade deadline. Then you need a starting pitcher. Gavin Floyd and Phil Humber are either on or off(lucky we didnt lose the game in Cleveland when Floyd was pitching). If they are off you automatically lose.
  9. Yeah Dunn why did you swing at that?
  10. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) Can't. KW's already said that attendance is going to keep this team as is. Never listen to Kenny unless the has trade deadline passed.
  11. Well if were in it by the trade deadline add a starter and go for it.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) Took me a while but I am now convinced this team is a contender. Pitching is the main issue....which Floyd,Danks and Humber are we going to get?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:36 PM) Here's the post I wrote that in reply to: When someone else decides that everything Orlando does is a good reason to rip Morel, I can't respond? I dont rip on Morel everytime Hudson does something. Actually that was the first time I brought Morel up in a few days thank you. Selective memory.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) It does make you wonder how they expect it to be totally healed within 2 weeks. Even balta agrees he needs to go on rehab assignment and show he can hit a little before being activated. I bet this is part of a larger problem in his back. It always seems to be the case when talking about back injuries. But we'll wait and see.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:16 PM) Again according to Hawk, it started bothering him right around the start of the season. Why he didn't wind up getting extra rest or goign on the DL, might have been part the lack of confidence in his backups and part the fact that it wasn't just his back he was dealing with, it was some sort of dietary issue/weight loss as well. So basically he is screwed
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) If you listened to Hawk, he's described Morel as basically being unable to bend over without pain, leading to him just being totally unable to deal with anything on the outside edge of the plate. If he's wincing and unable to square up that pitch, then yeah, he's going to be overly defensive on anything outside, because he couldn't hit it hard with his back and was just forced to protect. So has he had this back injury all year? He has been doing this since the season started. If so then why on Earth was he not on the DL?
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:03 PM) If Brent's ever healthy he's going to make a lot of people try to forget the posts they wrote ripping him. I dont like playing the what if game
  18. Its so nice not to have Morel at 3rd....but thatll be short lived Im sure
