  1. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) And you called him "pathetic" after two ABs. There should be a separate game thread for you and the band of ignoramuses here calling him a p****. Or a corner for you to cry in
  2. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) It's the pitcher. The f***ing pitcher. I know you're blinded by your absolute hatred of Floyd, but Pierzynski wasn't doing him a favor there. I guess you missed me defending Floyd yesterday.
  3. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 07:42 PM) A 3-2 changeup, are you f***ing kidding me? Abysmal by AJ, just abysmal. Have you seen his fastball?
  4. Lets see if he can get Westbrook out
  5. But wasnt Floyd suppose to build on the positives?
  6. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) GavDroid looks like he is programmed to get outs. Good job Motorola. You can be excited when he is doing this in the 5th or 6th.
  7. Yep its going to be another one of those games
  8. Why did Paulie swing at the first pitch?
  9. Lets find out what Gavin we have today
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) Nearly 1.000 OPS with runners on, nearly .650 OPS with the bases empty. Humber is the same way. Humber is one bad start from being dropped from the rotation anyway.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) Molina out after 4 innings/80 pitches. Only 2 runs makes me wonder if something happened. He is still giving up a ton of hits
  12. Alot of Tiger fans at Wrigley today
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) Honestly, I have no idea what to expect from Gavin...Trust me, I certainly hope he improves as much as anyone. I've seen a lot of posters express though that his hot streak should be coming soon...I am inclined to believe he already had it, actually. I believe this is around the time he normally gets into a grove. We shall see.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) Gavin and Phil have ERA's over 5. We are not winning a whole lot of those games, especially lately. What exactly are they doing for us this year that couldn't be done by replacements? So you expect Gavin to keep pitching like he has been?
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:28 PM) I don't really remember Gavin being quite this bad, but I may be mistaken. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that a guy could come in and put up a 4.2 era over the course of a year. When Gavin's pitches arent working then he plays this bad. Sure but the guys who you could throw in there could struggle alot.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) Teams do this all the time, guys...the world doesn't end if a guy comes in and gives up 4 runs. He's still a professional pitcher...he's not going to give up like 100 runs in one inning. And if he does, well, it still costs the same as Gavin Floyd and Phil Humber's losses do everytime they pitch. Well thats just plain not true. Gavin goes through these streaks all the time. Sometimes he is just plain nasty. He doesnt pitch like this everytime.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:22 PM) Why would this decision have to be made now? Basically you'd be banking on someone showing you enough throughout the remainder of the year and then in the spring to make that decision then. It could be someone we get from trading Floyd or another player. It could be someone we sign in the offseason for $4 million a year. You've got Danks/Sale and you sign another guy, throw in the Feathered Serpent, and then hope a guy like Castro makes strides. Otherwise, maybe you have Humber back on track. I know the knee-jerk reaction is to panic, but we do have some people that can step in, just like Humber did last year, Quintana has this year, etc. Ofcourse you dont have to make it now. You just seemed like you had a few guys in mind. In the end I dont think thats whats going to happen.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:19 PM) Right now, the next starter in would clearly be Axelrod. Option 1A would have to be either Stewart or Santiago, but then you're going to get the game to the pen in the 4th or 5th. Option 2 would be Simon Castro, but can you really go to a AA pitcher in the heat of a pennant race? Didn't we already learn that lesson with Jackson for Hudson/Holmberg ONCE already? Woops forgot about Axelrod. Im pretty excited about Simon Castro. But he needs more time in the minors. Molina is getting hammered in AA.
