  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) Hudson had already been traded for Jackson when Sox were negotiating with Rizzo. It's Viciedo they wanted, and I believe a few people with inside info on here confirmed it also. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/12/whit...os-quentin.html Yeah its Joe Cowley so take it for what its worth( not entirely about Carlos) http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/07/adam...s-thursday.html
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) Rizzo was on the score the day after the trade deadline, and he said there was a player that he'd only trade Dunn for and KW wouldn't give him up. They asked if it was Beckham, and he said no. They asked if it was Viciedo, and he said "no comment" or something along those lines. Well from what I ready Rizzo asked for Gordon they said no. He then asked for Viciedo plus Hudson and they said no.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) I remember the same thing. The Sox were willing to part with Flowers, not Dayan. Looking over the trade deadline rumors from last year it seems they were willing but not with Hudson
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) KW and Rizzo said that year that Viciedo was absolutely not available I dont remember hearing that at all...Gordon for sure but not Dayan. Id like to know where you heard that.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) I'm with you on that. I'd actually cancel our season tickets for 2012 if that happened. Having said that, there is no way KW trades Viciedo. He refused to give him up last year. Don't remember hearing that he was being offered in trade talks in the past. IMO, Viciedo is one of KW's last signs of credibility as a GM. If he becomes a star hitter, it will take off some of the heat from some of his other moves, such as the Hudson deal. No way? He wasnt untouchable last year during the trade deadline. For the right player he would have been gone. Im sure Kenny will have the same mentality this trade deadline.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) But they supposedly were very careful about him last trade deadline...I don't doubt for a second that he would be traded for what was deemed the "right" player...but I think Kenny has learned that a reliever is not that player. Yeah well like last year it wasnt either. Right after the deadline when our pen started getting riddled with injuries. Maybe they are preparing for the worst or something to that affect.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) If you are 100% all in and you really mean it...that's a move you'd actually do. Problem is we may be all-in and holding an 8 high. Right well they have time to decide what they want to do.
  8. I think everyone has to remember that they were willing to trade Viciedo before. Wouldnt surprise me to see him gone for a top reliever.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) Then...you better be willing to give up the price for a releiver who is substantially better than Tony Pena. I think all 3 of the Padres relievers they are shopping are substantially better than Pena
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) Tony Pena can be had in exchange for a roster spot. I dont want to see Pena in a sox uniform ever again thank you very much
  11. Besides Bell and Adams who are some cheap options out there? Maybe Qualls?
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 12:02 PM) I guess that's part of the problem, so many people take it as the truth and throw it out there as fact. I'm not trying to call out this post, but whenever I see a story linked to that site I always do my best to take it for what it is & isn't I understand that its speculation...I put a question mark after the thread title to try and insinuate that. But Im sorry if I lead some people in the wrong direction.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) If they want a righty reliever they should really just give Infante or Reed a shot at it I think Reed needs a little more time in the minors
  14. maybe they dont want to blow Crain's arm out?
  15. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/07/cont...wish-lists.html They apparently put this together by the rumors they got. Its obvious we need a bat more than we need pen help.
  16. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Well, good news is that Team USA just scored, and is winning in the World Cup final game, and Breaking Bad S4 premiers tonight. So all isn't lost. Yeah I cant wait for the new Breaking Bad series
  17. This team needs to acquire another bat at the trade deadline for sure.
  18. " I DONT CARE IF I GET FIRED" Guess who that is
