I'm still waiting for an example. If you provide me an example of where I said trade Cease and Dunn for Lynn in here I'll stop giving you shit for being wrong.
If that's your attitude how are they going to be in the Dodgers league in 2-3 years? We should just rebuild and give up.
If they get that far you let it play out.
But he has service time that we have ownership of. Why waste that? He's cheap and who knows maybe our new pitching coach will turn him around. Remember Giolito? Give it a shot. We're not championship contenders so let's take a swing at it.
Just return all the same guys in that scenario. That way you definitely don't waste ownership. Start Lopez and Cease again and see what happens. We're not championship contenders.
How many years and struggles do you think we are going to give him then? Also why not Lopez? Let's give Lopez a shot. Your good with watching them "develop" during the 8 run innings during important games right?
Here's a better question. Can we go through a year of having more pitchers with their struggles happening throughout the season? How many more years do you give them? 1,2 or 3? Why not keep trying in that case.
Times a wasting whether you like it or not. Cease and Lopez should have stepped up last year if they wanted to cement themselves in the rotation. That's why they didn't get a playoff start.
Hell if your good with the rotation. Why not give Lopez a shot? Stop leaning on the bullpen too let them eat the games they blow up in. We can waste years for more development what's more games during the season?
Yes yes I too would like to see Cease and Dunning in the playoffs. I would love to see AL teams that aren't afraid to start winning tee off on those guys. They won't take the time they have in the playoffs for granted like many on here do.
There's no guarantee Cease is even good. There's no guarantee Dunning is good. Both of them were spotty. There's no guarantee the sun comes up tomorrow.
Will we be sorry if Lance Lynn is starting game 2 of the playoffs after hopefully Giolito has a good first game? I won't. You know why? Because we'll have a damn good chance of getting to the World Series.
Those are the type of trades your going to have to make to get guys like him under those contracts. Sorry it hurts but too bad. Like I said not all of these guys are going to be spending their careers with the White Sox. We can sacrifice 1 of them to give us a better chance to win a World Series.
If the argument is about sending Dunning or Cease especially Cease for Lynn that should be an easy trade. I'm not sure what the Rangers value of Cease is or the White Sox for that matter. But I'm not sure he's going to get a long leash from us either way. Dunning can stay or go.
