  1. Buster As written yesterday, White Sox perceived by some executives to be front-runners for Youkilis. The OPS of CWS 3Bmen: .460, worst in majors.
  2. From Rosenthal #RedSox have engaged in heavy talks with #WhiteSox on Youkilis; Dodgers remain in mix. Story with @jonmorosi: http://nmsn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/kevin-...ded-soon-062212
  3. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) You have valid points about JR busting out the check book but the quality of the product doesn't strictly rely on Peavy, Rios, and Dunn. I could also add that the three prior to this year have not really been a factor in the team's success due to their contributions. It's the overall approach KW takes as a GM that hasn't lived up to expectations. And 1st place? We've seen this up and down (2011 was totally down) set of results in 2010 and this year. Sorry but the product ain't gettin it done. I believe the product is getting it done. What were we projected to finish in our division by most....like 4th? We have had 3 holes in the pitching staff (now 2 thanks to Q) from the beginning of the season & we are only a half game out. Sounds like they are battling & getting the job done to me.
  4. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 12:16 PM) I don't have any problem with what KW is saying. attendance is low and that is fact. Wish we were playing better at home, but we aren't. I hate seeing our attendance so low. Only beating out TB, Cleveland and Oakland. Gross. So sad. This team has spent so much on players like Dunn, Peavy, & Rios to get this team over the hump. We could be like other teams who once they manufacture an all star in their system have to trade him or let him walk. The ownership has done their part by busting out their checkbook big time for US, & this is how we repay em? Hahaha bottom 4 in attendance with a team that's been in first place? So sad.
  5. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 12:24 PM) I think I've had enough of KW. You can improve the 3B situation without spending a ton of money -- IF you are willing to think outside the box. Really? Because I'm not seeing a lot of options out there. What would you do Mr. GM?
  6. Maybe a change of scenery will do Youk some good ( not saying it will be here). A LOT of stuff has gone down in Boston over the past year & maybe a relocation will get him back to his old ways. There is no doubt the guy can hit the ball. He has that proven track record, but maybe his heart is not in it anymore in Boston?
  7. The product on the field? Lmao we have been in first place. Hahahaha that's one lame excuse for not showing up.
  8. Maybe they are interested in one of our bullpen pieces?
  9. Trade talk involving Kevin Youkilis has intensified in the last 24 to 48 hours, according to Major League sources. The Red Sox have made it clear that the third baseman is available and they are willing to include cash in order to receive a better player in return. In response, a number of clubs have indicated that they have interest in acquiring the three-time All-Star. "He's being shopped everywhere," said one high-ranking official with a National League club. The Diamondbacks, White Sox, Dodgers, Indians and Pirates are among the teams with varying levels of interest in acquiring Youkilis, sources say. Im sure Kenny is pulling out all his stops to get this guy with the recent offensive struggles & our gaping black hole at 3b. http://baseball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_arc..._gaining_steam/
  10. Geez how many hits have been taken away from Rios this year. F********K
  11. Q reminds me of Buerhle. Just throws strikes & if they hit it they hit it.
  12. Chase Headley, Chris Nelson, Ryan Roberts, Ian Stewart could be some names to look at at 3b.
  13. We should have picked up Inge when we had the chance. Good defense & can give you a big hit.
  14. Lilli Beck Dunn Tank Rios Danks Flowers Escobar Q
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) I hope Viciedo is in the lineup at least He is
  16. Lilli, Danks, Flowers, & Escobar are all in the lineup today.
  17. Floyd available in relief today. If he's used, Sale would move back to Wednesday
  18. Adam Dunn has the highest BA (.636), most HR (3) & most RBI (7) of any batter vs Clayton Kershaw, whom he faces today. Its quite random of him to dominate such a good lefty lol
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:24 PM) Because he wasn't as good as the numbers indicate. If he was, he'd be here. This is a guy who the Twins wouldn't even keep, with a 100 loss team. That alone should tell you something. His numbers are much better than what Qs were down in AA. Q does not have great stuff but what he does have is great command & when you locate pitches you can get big leaguers out just as Q is doing now. Doyle has BETTER stuff than Q with just as much command hence him getting a bunch of ppl out in AAA & ppl only hitting .199 off of him. Just doesn't make sense for an organization with very little in the pitching department in the minors.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:16 PM) Because he was somewhere between 10th and 12 on the starting pitching depth chart. He was only 26 though....I could see if he was 30, but he showed some real promise this year. The way Humber Danks & Floyd have pitched combine with the way Q has come up and performed this move makes ZERO sense. Our system is already a joke so why let somebody still fairly young showing some promise just walk away? A terrible descision IMO by the organization. You just don't let quality pitching walk away for nothing in baseball.
  21. Doyle was 26 years old 6'4" 260 pounds.....6-3 this year with a 2.83 era in 76 innings pitched he only allowed 53 hits 25 runs while walking 18 & striking out 71 & opponents batting. 199 against him. Why would we cut him so he could go to Japan???? We could have used him down the stretch & long man in the pen.

  23. Wait we released Doyle? Wasn't he having a nice year in Triple A? Ahhh NVM read we released him so he could pursue a playing career in Japan? Seems pretty odd considering he was having a good year.
