  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) Shoulder injury. This is what can happen Fastball velocity went from 91.5 to 88.5. A 3 MPH drop in velocity is going to do a lot of damage. He might be a guy the Sox look at, but shoulder injuries typically force pitchers to either learn how to pitch again or learn how to live in the real world. EDIT: I was thinking shoulder. May have been his knees. Either way, not someone to count on Yea I haven't been following him closely so I figured it had to be some kind of injury. Unfortunate.
  2. Guy used to be pretty dang good, & is still only 27, but just got DFAd by Baltimore. Have injuries been hurting him or is he just BAD these days? In 2009 he pitched 215 innings going 14-10 with a 2.60 ERA. In 2011 he pitched 152 innings going 13-6 with a 2.96 ERA. Possible Coop job?....or maybe he is just BAD now?
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 03:38 PM) No, not for Sale. If they actually trade him, they are trading him for prospects. If they hypothetically traded him for Sale, it would be Sale for Stanton straight up. You are not getting Eovaldi too. I'm not so sure about that. Jacob Turner has been pitching just as well as Eovaldi, & he could be their future 3. If you could pair Sale with the young Jose Fernandez who is having an unbelievable rookie year, & have them as your future 1-2 I'm not so sure they would let Eovaldi stand in the way of that. Their top 2 prospects are OFs who are fairly close to getting a shot with them...Marcel Ozuna has been very good this year...Stanton may be a little more attainable than you think.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 03:30 PM) The contract with Sale is what gets you even more talent, although teams would probably site injury concerns to keep the offers lower. Assuming Sale remains an ace for the entire length of his contract, a comparable top hitter is going to have to be paid significantly more money. I wouldn't trade him unless it was a no-brainer, but I would make sure I gave teams the opportunity to make me a no-brainer offer. This. Out of the tier of possible young STUD hitters...Stanton has to be the most obtainable you would think? Stanton/Eovaldi combo is a good start to a good package for Sale. Eovaldi has top of the rotation type stuff, & I have seen him live in the 98-99 mph range at times this season.
  5. Stanton/Eovaldi/Romero They gain another ace to go with Fernandez for the future...We get Stanton who has the potential to hit MANY MANY MANY bombs at the Cell...Eovaldi who has ELECTRIC stuff & I have been very impressed with him from I have watched this season....Avery Romero gives us our possible SS of the future who was a 3rd round pick in 2012. May have to throw in Jacob Turner as well Miami....
  6. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 08:26 PM) We could have had Manny for cheap...unfortunately, we let Texas beat us to the punch. THE SAVIOR!!!

  9. My goodness has Coke been TERRIBLE this season.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) Quality start. 2.87 ERA at the break. Not good enough.
  11. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 03:13 PM) I hate the Tigers so much. Really glad I wasn't a sheep who only liked them because of their proximity to my location. THIS!!!
