Jacob May CF Coastal Carolina Switch Hitter No power but all speed.

SOX UP

No AL teams left in front of us though. Thinking Tellez will be there for us if we want him.
-
There goes Daniel Palka to Arizona 3 picks away from us.
-
Arguably the best athlete in the draft just taken by Pitt in Jacoby Jones.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) How much time between picks? Still a minute? Not sure but it is going quite fast

QUOTE (staxx @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 01:02 PM) Wow. That kid does have some pop. 7.42 60 yard dash is not bad AT ALL for his size. Yea I have a feeling he will be off the board real early today. Not sure about his signing situation. Committed to go to USC.

Trey Michalczewski...6-3 210 pounds...Switch Hitting 3rd Baseman

QUOTE (staxx @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) that kid is massive Yea his power is off the charts. Some reports on him: Tellez is a very big, powerful first base prospect with some of the best power in his class. He’s consistently shown the ability to hit the ball out of the yard and consistently square the ball up. His swing is very smooth from the left side and he keeps the barrel in the zone for a long time. In short, he's a classic power first base prospect: the power potential is very high and he's never going to be anything more than adequate in any other aspect of the game. As can be assumed from his frame, he's not a runner and he can't handle any other position. He'll never be more than average at first, but reports indicate that he's improved his athleticism and footwork. It's scary to think about it, but Tellez played in the Area Code Games at age 17 and he's very young for his class. The power potential is very intriguing here, and this USC commit probably won't make it to campusnext fall. MLB Comparison: Kendrys Morales A true slugger, Rowdy Tellez is one of the top power bats available in the 2013 MLB Draft. Big, smooth swing Easy power Pulls the ball with authority Good approach at the plate Average defensively at first Moves well for size Average arm 7.42 recorded 60 time Very big build Work ethic is well known When you think of power-hitting first basemen who swing from the left side of the plate, you tend to think of guys like Prince Fielder, Ryan Howard and, to a somewhat lesser extent, San Diego-era Adrian Gonzalez. That's the kind of fraternity Rowdy Tellez could join somewhere down the line. Baseball America (subscription) has Tellez down as the best left-handed power bat in this year's draft class, and their reasoning doesn't require much of an explanation. Just listen to the sound of the ball coming off his bat in the video on your right. That's some raw power right there, and it's easy power, too. Tellez makes that sound without a ton of effort.

Could draft our future DH in ROWDY TELLEZ!!! Arguably one of the BEST POWER HITTERS in this draft. Listed at 6-4 220 but he is more like 270 haha. ROWDY ROWDY ROWDY

Also like Wil Crowe a RHP in High School. Good mechanics & the ball seems to EXPLODE out of his hands.
-
AJ Puk - HIGH CEILING 6-7 LHP Jared King- Switch hitting lefty with a good stroke from both sides

This run by Big Bad Bick!!! Is amazing & depressing at the same time. Reminds me of the run & impact BIG BAD BUFF had our last Stanley Cup Finals victory. Wish we could hold on to him following this season, but it's highly unlikely. Might as well go out with a bang. -
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 12:13 AM) Sale and Danish's mechanics aren't even close to similar. Really, no one has mechanics like Danish. That could arguably be a good thing.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 12:02 AM) Right. We drafted him a round early just for this reason. Was just thinking the same thing. ............ Not gonna lie with Coop around you have to feel VERY comfortable with a pick like this.

Whats wrong with Ryan Boldt....seems like I saw him higher on some mocks?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 11:15 PM) At least Dunn didn't try to pull it. THIS!!! If Dunn can stay in that approach I have much more faith in him. Tough loss, but until the Tigers shore up that pen they aint running away just yet. JUST GOTTA FLIPPIN HIT!!!! Seriously need to bring up Phegley & let him see if he can stay hot. It's not like Flowers is a defensive specialist haha. Love what I am seeing from Beck & if De Aza can focus on line drives & just getting on base rather than the long ball I think we can turn it around offensively. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) I'd like to see that strike three pitch again. I swear it was a K. NO WAY. 6 inches off the plate at least. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:40 PM) I don't like Flowers, but those last 2 pitches were not strikes. That last one was about as bad as it gets.
