  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 19, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) I applied to Loyola last year for their part time MBA program, it came down at the time between going for it then or buying a condo. I went with the condo, and after looking at more options I'm working on saving up for a cheaper program like UIC. It just isn't worth paying so much, especially what schools like NW want, for a part time MBA. UIC is actually really reasonable and I'd like to do their weekend program which seems like a better fit for my schedule. I go to UIC, I almost always prefer public or private unless they are just throwing money at you.

  3. PhD can be from 5-7 years. I've only completed year one. I'm 100% sure I'll return. Hell I took a break before starting graduate school this year. I graduated in 2007 and started in graduate school in 2015; so that was at least 8 years. RR, that's one of the reasons why I worked as long as I did before returning because I knew I wouldn't be able to handle that type of pressure right after finishing.
  4. QUOTE (Tex @ May 19, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) Congrats. I am expecting my acceptance soon. Whether or not to accept is still up in the air. Do you have your masters? Does the program allow you to earn a masters along the way? You can master's out but I just completed my first year. I just wanted to pound away some debts and save some money before coming back. I took a huge paycut coming back to school (obviously) and I don't think I was prepared for it. I absolutely want to finish my degree but I also can't focus if I'm worried about how I am going to pay for s***.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) Good for you dude, I didnt even last a year in a PHD program. What did you study? For me I just need to take a break, work for like a year, pay some bills, and get back into the fray. I can't really make ends meet with the salary they pay.
  6. Can a PhD student take a sabbatical?
  7. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 18, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) Our bullpen is filled with a bunch of guys who don't have much "stuff." No real fireballers, etc. Other than Robertson, I don't trust a darn guy in their bullpen right now. Not everyone can have a Betances, Miller, and Chapman monster. Albers (up until his collapse), Jones, and Robertson have been pretty solid.
  8. You lean on your ace to stop the bleeding. Sale does that.
  9. Swinging at balls and taking strikes. Lawrie is a K machine.
  10. Gattis is so trash, how did Albers give up that bomb last night.
  11. Lawrie better hit a bomb this inning.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 18, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) This may have already been answered but it was not a reviewable call. Ventura made his case and the ump didn't change his mind. The ump blew it for sure. Albers then made a two strike pitch mistake and that was it. Our bullpen has been bad the last few games and only Sale has saved us. But, Robertson looked good. Albers has blown like three in a row now. We were in all those games though and I believe things will straighten out. Duke blew a game too. You could say Putnam did last night.
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 17, 2016 -> 11:39 PM) I don't think he is going to be some offensive all-star out there. I simply think he can produce just as well if not better then Rollins can this year while providing better offense.. Bases loaded one out in a tie game in the 7th and Rollins strikes out. Bottom of the 9th, 1st and 3rd, 0 outs down by 1 run and Saladino hits a SF.. I know it is just one game but shouldn't the veteran be able to put the ball in play there and score a big run? Yeah Rollins just didn't get it done there which is ridiculous. You have one job to and Saladino just executes better in those situations.
  14. Yeah if that's the case, that's super f***ed.
  15. So Springer goes back to first and Gattis still hits the bomb out of here. Sox lose still, right?
  16. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ May 17, 2016 -> 11:10 PM) Yes. Saladino's error was the difference. And I'm tired of accepting two generally useless guys who do more or less the same things, just because they do occasional good things. At most, we need one of Saladino or Sanchez here. We do not need both. Saladino had two RBIs tonight you pleb. Be upset at the loss but don't blame Saladino or Sanchez who actually produced good ABs when it mattered.
