  1. A little off topic but I just thought of something somewhat interesting. What if Trump and Bernie both do 3rd party runs and it's Hilary and Rubio/Cruz/Kasich/Romney(etc.) Who would win that election?
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) Ryan isn't a traditional tea party type. He's actually a policy wonk and takes leadership very seriously. The opposite of Trump. Just as the socialist tag hurts Sanders, the tea party tag will hurt Ryan. This is my opinion of course.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) Interesting, Turner's first 4 outs came on 4 pitches. Take notes, Sale. Shiiiiiit that means Turner was relying on the sieve defense. Risky business.
  4. Paul Ryan is a tea party nutter. Romney would be the logical choice but they really should roll with Kasich.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 10:41 AM) He's moderate on social issues (except abortion) but his tax plan, while not nearly as far right as Cruz/Rubio, is still not very friendly to the middle/lower classes. He seems more willing to compromise across the aisle though which would never happen with the others, especially not Cruz. That's one of the reasons I feel people could vote for him. He doesn't have that bad s*** crazy vibe that Rubio, Cruz, and Trump have. When pressed about gays yesterday he said, I try to love my neighbor or something. He didn't judge or condemn, (atleast he put on a show that he didn't for the audience) and that showed good character. That non wiggle room for abortions might hurt him though and his somewhat misogynistic views.
  6. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 03:56 AM) I thought that now the race was down to four, Kasich would start getting attacks from the others but he didn't. Maybe once he wins Ohio . . . I'm just hoping that now he's the only one left with the three clowns that he'll start getting more attention. Clearly his strategy is win Ohio and hopefully a few neighboring states and get the the convention with no majority. Then he can make the case (correctly) that he has the best chance of the four to beat Hillary. If only Trump had the slightest bit of humility, realized this and threw his support behind Kasich, that would be his best chance of preventing Hillary from becoming President. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA Trump is an egomaniac. The dude really doesn't care about GOP, he cares about himself.
  7. Ladies and gentlemen, your Republican candidates for presidency. If people don't see that Kasich is the only f***ing shot, then the GOP deserve every f***ing thing that's about to happen to them.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) That was New Hampshire. I thought Trump won NH.
  9. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 11:40 AM) I like you. Then again, you've never stared at me, either. Have you?! Sorry but pretty boy blue eyes have no effect on me.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 11:24 AM) Then some media outlet will take pettie's line at face value and use it to recycle the controversy somehow...and throw all the stereotypes about the White Sox fanbase into the mix. Or they can just dredge up half the yahoo comments on any article dealing with race, like Kanye West and the whole Zuckerberg $1 billion loan twitter controversy. That kind of stuff is 100x scarier, or just any general comments online from detractors of the president thinly-guised as political or states' rights/"freedom and liberty" philosophy. Of course, those with legitimate complaints rightfully bristle at being lumped in as racist...and it goes around and around. I remember a similar controversy when Beckham complained how inconvenienced he was by the president's entourage/detours/security details getting to the ballpark and it came across not unlike the Eaton tweet as being possibly racist or disrespectful. Just better to keep your mouth shut as an athlete in most cases. The internet due to it being a beacon of anonymity, allows people to say whatever abhorrent s*** they want. A lot of those idiots online would piss their pants saying some of the racial s*** they do in front of real people. My stare alone strikes fear into the white devils' hearts and I'm a pretty nice guy.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) I blame baseball's lack of diversity "If Babe Ruth played against some minorities, he wouldn't be hailed as the great player he is today"
  12. Easy for a white guy to say some s*** like this when his ancestors were probably lynching up blacks centuries ago. /troll
  13. Split ticket is dumb. The only way that works if it both candidates are super moderates and are basically piggy backing on the two party system for support.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 11:52 PM) Let's face it. Democrats on here can rip me all they want, but Hillary is just as awful a candidate as the Republicans are throwing out there. How come this isn't getting more attention? How come African Americans don't want to hear it about Hillary? Everybody's already made up their minds she's perfect in regard to issues regarding African Americans. This kid speaks up and this gets no attention at all. Look all I'm saying is Hillary is an awful candidate. Bernie is pretty bad himself if he wants only socialism. Cruz, Trump and Rubio obviously are horrific as well. Kasisch is the only possible candidate worth voting for IMO. But please agree with me that Hillary is as rotten as the rest.
  15. Didn't that high tax rate work because companies would just give bonuses/stuff to their employees to get below a certain threshold?
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 21, 2016 -> 11:33 PM) I'm trying to spark discussion, giving the pro Hillary types chances to tell me why she's not evil. Well gregg, bmags gave an explanation a few pages back in this thread if I recall. Next, it seems a lot of people on this forum are not as pro-Hillary as you think they are. Relax man, take a shot of tequila, and enjoy the political ride.
  17. Bull did nothing at the deadline. Gar is finished.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 02:07 AM) I'll keep this brief and not go in to much detail, but.....how many years younger than a guy is "too young" would you surmise? Or is it probably more likely based on a sliding scale. Long story short, I am talking to a girl younger than me and while I feel weird about it, no one I work with seems to care. It's my family/friends that I worry about. I'm almost afraid to introduce her to them for fear they will question her age. For anyone who doesn't know my age, she's 18. How old would I be if I was too old for her? I'll hang up and listen. My 0.02 cents, just don't do it. I'm inclined to agree with Rock, just have some fun and move on.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) No lol Best nip that s*** in the bud. Overly critical people need to be told they are doing something that's not kosher as soon as possible. You do need to sit her down and tell her your thoughts. If she is not willing to accept it, might be best to move on.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 09:28 AM) A closer election in 2008 at least makes Obama slightly vulnerable in 2012. As it played out, nobody had a chance to beat him in 2012. Obama was vulnerable for defeat in 2012. However, the Republicans simply do not know how to put candidates forward that make anyone other than Republicans, excited.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 10:46 AM) How long were you dating? I'm kind of in the same boat that everything I do is critiqued. I've been dating my girlfriend for 5 years and she wants to move in after I graduate in May, but I really don't want to because I don't have a job lined up yet and no money for rent on a place. Just last week she said I was spreading mayonnaise on my sandwich wrong. I dropped the knife and walked out of the kitchen. Ok that's just super f***ed. Was she trolling you?
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 05:31 PM) Thanks. We met and there was a great instant connection and we started dating, but just the day-to-day things weren't compatible. Mostly centered around I'm extremely laid back and she's a little more high strung (not in a bad way, just a description). We just didn't really connect, every thing I wore was critiqued, she'd always want to go out and do "fun" things and dinner and a movie, or an occasional relaxing night wasn't really for her. So just things like that, as you said "personality conflict". That really sums it up. We discussed issues, I'd say I'd try harder to do more "fun" things, but it just didn't work out. Weird mix of, damn I miss her, but fully realizing it would never work, even if one of us changed for a short time all the issues would pop up in short order. You liked her company but I really think you made the right call. You can find a girl that's more up to your speed and that will really help your relationship flourish. There are billions of people on the planet; there are multiple compatible partners for everyone if you ask me.
