QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) Given that he's a rookie, I flat out want to see production from him before he moves up in the order, unless the team reaches "throw in the towel" point. Fair enough but seriously, I like watching Sanchez bat with runners on versus no runners on. He's been a lot of better I believe.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2015 -> 12:07 PM) To note, sanchez is 5 for his first 24, good for a .208 batting average with 0 walks. Putting that player 2nd doesn't scream "improved offense!" to me. I think if you put Sanchez in the two hole he may be a little bit more patient. He's a smart baseball guy.

Yeah I'm about at the point where you need to shake things up. The line up needs guys who will make contact when people get on. Not K machines like LaRoche and Melky with RISP. I would move Sanchez up behind Eaton and bat Alexei 9th. Move Melky before the C spot. Then Abreu, Garcia, LaRoche Becks/Conor

That sucked. Danks is a really bad pitcher. He'll have his good starts but they'll mostly be s***. We just gotta put on the shades and deal with it. They got people on tonight but the hitters failed miserably with situational hitting. -

QUOTE (flavum @ May 21, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Once they got to 18-17, I don't think it's much to ask for them to come home from the long trip at 26-26. So it's not a must win, but at least go 8-7 the next 15. Truthfully, a nice 5-game winning streak wouldn't suck right now. -

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 21, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Right? He came up to me and said, "that's my ball" and I looked at all my friends and two were cracking up and my one mature friend said "don't" because he knew nothing good could come of it. I just told him unless a kid walks up in the next few minutes it's my ball. Then he went back to his seat and started saying I should have to buy him a beer and "that's how we do it here." It was the 8th inning and I said if he grabbed a beer man I would buy him a beer. Gotta love a thirty something year old man who comes to the game by himself with a catcher's glove telling me "how we do it" at the Sox stadium. Yeesh was he drunk or just a chode? -

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 21, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) I went to the game last night, now 0-5, and got a ball from a Abreu. I was sitting first row and the guy a few seats over was adamant that Abreu was trying to give him the ball. He pestered me about it for 5 minutes. This man was > 30 years old and brought a catchers mitt to the game so he could catch a foul ball. If you are this guy and you are lurking on SoxTalk please, ditch the catcher's glove. Who does that. Whoever catches the ball catches the ball. -

Jennings just wasn't throwing strikes tonight. He walked guys and got into hitter counts and just failed. You can't really crucify anyone. STOP f***ING WALKING PEOPLE. -

QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 20, 2015 -> 06:08 AM) Carlos Rodon (1-0, 4.96 ERA) vs. Shaun Marcum (0-0, 1.80 ERA) Hopefully Rodon and the Sox can turn it around tonight. HickoryHuskers lead us to 6 straight wins with his game threads. I think I can do the same, maybe better. I'm OK with that and I bet he would be too. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 19, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) Yes. I was going to say he'll need to have a career to make enough money to support the family. Must be a hard decision. If he's close to making the bigs, he could make a lot of money in a short period of time. If he's not going to make it, better to get going on a real job. But Party City won't cut it $$ wise. Baseball teams should cut out the "clubhouse fees." Embarrassing a billion dollar industry makes the minor leaguers pay for peanut butter sandwiches. The NBA is quite different, NFL too. No minor league. Just join the big leagues out of "college" and rake in the money. My god that salary is brutal. Am I reading that right that that is what he gets weekly? -
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 19, 2015 -> 01:19 PM) Too early for this thread but Aramis Ramirez makes a bunch of sense for the Sox, Brewers and Ramirez himself. Imagine the possibilities... "Ground ball to the left side, gets past the diving Ramirez, Ramirez backends tosses it over to first and makes the nice back handed play." or "Ramirez lines one into right, Ramirez looking to take third and he will. A two out single by Ramirez keeps it going." mmmmm my ding ding dong

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 19, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) Opening Day - Noesi starts, horrible game. Rodon's debut - Noesi starts, Rodon disapoints, Sox lose handedly. Thursday night against KC - Great game, Sale was Sale, the fight, Sox choke. Thursday day game against Detroit - Quintana was inefficient but effecive, Lobstein'd I have been to four series. Each series that Sox won 2 of 3 and I went to the game they lost. Sox have been scored 19-5 while I am there. I suck. That was still an awesome game even though they lost.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 19, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) No it's not. Sacrifice bunting there is stupid and gives you less of a chance to win. I would have criticized Robin for bunting. I loved his answer in post game. He said they had 3 tries to get a single. I will never understand the infatuation with giving away outs. If you get a guy on 3rd with 1 out, that is less pressure on the next guy to get a hit and to just find something he can lift into the air. It changes the entire dynamic of the AB. I hate Soto's swing and Alexei is one lazy mother f***er.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 19, 2015 -> 03:02 AM) I just for the life of me cannot see why a great country like ours would put Hillary Clinton in charge. I mean are you serious?? David Letterman is retiring. Isn't Hillary older than Dave? Why would a country with I-phones, amazing technology want somebody that old to be president? I just don't get it. I saw Bill Clinton on Letterman the other day and he seemed OLD. I mean, is Hillary prepared to lead us in a world with all these international tensions (beheadings, nuke threats, threats on our own soil, etc?) Why in the hell is Hillary Clinton a good choice to be president is all I want to know??? I've said it before and will say it until somebody explains it to me ... why is Hillary being awarded the oval office as some bizarre lifetime achievement award? Give her a participation trophy and let somebody with young ideas run the country. I just don't get what people see in Hillary, who by all accounts is one, mean elderly woman. How much proof of this do we need??? Disclaimer: forgive me for the age bias thing. Perhaps I didn't word it with compassion but do we really want an elderly woman to be our president for 8 years??? Are you all going to be jumping for joy the day she wins the election?? If so, please tell Greg WHY??? Enlighten me. Did you really just refer to yourself in the third person? I don't know why you think Hilary is a shoe in. Wait for the candidates to emerge, see a few debates/caucuses and then see where the wind blows. 2016 election is a long way off right meow.
