  1. That and those attack ads probably have merit about him laying off workers and obsessing over profits. I mean, that's business albeit probably not a very ethical way of doing it; and people are going to blow a gasket if he does something to that helps his rich buddies and leaves the middle class voter out to dry.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 06:39 PM) The Bears just won that game with Sharpton, Jones and Greene as LBs. Think about that Is that the Falcons being bad though?
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 06:21 PM) Intercepting passes on 4th down is a pet peeve of mine. Water under the bridge at this point, it might have sealed the game.
  4. Damn Jay, one week you break our hearts and the next you show how brilliant of a QB you are. Seriously, wtf.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 06:54 AM) Having a D next to your name in IL is 45% of the battle. All you have to do is make up about 6% of the remaining vote to secure a victory. The fact that Quinn is having this much trouble against an out of touch rich guy that nobody can relate too shows the ineptness on both sides if you ask me. It's Rauner. He's old, white, and rich. He can't do anything about that. Plus all of those attack ads just make him look a lot worse. Quinn has sucked so hard that people might just stay home.
  6. Rodgers is just too good. He never panics, he's just clutch.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 11:14 PM) If the Republicans don't take the governorship, this proves that they are just completely inept in IL. My totally anecdotal read on things is that nobody likes Quinn Rauner should win in theory but this is once again the Republicans failing to put a candidate people can relate to. He is a billionaire that has done all the taboo things that's rich people do... like sneer at the poor.
  8. De Aza is hitting pretty well in the postseason.
  9. Is this Rauner's first go at politics?
  10. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 03:58 PM) No it was pretty bad. Basically every question was answered with the exact same stuff from the attack ads that are playing constantly. It basically went like this for the whole debate: Moderator:"So, what are your plans to cut the budgetary deficit in our state?" Quinn: "Bruce Rauner had a company that outsourced jobs to India" Moderator: "But what about the pension crisis?" Quinn: "Billionaire Bruce Rauner pays $150,000 a year to be in an exclusive wine club, but wants to abolish the minimum wage? That's extreme, and Rauner is too extreme for Illinois." That's golden. What about Rauner?
  11. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 03:53 PM) How many times did Pat Quinn call himself the 'jobs governor'? Wordplay to try to influence the masses. I hope people in Illinois wake the f*** up and realize how fleeced they are getting.
  12. He doesn't sport his Eddy Lacy avatar in an attempt to blend in.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) I would love if someone could explain hockey spreads in less than 250 words to me. Spreads are spreads, right?
  14. Any of you guys good at picking hockey games? Wanted help doing parlay bets for the season.
  15. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 01:48 PM) My daughter is starting a job working at Little Caesar’s near our house. She goes to orientation on Saturday morning but she also has to complete some sort of food certification course online. They said it is a new law in Illinois that went into affect in July of this year. Cost is $15 but they are giving her some sort of voucher or something that makes it $10. I had never heard of this before but I researched it and apparently it’s legit. http://www.illinoisrestaurants.org/?page=F...afetyChangesHdl Seems like another money grab. Why on earth do you need a certificate when you're employer should be training you on it since their asses are on the line.
  16. I started this temp job at an enviromental lab about a month and half ago. I get a call for a position in a pharma lab (most of my experience is in this area) that is going to pay $5-$10 more an hour. I am planning to go back to school next fall so I am only planning on working full time until probably next August. Both positions are temp assignments but I believe the one I'm currently on has the potential to go permanent; the other position is just straight up temporary I believe. Even if my current company offered me a permanent role, I would have to decline it. I would ask to remain a temp since I'm leaving anyway. My gut is telling me to just hold the line and stay at this company for a year instead of hopping to the pharma company. Then on the other hand, if I don't get into graduate school and I have to work another year, the pharma company would be ideal to work in. Being an adult is difficult.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 09:54 AM) I think even in the dome with a really good team, they might do better. It will never happen, but I'm totally in favor of just getting rid of teams. Instead of trying to move them from one city to another. Let's just get rid of them. Yeah the NFL would never ever approve of that because of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 8, 2014 -> 10:09 PM) So Brownback, the loon Republican in Kansas who has hurt this state in many ways already, catches a break and probably will win. What did the Democrat do? Heaven forbid he went to a strip club when he was single in his 20s. Oh the horror. Looks like the conservative voters who abhor strip clubs will use that as a character flaw of the democrat. What a joke. p.s. This is why a friend of mine, who now is an important federal judge, never drank or smoked pot in college and never picked up a girl for a one-night stand. He'd only be with a college coed in a proper dating situation. He knew he had aspirations of being big-time and did not want to do anything that could come back to haunt him. He led an impeccably clean lifestyle so nobody could do something like this to him someday. He once confessed to me that indeed was the method to his madness, not giving people anything to use against him someday. Brownback being re-elected? Wow. I am pretty sure most men have been to strip clubs and those who say otherwise are straight up lying.
  19. Any of you guys wear tie clips? If so is it worth shelling out decent money for one? Recommendations would be appreciated as well.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 09:47 AM) I think the Rams screwed up first by locking themselves into that terrible dome. There should be a sister stadium right near the new Busch stadium. St Louis fans would be there if it was a competitive team and worth going. Unfortunately they combined to have terrible teams and a terrible stadium all at once, and now they look to get out. If any team needs to leave their current place, it is Jacksonville first. There is no reason to have a team there. At all. I agree, how the NFL has allowed that to exist is beyond me.
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 09:32 AM) There are tickets for the Rams game available for 10.00. Ten bucks and still no one goes. I can't imagine L.A could do any worse. $10 to go to a football game? That is sick.
