  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) I think the Tigers have another year or two, but who knows if age and weight are catching up to Miggy or if he's been banged up. Victor Martinez is not going to do this again and he may leave for greener pastures anyways. JD Martinez has been a revelation for them, but how likely is he to even come close to repeating the year he's had? There are a lot of question marks for them moving forward, you're correct. Still, I don't even worry about that. Depending on the moves made, I don't think it's unreasonable for the Sox to be a team projected to win 85 games next year prior to the season and at that level, it's only 4 or 5 breaks over the course of a year that can push you up to 90 wins. A bullpen that could hold leads and I think we're +10 games over this season.
  2. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 06:53 AM) It's not a huge mystery. Just about every policy the Republicans have is not beneficial to lower-income people. Yet they somehow manage to woo all of those poor and religious rednecks.
  3. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 06:00 PM) Because the Republicans don't give them free stuff, silly. Damn Alpha Dog. I generally like your posts and I really hope this one was done in jest. I'm black and I don't want free stuff but I would like it if Republicans could do without the whites only club. There may not be a sign that says it but if you look at a RNC, you see a sea of salt. I was at a posh wedding a couple of years ago. White rich people galore and definitely Republicans. They asked me what I did for a living and most of them practically spit out their drinks because they probably expected me to say I was unemployed or worked as a janitor. They are simply out of touch, that's why they can't win.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 10:58 PM) No it isn't. What is wrong with a group of people getting together at 5 p.m. every Sunday in Lawrence, Kansas, packing the pews, acting nice to each other while worshiping the entity they believe to be God? Many of you hate going to Mass/church services, refuse to go to such and like Bill Maher, do not believe in the higher power. I repeat ... what is wrong with people being polite, happy, nice to each other for an hour and 10 minutes while listening to some good music and a nice message from the priest/pastor/minister? That is not evil. I respect you all for forgoing church/Mass/religion, but I think you are missing something honorable and peaceful. You may be better than me in all regards, but I do enjoy the peace and quiet and niceness of an hour at church and sometimes more when I get in the habit of going to the 5:15 daily Mass at the local college chapel. Religion is not the root of all evil. That's nice greg, but not all people who are religious are to themselves like you and your church members. I get fire and brimstone talk from Christians; Islamists who want to gut me like a pig because I'm unbeliever; and Jews who just ignore me because I'm not Jewish therefore, irrelevant. I played a video game once where the mission was in Jerusalem, Israel. One of the people said, "Welcome to Jerusalem, the birthplace of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam." To which your character replies, "So this is where all that peace and love comes from?" QFT.
  5. Damn so what's the verdict. This s*** is better than a soap opera.
  6. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 03:42 PM) Called him weak For intentionally throwing at VMART? Yeah I would say that shows weakness.
  7. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 03:27 PM) Wow Ausmus Sale is really shaking in his boots after that lol What did he say?
  8. Is Sale narcissitic that he thinks VMART who has owned him over his career is stealing signs?
  9. Religion is the root of all evil.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 11:42 PM) I'm worried because they have great starting pitching that could carry them to the WS again. Nah the Tigers will get ousted in the first round or wildcard these year.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) That's like saying the CLE Indians SHOULD have won the 2005 Joe Crede walkoff game and made the playoffs instead of collapsing in the final week after fighting so hard for six weeks to catch up. My point was that if the Royals think the Sox are going to lay down, they are mistaken.
  12. You guys are complaining about meaningless games.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 09:17 PM) Lousy at bat by Carlos. Took the high pitch to center for the pop up. Damn. Sox gave it a good ol fashioned try. One hit from victory Carlos failed. Oh well. How do you figure?
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 01:44 PM) That's what the Tigers thought last night with Bassitt on the hill, an inexperienced rookie with a 5+ ERA and still looking for his first win as a starter. There's a LOT more pressure on Felix Hernandez to stop the bleeding for the Mariners. I think winning the final game against the Tigers, almost coming back to tie CLE and then essentially knocking them out of the post-season discussion has helped the Royals to relax a little bit and breathe easier...they're only one game behind the Tigers, and the Royals also feel very confident about matching up with the White Sox. And isn't Sale going to pitch against DET and miss KC? The royals should have lost 2 games to the Sox last week.
  15. Sox have a good chance to play spoiler down the stretch. Tigers will crush the sox tonight so the Royals have to be on their A-game.
  16. Was the suspended game made up in Cleveland?
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 19, 2014 -> 07:55 AM) rabbit, that was so n00b i cant believe you did that. Take his admin away.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 09:22 PM) You have to admit, though, that Obama and Bill Clinton are a campaign manager's dream. They are great looking men. They look great on TV. They are very very likeable. Hillary, meanwhile ... I cant believe you all don't agree with me about the Bob Dole comparison. She, like Mr. Dole, is cranky at times, known probably more for a scowl than a smile. I am amazed that the Democratic candidate for president has it so easy nowadays. The Republicans are un-electable. That party is so out of date it is unelectable no matter who the Demos toss out there. They just need to dangle a minority out there that actually has a shot. You can't keep trotting the likes of McCain and Romney and expect to win an election.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 02:55 PM) Pitchers have 45 PAs against Kershaw. They have 3 hits (1 2B), 1 BB, 21 K, and 5 sacrifice bunts. .077/.100/.103 So Kershaw has pitched approximately 15 innings worth of *yawn How many pitchers has Sale gone up against this year?
  20. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 02:20 PM) So do all the other pitchers in the running for the NL Cy Young. I was saying that for someone who thinks Kershaw is better than Sale.
  21. Kershaw only has to deal with 8 hitters though.
  22. It just does not matter. Oh well.
  23. Man can I go to sleep extremely happy tonight. Ugly ass game but the Bears grinded it out.
