  1. I don't know he could have just said he didn't like Jason and left it at that for discussion, but then he went into the social media diatribe and the rails broke off.
  2. I'm kind of a noob, what do these numbers mean?
  3. Job Option A: Full time position, OK pay, great stability but somewhat of dead end job that you can coast through easily Job Option B: Contract to Hire, Great pay, potentially learning great skills for the future, tough, unknown future
  4. https://newarena.com/mlb/power-ranking-the-universal-dh-options-for-all-30-mlb-teams/?amxt=az_ref_2_inview_vat_psh&utm_source=az_yh&utm_campaign=265166&utm_term=HOMEPAGE_US~c~yahoo.com&utm_medium=azyh-az_ref_2_inview_vat_psh I didn't know where else to put this.
  5. 60 games is going to be interesting. The injuries are what could really make or break a team. Bet Rivers has a mobile app for betting. I started using it, it feels weird doing things legally now ?
  6. Candace Owens is ONE AA opinion who is ostracized heavily by AA community for her Uncle Ruckus level shenanigans and rightfully so. She tries so hard to boot lick for white people it's disgusting. I am not invalidating all her points as she makes some sense sometimes... but her attacking Floyd as a criminal but in the same breath saying well the police are wrong but Floyd isn't a saint is waffling to the infinity degree. Her point is useless because it adds nothing to discussion of police brutality. Yet right wingers cling to her like she is offering something novel. LMAO Most AA don't want white people to feel guilty about their ancestors, they just want fucking equal treatment. You know white people are so successful? Because they have fucking hope! They have both their parents usually with good paying jobs and resources to make sure their kids are taking care thoroughly for the world. Case in point, me! I had the "stereotypical" white family setup and my siblings as well. Guess what, all of us are college graduates with good jobs. Our kids if we choose to have them will have those opportunities as well. I realize I am lucky af and I extremely fucking grateful for my parents. They came from poverty ridden areas with parents that did not graduate from college and could have easily went down that path. I would probably be another black male that white people deem useless and lazy because I wasn't raised to know better. My mom doesn't even know who her fucking dad was. Her mom was an alcoholic and she studied her ass in poor underfunded CPS school to get the hell of out of Caprini Green and try to make something of herself. It took her own resilience to do that... that is rare. My pops is just a poor southern Illinois black hick who was poor but he is could have been about that life too if he didn't just decide to do things differently. Black people have been beaten down like dogs 400+ years and now white people are like OK we've been "behaving for the last 60 years! That is progress, right buddy?!??! Give black people the opportunity for good paying jobs and hope, not just resources for programs that keep them in a perpetual cycle of poverty. All the poverty ridden problems with blacks are generational... they didn't have the opportunities to build wealth or the ability to teach their kids like white people. I would love to see what the next two or three generations of blacks look like, I imagine they will be very similar to white people if white people would give them a fair fucking shake. /rant over
  7. Wait, who dafuq is guilty about their skin color? I haven't heard one person say I'm ashamed to be white here. Please quote the respective post.
  8. So the dude risked his life by falling harder than he was pushed...
  9. The amount of Covid spread... just wow lol
  10. I don't think Butter is racist, I think he's just a very egocentric individual. It's a form of insecurity on his part.
  11. FWIW the history books paint the native Americans as if they agreed to give the pale skin their lands.
  12. I will be honest, I'm an exception. I was raised in a pearly white central Illinois city. At the time of my youth both my parents were together so I had a father figure growing up. I had a good education, went to college and graduate school and received my degrees. I am not a mind reader so I don't know about the list of questions you stated, but from my own personal experiences I can tell you it's more prevalent than you think. I haven't been stopped by cops too much in my life but that's because I'm very incognito and avoid them whenever possible. I have had white people make numerous racist comments in front of me but exclude me because I "act" white... I integrated so well, they thought I was one of them for a second. I do not think all white people are racists. I think it's ingrained into the fabric of this country. We had a civil war in this country to end slavery that is still talked about today as some type of states right trope which is utter BS. Racism isn't as overtly malicious as you think, it's a thought process. The purse clutchers, the people who watch you as enter their neighborhood, the people following you when you enter a retail space, and the cops who ask you if you're in the "right" predominantly white neighborhood late at night. White people should just do their best not to diminish the experience of black people. There are bad apples of all races but not all black people are trying to blame "whitey" for their problems. I think some people want to defend their country no matter what and assume they got to where they were by hard work and being honorable. It could not be further from the truth. Understanding one's history is important so that we can do better than our predaccessors and actually progress society.
  13. Gave me chills down my spine. Thanks for sharing. I'm also an AA male and I sometimes want to believe if I just do what white people do all will be well (aka the bootstrap myth). It simply doesn't matter, they will always see us as inferior and I have come to accept that. Racism today isn't at overt as it was back then but it's absolutely still running rampant in this country. I sometimes forget about the black Wall Street in Tulsa and Rosewood. Their destruction just proves that white people never wanted blacks to integrate, they just wanted black's free labor and to boot them out after building their "freedom utopia". I am actually surprised they didn't just genocide the blacks after they were done with them. I'm sure some wish they had.
  14. How do you guys feel about at will employment? Do you feel it's mutually beneficial for employer and employee or only good for the employer? The reason I ask is because I was let go from a job in the past but they never told me a reason. I ask this question for growth potential purposes but if they withhold the info then how can you realistically get better? I know it's not their prerogative to share but it just seems odd. I know employment is probably a legalese mindfield and they don't want to give you any information to sue but I'm just curious how as a worker you can protect yourself situations like this?
  15. Is that legal though? He should just send whatever they need and then rip them later accordingly. That can be his "reward" for doing this duties.
  16. Help people like me? Where did I say I needed help in my post? Kids these days and their failure to read things never ceases to amaze me. You keep living in your egocentric bubble and pray you don't have a job transition that leaves you without coverage for a month or two; because obviously your job and employer tied insurance is absolutely guaranteed to you... If people could just buy decent affordable health insurance, the above scenario and mine would be a non-issue. That's all I was trying to say in my original post but I guess I should blame myself for not making it more simple... c'est la vie
  17. I typically avoid futures bets like that. They are lottery tickets, but it's kind of nice to see how the season progresses and you start biting your nails that one of them may hit haha. I will probably bet on single games on the Sox during the regular season. They look like they are worthy of some homer bets after a long awaited stint.
  18. You can screen who wants to stay with you and pick people who have good reviews from other airbnb hosts. I am pretty picky with the one I run for a family.
  19. I am still waiting on how Illinois legislation is going to go about sports betting earnings but I am looking to revive this thread when it goes live and help people make a few shekels to pay off those student loans, mortgages and whatever else might you might need. If you any of you are bettors, we can work together and pound some bookies. ?
  20. Regression was always going to happen let's hope it doesn't regress too much.
  21. Airbnb but for only short stints?
  22. Yeah, I rather not have to rely on my car for a second income if possible but I appreciate the thoughts.
  23. I don't need your patronizing comment, son. I'm saying we can do better and we need to stop putting our heads in the sand.
  24. Anyone have any good ideas/prospects for weekend only second jobs?
