  1. The spring training schedule separately for $20 so I was pretty upset when I found out it was included in the full season package. Anyhow, with our service provider removing ESPN (apparently no one but me watches baseball), MLB.TV is my only baseball option nowadays. A LOT of money though!

It wouldn't happen, but if it did, I wouldn't be surprised because I really have zero faith in professional sports players anymore.

I agree with this. I have absolutely no trust in athletes today. As long as they are not caught, no problem, but I wouldn't be surprised IF anyone in Sox was caught with PED's. I don't think it will happen but it also wouldn't surprise me!

Come to Europe and you'll see that nearly nobody here is a fat slob like Herm was- primarily because they're not having the "4th meal" at Taco Bell and they don't think that ordering a filet-o-fish meal with a large coke at McDonalds is a light lunch.

Depends on where you are in Europe. UK isn't doing so well ;)

Just wait until you start looking into daycare.

That's not worrying me, lot's of economical coverage for that here in Sweden. :)

  5. My wife and I are about 15 months away from our first kid (that's the plan anyway, both of us finishing college first), and even though none of this is going to change my mind I have to say all these costs sounds crazy. And really scary!

Something else we are forgetting...if they expand to 32 teams, do they realign like the NFL with 4 divisions of 4 teams in each league? Or do they contract to 2 8-team divisions in each league? I don't like either of those scenarios either, but the NFL version is probably better.

With 4x4 we would get rid of that extra playoff spot. Not sure what teams in the northeast would think about that option though ;)

  7. I enjoy Hawk if the team is playing well, otherwise he gets too quiet. He also incredibly repetitive and the "can of corn" drives me nuts sometimes. Still, he's so incredibly White Sox-biased that I just don't worry much about all the repetitiveness. Home bias is SO importan t to me and I don't think any replacement would be able to beat that currently.

  8. Thought I'd re-use this topic. If not appreciated I'll just see myself out ;)

Also new here. White Sox-fan for about 10 years, not really sure why I ended up with White Sox but I did... From Sweden, maybe the only WS-fan in the country. Never met any other fan anyway! Baseball is not really the most popular sport over here but I ended up with a baseball TV-channel when I moved to a new apartment in 2005. Not sure if I could have chosen a better year to move!!

Been watching a local team this year which got my interest in the sport back up and now all I talk about with people is baseball. Luckily I have a very understanding wife (who's American, it helps) and a few friends who do not hate the sport at least.

Anyway, I hope I'll be able to take part in the discussions on here. I love the sport but I lack a lot of knowledge about both the sport and White Sox so I will probably mostly be a silent observer to begin with :)
