Lebron's been great when he's playing off the Pick and Roll with Tina Fey, and can either attack the rim downhill, or kick it out to an open shooter like Delly, Smith or Shumpert. Other than that, I think his shooting percentage as a low post player against Iggy has been pretty bad. GS have actually defended him pretty well this series I'd say. Cleveland's up on this series purely because of what they are doing on the defensive end. Golden State is not going to win if Harrison Barnes is not making a shot, Draymond Green can't stretch the floor with his dodgy back, and they're getting nothing really out of Bogut either. At somepoint, one of those 3 guys is going to have to step it up on the offensive end, otherwise too much is going to come down to Curry + Thompson getting at least 50 b/w em.
-
The Refs should have just gotten that call right in the first place, the closest official was very close and should have been able to see that. Unfortunately, there's been a fair few of those mistakes in the series so far.
-
So here's a question. Kyrie Irving doesn't get injured in game 1. Would the Cavs still be up 2-1 right now?
-
Scott Brooks had argubly 2 top 5 NBA players on his team along with an elite defensive 4, and they couldn't win a championship. At somepoint you just have to move on, because it wasn't as if they didn't have the talent to get the job done. If he coached say the Denver Nuggets instead over the past few years, I don't think that's a playoff team. I compare Donovan to Brad Stevens. Would you rather have Brad Stevens or Scott Brooks as a coach?
-
Yes, I think everyone out there knows how terrible of a "X's and O's" Coach Scott Brooks is. That's why Orlando fans are actually relieved we ended up with Skiles instead of Brooks, simply for that reason (if you can believe that). I know Bogut has been taking some shots at Jackson this season about how he did as a coach, I think GS were smart to move on when they did. I'm curious to see how the Bulls will look offensively now under Hoiberg. As I've said previously, the NBA is now all about spacing, ball movement and 3PT Shooting on the offensive end, and I think under Hoiberg, all of those things should at least improve from what they were under Thibs. Mirotic is probably the one you look at and think if he gets 30mins of playing time a game, he could make a serious leap with his numbers next season as that stretch 4 that has become so sought after these days.

All New Soccer Thread ~ All Levels ~ All Leagues
DBAHO replied to Texsox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
So just for a bit of background here, does everyone who posts in this thread have a favorite English Premier League team they go for (or at least in Europe)? To kick it off, I'm a West Ham supporter (East London team), and have been from about 2000 onwards. They move into the Olympic Stadium in about 15 months from now, and are looking to break into the top 4 eventually (easier said than done). -
Was thinking of staying up for this one, pretty glad I didn't in the end. Rafa just hasn't looked right all season, I think unfortunately, his body is a shell of what it once was, no-one has punished themselves more over the last 5-7 years. I know he's had a lot of knee issues lately, and really just hasn't gotten into a groove all season long, hence why he was ranked #6 coming into the tournament. I hope we get to see him at his best again, but I have serious question marks whether we ever will again unfortunately. Also, I think Murray is a sneaky chance to beat Djokovic, he's been fantastic on clay this season, and he'll want revenge for the AUS Open Final. Could see this going to 5 sets at least.

For the Hawks to win on the road, being down in the 3rd period, and Toews and Kane not getting a point, that's such a huge, huge result. Not sure if anyone noticed, being the Hockey Novice I am, Tampa Bay really just sat back and back early in the 3rd period, really just trying to save the game instead of going for that crucial 2nd goal. You could tell the Hawks were going to score eventually from that point onwards.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 06:38 AM) Is that as a citizen or a "US Resident"? The US puts non-citizens through hell. Yep I can pretty much vouch for that. Occasionally I've actually had to show proof that I have a return ticket home, in order to get the whole 90 day Visa Waiver thing. For the original thread starter, maybe it's just that way at the Chicago Airports. Whenever I go through LAX, it's usually a 5:1 ratio the other way around, so I end up having to wait 90 mins or so just to get through customs (which if you have a connecting flight is a nightmare).

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 11:48 AM) Olynik aside, I'd actually be pretty surprised if he didn't sign in Boston. Yeah for some reason I think of him as a Celtics type of player (probably when I look back at Bird, McHale and co.). At some point Boston is just going to need a star player, and he'd be a very good fit in Brad Stevens' system. The Lakers are probably the other wild-card, but it probably depends on if they go after Rondo potentially.

**SPOILER THREAD** GAME OF THRONES ** SPOILER THREAD **
DBAHO replied to TaylorStSox's topic in SLaM
Well that certainly got good.... -
Maybe Hornacek thinks that the Suns aren't going to be making the playoffs in the West over the next few years and thinks now's a good time to get out also. And Alvin Gentry got named coach of the Pelicans. Interesting choice, they wanted a better offensive mind and they got one. I would have been very interested to see how JVG would have gone there though.

Scott Skiles gets hired by Orlando. I don't know if Hennigan really even wanted him, it was more so from the owners the Devos Family that Skiles had to come in as the new coach (being a former favourite and all). Now the interesting part will be to see what happens with Tobias Harris here, those 2 did not get along whatsoever during their time in Milwaukee.
-
I found it pretty hilarious that they are getting extradited as well. Everyone knows FIFA has been corrupt for so, so long, and really, change is only going to happen when Sepp Blatter goes, and unfortunately, even with this news, I don't think he'll lose on Friday. FWIW, on 2022, if they did re-schedule Qatar, I think Australia would still have a very good chance (we had 95K see Liverpool last year and recently hosted the Asia Cup), but I don't think our country wants to go through that whole bidding process again either.

It's a shame for Atlanta they peaked when they did back in December / January. It really gave the other teams 3-4 months to work out their weaknesses, and then with Carroll not at 100% and Korver going down, they never really had a chance. I suppose a lot of the time it does come down to getting hot at the right time.

So does David Blatt get to keep his job now?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2015 -> 11:06 AM) So much for the theory that Van Gundy was helping Thibs. Thibs might take a year out of the game, and wait for the Lakers job to open up potentially, or another job. The Devos Family (who own the Magic) love Scott Skiles, prob why he's now the favourite, they don't want to give up a pick for Thibs also. Skiles and Tobias Harris have a pretty stormy history though, that might make things interesting if say the Knicks offered him a max deal....

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 24, 2015 -> 12:53 PM) Is Steph Curry real life? Anyone else see the old Houston Supporter in the bottom left hand corner jawing with him everytime Curry made a 3? Sit down already......
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:03 AM) I hate Dellavadova. Delly guarding Steph Curry in the finals would be pretty interesting to watch.... And suppose I'll stick up for him being an Aussie and all. He's made the most of what he has, reminds me of Hinrich in a way.

QUOTE (almagest @ May 21, 2015 -> 03:07 AM) http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/samsmith/dra...-nba-mock-draft Some chatter in the comments about the Knicks wanting to trade their pick. I wonder if Thibs/our pick/the Bobcats pick option/Noah/Taj/etc could get it done? If so, what would the Bulls want at #4? You'd probably have to trade say Mirotic to Sacramento for the 6th pick, and then do a swap of 4/6 somehow. Don't think the Knicks would be interested in anyone other than Butler really. If the Knicks do stay at 4, and Mudiay is on the board still, do the Knicks pick him. He doesn't exactly fit the mould of a Triangle Offense kind of PG, although he is big enough.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 20, 2015 -> 10:50 PM) When you think about it, why would the Bulls job be very appealing. Your roster is good enough for people to think it is good enough, but it really isn't, and probably isn't getting better anytime soon. You know there will be significant meddling from upstairs. The Mayor is set for life in Ames, and probably could coach there until he dies. Why go to the Bulls where in 4 years you will be blamed for everything, and then move on? I think Orlando and New Orleans might be better jobs, especially when you consider the scout that found guys like Taj and Butler late is in Orlando. Matt Lloyd is who you're referring to there (now the Magic's head of Scouting I believe). I think the Bulls job is always going to appealing enough in terms of the franchise's history and the city itself being a big market. Where the roster is at right now though is pretty interesting. They can't do much this off-season, but IIRC, Rose's expiring contract in 2016 could give them a fair bit of flexibility when the salary cap goes up. The more I think about it also, the more I think Alvin Gentry would be a pretty decent fit, at least for the next 2 seasons. Watching the Warriors vs Rockets today, and Basketball in general nowadays, the league is all about spacing on offense and hitting as many 3PT's as you can really. But what seperates the really good teams is when you can also be good enough defensively, and for GS that's simply by having Green and Bogut really. The Bulls already have the players good enough on defense, but they need a better offensive minded coach to increase their offensive efficiency. You could almost compare them to where Golden State was a season ago really with the Jackson to Kerr scenario. Not that I'm comparing Thibs to Mark Jackson though, I just think he's quite similar to SVG / Scott Skiles etc. in a way, the players can tune out after 4-5 seasons it seems....
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 20, 2015 -> 11:08 AM) They'd be stupid as hell not to take Russell or Mudiay . Okafor would've been the easy choice ten years ago. Game has changed quite a bit. Considering they'll probably get Rondo on the cheap this off-season and have Clarkson, I'd be very surprised if they didn't pick Okafor if he's still there. Although Okafor and Randle could be the worst defensive 4-5 in the league as well.....
-
I've never seen a game on so late in the afternoon down here (which probably sounds crazy to you all up there). Huge win though, could be the big turning point in the series hopefully.
-
Wonder if any potential contract negotiations will come into play here, although Samardjiza and his agent would most likely wait til the off-season. I don't mind the idea of a trade, if you get some real good young pieces back that are ready to contribute now, especially on the pitching side of things.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 14, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) Finally GTA 5 Online Heist time. Too bad none of my friends still play it/have their PS3s still. I hope I don't get caught up playing with little kids or trolls. Anyone else on here playing GTAV Online still?
