Jose has to be aggressive early in the count vs Montas because he's hopeless on the splitter
-
Please hit the ball in the air, Jose

Just like that, DK finds a way to settle down, 5 innings in.
This is usually how it goes then trouble ensues when he starts the 6th.
hopefully Tony has learned his lesson.

Watching Robert glide around the outfield to catch fly balls is so fun

When Grandal returns he should bat 2nd. Vaughn should stay a 5 Robert should bat 6th Moncada 7, Lamb or Goodwin 8th and Hernandez 9th. Rotation should be Lynne, Gio, Rodon, Cease and anybody 5th, Lopez, even kuechel if we are desperate. Kopech being stretched needs to be stepped up ASAP.
Putting a .370+ OBP guy in front of Abreu and Eloy gets me salivating. That's what I'm hoping to see as well.

Needs to know Robert is running there. Meanwhile Montas has 5 outs in the last two innings on rockets
The dam is going to break for this offense soon, hopefully it's tonight

Of course Seby would be the guy to come through with RISP
-
Goodwin consistently takes good AB's against quality RHP

Surprisingly, five teams have hit into more DPs than the Sox, including the Yankees and Astros.
Good offensive teams are generally going to ground into more double plays because they get more guys on base

Thanks for throwing Robert a strike because I imagine he was swinging at anything there

Moncada's OBP getting back towards .370
baby steps

On one hand, Keuchel is bad and the Sox have one (probably 2) better options than him as a #5.
On the other hand, he's usually fine going twice through a lineup and expecting him or most #5s to go 3 times through a lineup is an indictment on the manager as much as anything else. Especially with a bullpen that can cover for him.

Keuchel really is an incredible defensive pitcher. He is a natural in that aspect of the game, at least.

You'd think this 2006-07 team. I wonder where LaRussa's mindset is in all of this.
I think the answer is in your message 😊

So stupid not to have Timmy steal on the 1-2 or 2-2.
He rightfully gets praised (imo) for being an intelligent hitter, so he should have been smart enough to know Jose would be getting spammed with splitters and ran on one of those pitches anyways
-
Jose should have 2 walks but instead it's 2 K's
-
You'll never get a more obvious splitter count than 1-2 vs Abreu
I don't understand why TA isn't running there
-
Gotta be running with TA early in this AB

Rodon, Lynn, Giolito is good
How many teams have a #4 better than Cease? It's going to be a very small list, if any.
-
Not a great sign that Montas has his good splitter tonight

I don’t see Kopech or Crochet ever getting to start as long as La Russa is here, unless Hahn acquires six more $15m / year relievers to placate Tony.
Go with a $100M bullpen.
I don't think Tony will have a choice on Kopech next season

Keuchel might be the 7th best starter in the organization
I think with Lopez's mechanics looking so much better that's a fair assessment

Too bad there isn't more starter depth in the upper minors to take Keuchel's spot this year considering Kopech being stretched out doesn't sound realistic
-
Feels like so many things need to break in their favor for the Sox to win a Keuchel start
