Jose swinging at a splitter that went like 56 feet

I’ll say it now, but let’s pull him before the third time through the order.
Unless the Sox have a 10 run lead or the bullpen is totally dead, Keuchel should never see any lineup for the 3rd time
but especially this one.

Lots of weak contact against Keuchel. Very good 1st inning for him.
-
Speaking of players the A's acquired that would have helped the Sox... Gomes was a great addition for them.
-
Moncada continues playing absolutely stellar defense.

Not that we would have given a better package for Marte, but man i wish we got him somehow.
I'm hoping the Sox sign him this off-season, at least. But agreed. He would have been a perfect fit.

There was an answer in the postgame. Tony said the guy (can’t remember the name) is good at what he does, said they were ties and unlikely to be overturned. The guy that looks may have been wrong on the first one, but the guys in the dugout have to make a quick decision based on his look at it.
The fun thing is that no one can be certain if he knew whether or not you lose the ability to challenge after the 7th inning so there was zero downside in asking for a review even if TA was out by 10 feet.

2-2, with a BB & run scored for Jose Rodriguez. After the poor first game, he's done very well so far in WS. .876 OPS in High-A and .786 on the season.

whats Moncada doing with runners on?
.298/.433/.500 with RISP on the season

Madrigal would've really helped us sitting at home alright.
The same logic would have lead to trading Vaughn or Kopech last year and I think we're all glad that didn't happen

yep, Madrigal's .425 slugging didnt count
He was 3rd amongst AL 2B in fWAR at the time of his injury. Until their recent hot streaks in August, Madrigal had a higher wRC+ than Tim Anderson and Abreu. He was a very productive player and people fixated on his flaws to a degree that will never make any sense to me.
edit - Tim and Madrigal both actually have a 115 wRC+ on the season. If you want to criticize his durability, that's fine, but his bat clearly played at an above average rate in the majors even if he doesn't develop further at all.

On this day in 2006, Sox were 14-16 after the ASB. This year, they're 14-15 after the ASB.
How'd the 2005 team do in August and September?
A slightly below .500 month doesn't disqualify you from winning the World Series, last time I checked.

this board told me Madrigal was easily replaceable
It doesn't matter how productive you are, even if it's at age 23/24, if you don't have power you're a bad player and that's that

Pure garbage double by pure garbage player Collins.
I agree with the sentiment you've had in this thread today, but Collins is at -0.6 fWAR this year and has been below replacement level every year of his career. He actually is objectively a bad player.

Good thing they threw in the towel using Foster and didn't bother using a challenge earlier in the game

Abreu's GB rate when there are guys on base feels like it has to be 60%+
-
Bummer, Crochet, Tepera, and Lopez being nails lately with Kimbrel and Hendriks imploding really highlights how volatile relievers are

I don't like Tony, but I agree. It is amazing how many are in their glory when the Sox are losing.
There was no reason to consult the replay room at all and it's Tony's job to know that.

It is the replay room, but being it is the 7th inning they shouldn't even need to talk to the replay room.
A manager who grasps the rules would have called for a challenge immediately after TA was called out.

TLR is costing us runs and games.
Same story as it's always been. But I'm sure the Sox being so bad in 1 run games is just a coincidence.

Honestly, more than likely the reason
How many other managers do you think have consistent issues not knowing the rules?
But only 1 of them is a Hall of Famer, so maybe it all cancels out

Some games it's noticeable, other games it isn't, but every game the Sox play is with one hand tied behind their back
