Eloy's swinging at like 54% of pitches out of the zone. His approach is a total mess right now.
-
Engel running to avoid a possible double play here would be nice

I think we’re missing Grandal and his walks. I agree, it seems like they are forcing things.
I read today the Sox average nearly a full run per game more when Yas is in the lineup than when he's not. Something like 5.2 with & 4.3 without. The Sox need him back & healthy desperately.

Yoan's hit in the 6th was absolutely tragic. He's smoked the ball twice off Staumont recently. Both went right to the first baseman.
His hard hit rates in July & August are both elite. I think from the left side he's hitting into tough luck, from the right side I don't know what's going on. He can't generate any bat speed hitting right handed right now.

Just like they wanted at the deadline
Seeing Bryant go for a package the Sox 100% could have matched is just painful

Not adding another quality position player was just brutal

He is pretty unathletic as we have learned

That's what I'm thinking, too.

I can't ever remember Crochet even attempting a pick-off. I'm guessing he doesn't have the quickest move to first if he has one at all.

Bad night for Vaughn to struggle at the plate

Someone finally waited back on the slider! There we go Eloy!!
-
So I guess every guy in the lineup is seeing a slider for the first time in their life tonight
-
When the lineup around him isn't hitting, Jose starts pressing and chases everything low & away
-
I hope what Hahn said about he and Kenny agreeing Kimbrel was the top trade target available was just lip service. I can't imagine how convoluted the logic has to be for any reliever to have been a bigger upgrade for this team than Gallo or Bryant would have been.

I thought I read the other day that he was really good and was going to be the backup in the playoffs because he was so good.
Being the backup catcher on this team is about the lowest bar to possibly clear. Neither Seby or Collins are even close to being replacement level guys
-
Maybe next year the Sox can have 2 catchers on their 40 man that are actually better than replacement level
-
If Hahn and KW seriously prioritized Kimbrel above every other guy who could realistically be moved the deadline....
yikes

.580 xBA on Moncada's line out lol

Is a wild pitch or some BABIP luck too much to ask for
-
Great discipline not to chase any of those last 3 pitches.
I'm not sure why Lynch didn't go back to the slider, but I'll take it
-
3-5 getting to see Lynch again right here is a gift

Vaughn is a natural out there in RF

Also sliders low and away... And change ups... He's chasing literally everything, He looks so lost.
