Only 1 base-runner through 2 innings against perhaps the worst starter in baseball
good stuff boys

I mean if he's bad next year, you can just not pitch him.
To reach 160 IP next year, Keuchel will have to pitch effectively AND avoid injury. If he's a 5 & dive starter going forward, it's extremely unlikely that option vests.
-
In 2021, Keuchel will earn a base salary of $18,000,000, while carrying a total salary of $18,000,000. Contract Notes: 2024 Vesting Option vests with 320 IP across 2021-2022, including 160 IP in 2022.

Apparently Engel can't play defense now?
Yas and Robert can't return soon enough good lord
-
Why is Seby so bad at catching the ball
-
2 run swing at least due to inconsistent calls on checked swings.

He’s not even close right now
This was obvious from looking at his strikeout rate on the rehab assignment. At least Robert's plate discipline has been a lot better.
-
If Eloy's timing is right, Lynch should be batting practice for him
-
That's how you're supposed to treat mediocre pitchers like Lynch
way to go Jose
-
Tim at least showing he's capable of hitting a pulled fly ball
-
So they're doing this again tonight huh
-
Robert also stole a base. That's got to be a sign his hip is feeling good.

I hope TLR doesn't allow Keuchel to face this lineup a third time through, if it comes to that.
Keuchel is still a perfectly acceptable pitcher if you only use him twice through a lineup. Letting him face guys for a 3rd time just puts him in a position to fail.

We couldn't hit to save our lives, and you asked if putting an all world player out there would have helped?
I, for one, think the White Sox are a better team when the most talented player in their organization is on the field
call me crazy
-
Lynch has been one of the worst pitchers in baseball this season. Given that fact and him being a lefty, scoring any less than 5 runs tonight would be unacceptable.

Whoa excellent Kade McClure game
I wonder how long it'll be until he's in Charlotte? He's got to be close to earning a promotion and I'm sure they'll have him opening next season there.

Love to see Tim pulling a line drive like that

I think we all know, or at least most of us can acknowledge, if Collins didn't hit from the left side of the plate, he'd be out of organized baseball at this point, or well on his way out.
I think he'll get another shot somewhere next season, but if you told me he's playing in Japan 3 years from now I wouldn't be surprised

I mean Jose is approaching 35 and he's finally having issues with velocity this year.
Moncada crushed 4 seamers last year so it really doesn't make sense to me why he isn't hitting them this year

Fantastic play by TA

why would you want to do that? You have no idea what you're getting from him going forward.
Tonight isn't the night to defend him, but if you aren't going to pay Lucas, good luck ever retaining a #2 starter or better in their 20s.

This is wrong. Toronto's staff has been amazing and so has Houston's. Boston's staff has been good and they will add Sale. The Yankees staff has gotten better. Those teams are certainly feeling pretty good.
The Sox have like 4 top 25 starters by fWAR. Giolito and Rodon are both hitting a rough patch right now, it happens.
Yankees fans were on tilt about Gerrit Cole until a few weeks ago. Even when their rotation isn't on the COVID list, Cole and Montgomery are their only 2 reliable starters. If we're concerned over Giolito and Rodon, how would you be feeling about Jameson Taillon as a #3 starter? Andrew Heaney? Come on. Houston's rotation is very good, but Framber Valdez has regressed hard over the last month. Odorizzi and Greinke BOTH have FIP's over 7 in the second half, etc. Of course those teams still have very good rotations. But so do the White Sox.
We're all hyper focused on our own team so we don't realize that other teams players go through struggles too.

Eloy wasn't going to hurt himself running down the line and I'm fine with it

What's strange is that Moncada looks athletic playing the field. But then you watch him hit and the bat speed is gone and it's as if his legs are in quick sand
