  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) Well that go out of hand quickly. I don't how the hell the review confirmed the 2nd goal, Toews looked so offsides but I'll take it. He was definitely offsides, but you take what is given to you
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 06:48 PM) But... Bust... I stand corrected. He's trash
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 06:17 PM) Wow, Moncada on fire .317/.391/.683 in the spring
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2017 -> 10:17 PM) And tonight for the ABC match up LeBron, Kyrie, and Love all rested too, Clippers win by 30 I'm becoming increasingly convinced that the league needs to cut 15 games from the season. The networks have a huge beef here. These contracts are drawn up so players play in the flexed games. Either Cut 15 games Legislate out sitting your whole team Allow the networks to last minute flex games I'm not pro-network, but sitting players for a national telecast is a complete scam.
  5. Great hire. Retaining walker should be enough to keep Tilmon unless there's a real philosophical difference between Underwood and Tilmon (not sure that's possible)
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2017 -> 12:08 PM) I think what this thread proves is a team's PBP guy, with a few exceptions, is pretty much like the President. Half love them, half hate them. I think 10-15 years ago a lot more people liked him. It says a lot that he has long overstayed his welcome and yet garners the support he does.
  7. It does kind of sound like TB passed. I don't think he did (i figure we would probably know), but yeah... he has since been on the show, so he is alive
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 08:53 PM) Really hope it wasn't a tibia. If it's a Tib-Fib, he's out for the season. Hopefully not serious. Looks like they are saying "it's not serious", but to see him grabbing at his shin and unable to put any weight on the leg really wasn't pretty.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 02:10 PM) Whitman is not f***ing around, women's basketball coach was fired today He's empowered. Things would have to go pretty badly for Whitman to have "lost" the Lovie Smith contract.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 10:55 AM) Fixed again. Yeah, you got me. I don't give a f***. Let's move everybody. I'm not being sarcastic.
  11. Move Quintana, Cabrera and leave Moncada in the minors and we're golden. As close to the bottom as I'm willing to get.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) Exactly what would you trade for Tyler Saladino? This is my thought as well. Saladino needs to play long enough to prove he's worth much of anything and then age is suddenly a bigger and bigger factor.
  13. I wonder if Becky Hammon has any interest in coaching an NCAA mens team.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 09:31 AM) You are suggesting the TV rights wouldn't change if there was an actual team in Las Vegas? Vegas gets claimed by other markets because there is no team here. I'm not sure how one can appropriately value a Vegas baseball television market without the presence of an actual team? Nor would I suspect that the fact that other teams claim it as a market shows any pertinent information on value to that effect. TV markets do change as a part of a relocation like that, however the relocation would probably meet heavy resistance from all the markets I listed AND the markets in the AL Central. You're talking about up to 10 owners being anti-move for the White Sox. This isn't directed at iamshack (he asked a fair question), but I hate these discussions. The White Sox aren't going anywhere for a long time. They're not even close to the top candidate for relocation.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 06:54 AM) Easy, big fella. Your signature is gold. That is all.
  16. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 07:39 PM) They would get some share of parts of states surrounding Nevada that don't have teams. Northern AZ, UT, ID, OR, Inland CA. Plus tourists in town will go to a game or two. Spoken like someone who doesn't know how TV markets work. The Diamondbacks, Rockies, Mariners, and California based teams will not cede their markets to Las Vegas. You can prove to me Las Vegas is a TV market, but Chicago is still a much better market.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 07:01 PM) Gregg Marshall taking Illini job after NCAA tourney, I heard from a very good source. This a great hire to me. Well, in a few weeks we'll know if I hate you or not. lol
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) Staal after the game was over yelled at the Hawks bench "We'll be seeing you guys again and whip your asses then." He told them! lol
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 02:45 PM) The White Sox have a rather long lease and make money every season. There are several other teams that cannot say the same thing. Every 6 months we get the Sox moving posts. They aren't leaving. Put it to rest. This post should be stickied. There has been one move in the last 45 years in the MLB. I'm not sure why this is even a discussion. No team in a market like Chicago is going to downgrade to a TV market like Las Vegas.
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) They had a lot to do with some coaches not wanting to work under Mike Thomas AD than not wanting the Illinois job at the time. Mike Thomas: Bad hire or worst hire?
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 10:58 AM) Coaches wouldn't leave Butler and VCU for Illinois, that is pretty much my point, though I am pretty sure there were more than that who weren't even interested publicly. EDIT: Pretty sure Martin was connected at one point and flat out said no. Oh please, you're worse than caufield. Stevens knew he had bigger dreams than going to a bigger college. Shaka went to Texas, which looks like a mistake now.I'm still not sure what your problem is. Illinois fans are the worst. I say this as one.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 10:46 AM) Aiming high? lol. Yeah, his program ended up with Groce because how many candidates didn't even want to talk to them last time around? They can aim as high as they want, it won't make this a super-attractive job. Two. Two candidates turned down Illinois. One is coach of the 2 seed in the Eastern conference of the NBA. The other is struggling terribly at Texas. It's certainly a top 25 job.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 10:21 AM) So the ink is barely dry, and they are already being turned down. Yeah, when you shoot for an NBA guy, that's what happens. You get turned down. If you don't get turned down, you're not aiming high enough. Get over this Illinois "woe is me" narrative. It's nauseating.
