  1. The Austin Fox Sports feed is garbage, but the commercials come through crystal clear. lol
  2. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) I agree; however, he is more accomplished because he's played on better teams with a better coach, not because he's a better quarterback than Aaron Rodgers. The stat I posted above shows that in nearly half of Brady's career postseason wins he played average to below average. The Packers never win in the postseason if Rodgers plays average to below average (well they did once) and sometimes they don't even win when he plays well above average. I'm still failing to understand why that would be held against him in a Rodgers vs Brady debate. In fact, there's a pretty good chance Rodgers has a monster game today (300+ yards, 3 TD, 100+ passer rating) and the Packers still lose. He is the single most important player to his team in the NFL and yet there's only so much he can do if the defense is sucking it up. We'll see what happens but if Rodgers wills his team to a road playoff win against the top team in the conference without his best WR, it's another tally for Rodgers in this debate. I tend to agree. I just don't like to make these comparisons because as fans of a team, only one stat matters. As fans of players, things get super muddy.
  3. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 11:20 PM) The Switch looks like a complete joke. It's basically an Nvidia tablet for $100 more, with worse controllers and a non-replaceable battery. I have a feeling this might be the final nail in Nintendo's coffin. Technologically, I agree with you, but it looks like this system could be wildly popular. We shall see.
  4. Hopefully not on the White Sox. End of discussion for me. I suppose he can play for us the first half of the season and if he's good get moved as a sweetener.
  5. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 10:11 AM) Keep Q! Drake trouble makers are gone. New manager. Go for it! Infusion of young talent mid season will help put them over the top. I guarantee something similar to this has crossed KW's mind. Thank God Ken Williams isn't in charge of baseball personnel. More bum overpriced, mediocre free agents. Yuck.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) (Looks over at Chris Carter) Chris Carter is an average at best baseball player. Posted a .9 WAR last year. There's a reason no one wants to sign him. Excellent example of a guy that no one knows how to gauge because his meaningful stats are so bad.
  7. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 11:57 PM) How does this thread get 10 pages a day when NOTHING is happening? The Bulls make us sick. Plus, we're just excited about the future and what young talent could come into the organization.
  8. Brady is certainly more accomplished. He also has a significantly better coach.
  9. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 09:39 PM) These games are terrible and now the league is uprooting a new franchise every offseason for no apparent reason. Fuller has been bad all year except for those first couple weeks. Better off using Miller. The uprooting is a result of the recent political backlash towards teams building new stadiums on the taxpayer's dime. It's really not going to matter. None of the great franchises are moving, in all honesty. The Rams and Chargers potentially could become bigger in that market and the Raiders are the Raiders and Oakland is a garbage town for football. The Bears need to get better. Their resurgence could be huge for the league. The Cowboys this season drew insane numbers to the point where the networks tried endlessly to flex them to the big games. The Bears are a team like that.
  10. QUOTE (heirdog @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 01:51 AM) Huh? It would really suck if we can't move him at the deadline If he's not worth anything, he's not worth anything. I wouldn't be surprise if we struggle to move him. At least the money isn't super unattractive.
  11. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 12:13 PM) Hard to believe how far the NFL has fallen in just three or so years. Fallen how? Like quality? I agree there. Money wise, they're as good as ever and it looks like the decline in the ratings the first half of the year was due to the election.
  12. Illinois with a solid first half, but I fully expect a meltdown in the second.
  13. Illustrates fairly well why it will be hard to move any of them. If they don't project out to a decent WAR, the power just doesn't matter. Hitting home runs isn't enough anymore.
  14. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 10:19 AM) The Raiders have officially applied for relocation to Las Vegas, and the owners should vote in March. If they move, it'll be the third NFL relocation in three years. MLB has had one team move since 1972. The dumbest thing about this is apparently they're going to stay in Oakland while the stadium is built. If the Chargers can play at the StubHub Center, the Raiders can play at UNLV for a couple of years. I don't live in my teams' TV market, but I can't imagine supporting a team after they plan to move, finalize the move, and stay in the current location in the interim.
  15. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 13, 2017 -> 11:01 PM) Those should be great shows to catch Leonard. It's great that Waters is still writing after all these years and I'm looking forward to hearing the new music. Right now the wife and I are getting buzzed and watching a Royal Blood show from Reading festival in '15. I'll say one thing, they sound exactly like the album. They know how to put on a hell of a show! Edit: not sure when yet but Royal Blood has a new album coming out this year and I cannot wait to hear it. The first album was amazing and set the bar pretty high. Royal Blood is incredible live. They were an early show at ACL and very few people were there, but by the time the first song had finished, the place was packed. Run the Jewels 3 is a great album. As far as what I'm looking forward to, the Shins have a new album coming out this year. They are great.
  16. Wherever we get the best deal is where I want Q to go. Simple as that.
  17. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 10:44 PM) I approached Bernstein not too long ago about the show, saying Matt would be a nice addition. He went off on me, saying that it's out of his control and he's not one of upper management even though someday he would like to be. Abbatacola's role is definitely a demotion. It makes me wonder if Julie DaCarrio and Chris Rongey are getting the axe. I don't buy the argument of having to move away and take a chance and come back to Chicago to get a talent job. Shepkowski didn't leave even though he has Matt's old job. I stopped myself from majoring in journalism and radio/TV for crap like this. You really have to get lucky to get a paying job and then play the politics to be on air talent. Abbatacola's demotion doesn't make sense, and I hope that he f***s with the Score somehow and goes to AM 1000. My impression (never been in radio) is that it is a demotion. I have never felt DiCaro or Rongey were "higher up" than Abbatacola. It is super weird that a guy so active at the company is suddenly "demoted". Maybe there's more we don't know. Nice display name, BTW.
  18. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 13, 2017 -> 12:00 PM) todd frazier, chsiox settle at $12M https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/819967146377838593 Good deal. If we can move him at the deadline, great, if not - oh well.
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 10:39 AM) They won't even get that IMO with his contract. I bet they mutually agree on him giving up guaranteed $$ and they cut him. My understanding is, because of the structure of the contract, a potential Romo suitor would not be liable for much of the tab.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 05:23 PM) Maybe for you, but I imagine a large portion of their audience doesn't have Twitter and still depends on the updates for current sports news. And even for those of us that use twitter on occasion, we tend to undervalue the fact that these guys can parse through the news and focus on what is relevant to the fans.
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 05:59 PM) I'll keep repeating it until he ends up getting traded but the trade deadline wont help. Your not getting major league or close to major league ready talent from those teams. If your fine with players highly rated down the farm system that's fine. But the market will change after the season starts. If your trading Q trade him now or dont at all. Elite Prospects >>>> "Major league ready talent"
  22. The only successful kickstarter worthwhile was Pebble. Of course, that's gone now.
