QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 10:48 AM) Yep. Sometimes voters strategically don't vote for one of the "guarantees" so they can try and get up the vote for other players who they also think are a fit (or even just get enough votes for players to stay on). Bit more strategy to it in some cases (although clearly some of the voters were just straight up delusional). While this is kind of understandable, it all just starts to reek of corruption when people vote for HOF players as a favor. I know it's not corrupted, but there is a slippery slope, especially if a guy like Raines is a small number of votes short.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) Do the podcast the show when it's over or anything? I'm concerned they'll edit a lot of that out.

Some of these B&B clips are pretty funny on the last show.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) Yeahhhh. Hoiberg's seat officially hot. The idea of Forman hiring ANOTHER coach is nauseating. If Hoiberg goes, Gar goes down with the ship.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) Hub Arkush reportedly made a comment that Jimmy G (of Patriots) would be the #1 overall pick in the draft (if he was eligible). Kind of a moot point all things considered and it doesn't mean his value is that (since whomever acquires him will also have to pay him a lot of money). We all know I'm very high on Jimmy G and would gladly give up our 2nd pick and a future 3rd round pick. I'd also be willing to dangle Jeffrey & picks as part of a package as well. The Bears lack so much talent at so many positions, to trade high picks for any one player is a mistake. The idea of having a draft like Dallas did last year is incredibly tantalizing. The only pick for Dallas that hasn't really panned out yet was never going to play this year. Give me draft picks any day of the week.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) So if Q isn't an ace because he's pitched for a bad team then I guess Sale isn't an ace either? Sale's a backup punter -

QUOTE (SoxSteve @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 02:42 PM) Pressure is knowing that everytime you go to the mound if you give up 2-3 runs your teams loses. That's pressure. Uh no. It's not. But I'm on your side, so I'll leave it. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Why? Didn't you see? He's a backup quarterback... ...except he plays ...and isn't bad -

QUOTE (BRIRO2017 @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) He's had zero pressure. It's like the pressure of a back up QB vs a starter. The back up QB doesn't play. The #2 starter is 1/5 to 1/4 of your starts, same as your starters. This doesn't fly. QUOTE (BRIRO2017 @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) He's not an ace. You don't watch baseball. -
QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) All professional sports teams have hazing of one type or another. It's part of the culture and is usually very funny. And completely unnecessary.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/white-s...osenthal-121416 Snippet We are going to have fun discussing Martes/Tucker as nauseum through February. On the bright side: Wine is still a thing.

I'm all for what's best for the team. If it's losing, so be it.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 02:46 PM) No offense, but Crawford has essentially carried this team until his appendix burst. He's not going anywhere quite yet. I tend to agree. I would hate to lose Panarin, however. A young talent like him may be too hard for this organization to lose. Saad was bad, Sharp was necessary, but Panarin looks like he has a bright future and I would hate to see it in another uniform.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 11:34 AM) I'm willing to bet he gets no more than 2.5-3 mil which is still half of Crawford's contract. I wish the Hawks knew this a year or two ago. Could've traded Crawford and kept Saad. I probably wouldn't deal him now (Vegas could take Kruger in the expansion draft) but I wouldn't be opposed to it either. It comes down to whether or not the Blackhawks can reasonably move Brent Seabrook. That's a long, ugly contract, but he is a blue liner. If not him, pray for an increase and try to move Kruger.

I wonder who gets moved to keep Panarin.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) Does seem harmless, but what they are allowing is still hazing. Drop it all. What's the point ? We agree. They're professional baseball players. Real-world Professionals shouldn't be subject to hazing.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) I think there is a real possibility he ends up with the Rams. I was thinking the same thing. If money is what drives him, the Rams will make it happen. Any NFL team can.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) The 1st year I could kind of see why. You aren't sure what you have in Cutler, you try like crazy to move him plus others to get Mariotta, but you can't, and you look at the draft board following it and don't really like anyone (and know you have massive needs everywhere). Last year, was harder to look past, that said, when you think about it again, Cutler was coming off a strong season and I'm sure everyone actually envisioned a higher probability of him being around longer then previous. That said, we did have enough picks where you would have thought we took a QB, but again, I understand trusting your draft board. This year, I can't see any logical scenario where we ignore the position. Too many positions to fill not named "quarterback" and no good quarterback prospects. And before you say "Dak Prescott", know every team passed on him 4 times, including the Cowboys.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) Who's the better coach: Fisher or Trestman? Fisher. A good Fisher comparison is Lovie Smith. Although Lovie had about half the good fortune.
-
QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 12:39 PM) Pace has actually done a pretty good job in the draft and FA why the hell would you get rid of him already? Doesn't make any sense to me, either.

QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 11, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) And they still kicked the s*** out of Dallas. Darling was brilliant again
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 11, 2016 -> 05:56 PM) The Bears absolutely need to do something at QB. Either a high draft pick or a trade for a short term veteran, or perhaps even both. The fact that this administration hasn't even tried, despite knowing the clock on Cutler would potentially have him cut after this year, is inexcusable. At least spend a 3rd round pick and see if you find a Dak Prescott. The Bears need to make a move at quarterback, but you can't blame them for thinking they would have Cutler a whole season. The administration hasn't tried, but they haven't had to. No one honestly thought Dak Prescott (Dallas' fifth pick in the draft) would be the franchise quarterback to come out of this draft.

Toews is out again for the matchup against the Stars, but he's back in practice.
