  1. QUOTE (kwill @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:26 PM) I just get the feeling the next guy they want out is Eaton. He put up monster defensive peripherals last year. He probably peaked on his value. I wonder if they want his attitude around for the rebuild. It would not surprise if they hang onto Quintana until the deadline or next year. Frazier and Robertson trade market wont develop until some of the other free agents are gone. I think Abreu has a real chance to be more valuable at the deadline than at this point in time. I'm a little inclined to agree on Abreu. It would be good to move him when teams are more desperate, especially if Abreu has a strong first half next year.
  2. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:22 PM) Never before seen picture of Ben Zobrist's game-winning AB. Whatever floats your boat, JoeBot.
  3. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) Compared to Jason Heyward? Is this even up for debate? Heyward signed as a 25 year old with good established offensive production and the plus tools to project increased production. He wasn't signed because of his defensively inflated WAR. Eaton will be traded as an established 28 year old without near the upside to project. He's a hell of a player, but his some of his numbers are smoke and mirrors. GM's aren't dumb. Good point. If he were really that good, he'd be flying off the shelf. His deal is so good, especially when you consider what Fowler will command at 31.
  4. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) Lol at you just EATING. THAT. s***. UP. Man, you're going to be so bummed when you find out Angels in the Outfield isn't based on a true story. What's Eaton's locker room contribution of note? He threw a hissy fit because a child was asked to leave the locker room because other players were uncomfortable.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) I can't believe you're seriously trying to argue this. It doesn't take much to understand that Eaton is a fraud and a locker room problem. Why do the White Sox want to move him? He's young enough to last a rebuild, right? So why move him? He's a sell high 6 WAR player and not someone the front office cares for.
  6. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) Yeah, the Cubs won the World Series because Heyward spoke up in the clubhouse. Real life isn't the Mighty Ducks movies. Have you actually read what happened? Do you remember how close the Cubs were to losing that game and the World Series? Are you seriously kidding me right now?
  7. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) f***ing yawn. I dunno man, the parade looked pretty nice. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:07 PM) Since we don't have clubhouse access, to say someone is notably better is ludicrous. How much access do other GMs get? Perception is everything. That WS Locker room rally story is the thing of legends. Eaton whines and cries about Drake LaRoche.
  8. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) Ouch. Shots fired. But well deserved. Lol. No. You need a reddit feed We can call it r/outoftouchsoxfan
  9. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:51 PM) Lets not lose our minds here Heyward had a down year, but had been a considerably better player than Eaton Although given the contract he signed I would much rather have Eaton the next five years than Heyward And Heyward is notably better in the clubhouse based on the stuff he did in the World Series.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:09 PM) It's just White Sox fan mentality. They have to find something wrong with their nice things. Sale is pretty flawless on the field, so when he calls that asshole KW an asshole, the guy is a total douchebag. The same thing happens with Eaton. There was some anonymous comment when he was traded here how it was addition by subtraction for AZ because he was cocky. Eaton addressed it right away, said he was surprised anyone felt like that, apologized if he offended anyone. Thought he got along with everyone OK, said he had to play with a chip on his shoulder and a cocky attitude to be successful. He is successful, and even though he has been here 3 years, no one plays harder, he now has attitude issues, you know from that report in AZ. He's a clubhouse cancer, no one can stand him even though they made him the player rep, and he's pretty certain to have a public meltdown if the Sox trade away most of their core but keep him. It's some of the goofiest stuff I have ever read. And I've read most of Caulfield's posts. What did Ken Williams do that made him an asshole? He was responding to a complaint from in the locker room. And if you cut up an entire wardrobe of jerseys before a game because you don't like the color, you're a jerk.
  11. Frazier is that piece I want them to just move. I'm really not sure what he's worth.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) I obviously used best case example, but the Astros botched a number of picks are in a much better place than before. Seriously, the Astros are young and exciting. I wish I could get the channel they are on in my cable package. I'd much rather be fun and compete than be whatever the last couple of years were.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:30 AM) This is just nuts. This mentality by some Sox fans around here is just nuts. Sale is #1 in like 10 stats in AL pitchers over the last 5 years. Jose Quintana is not, nor is he close. The Sox can get a couple of very solid prospects for him, but nothing like that. If the 95% rumors are true, Q should be gone already. He's not the caliber of Sale.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:25 AM) A lot of other guys in our system have potential too- the Jake Peters of the world. Wouldn't be surprised to see someone like that become good enough to start for us. Right. There's really no way to know what our dream roster would be. A winning White Sox team post-rebuild has 1000s of permutations right now.
  15. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:17 AM) Depending on the planned length of the rebuild, I'd love to see him stay with the Sox. I think that it he's traded, the Sox are shooting for 2019 at the earliest to be contenders. Catch-22. We can keep Q, but our rebuild will take longer. Moving him will speed up the rebuild. I keep Q only if I can move EVERY other guy this offseason. Regardless, I don't keep Q past next offseason. He's not Chris Sale in terms of stuff, so the White Sox right now have to push his extra year of control.
  16. My dream roster is at least a third players we haven't seen yet and aren't in the organization.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:07 AM) I don't believe Jose Quintana will be on the White Sox at day's end. I'm not as confident as you are, but I will say it feels like SOMEONE from the big pieces in the organization will get moved today.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 12:58 AM) This Chris Sale being a cancer talk is really wearing me out. The cutting up of the uniforms was no big deal, folks. It just wasn't. Who gives a f*** that he cut up uniforms, ugly embarrassing uniforms he DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE pitching in. People get on pitchers for needing Tommy John surgery. I don't want Sale out there pitching when he's uncomfortable. He warned the White Sox he wasn't gonna pitch in the uniform and the front office didn't care. So he tore up the unis. Good for him. What else did he do that was bad?? Not wanting to come out of games and yelling at Ventura a few times? There are a handful of pitchers in baseball who won't come out: Verlander, cough cough; others. Who gives a f*** if he yelled at Robin? Again Chris was right. Robin was the second worse manager in Sox history behind Bevington. he was an utter embarrassment. So why hate on Chris Sale??? These transgressions have been overblown. I give a f*** that he destroyed their uniforms. I don't want a petulant child on my team. He's an asshat and now he's gone.
  19. Cubs fans are getting stupid now, lamenting that they are giving away a guy like Soler. Where they hell was he going to play on that Cubs roster?
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) Bannertalk is back When re you going white box sig?
  21. Just go with Thomas, Fox, and McDowell. Problem solved
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:24 PM) Big time steal for Epstein then if health checks out. That would totally suck for us.
  23. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) Which makes sense and is a direction I agree with. But I want to see it actually happen. The Front Office has built up very little trust with the fans. Agreed. Just be terrible already and get it over with. I'm excited about Moncada and I'm looking forward to being excited about more pieces in the farm system.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) I'm going to guess he goes with #11. Isn't that retired? I know Aparicio let Vizquel use it, but it's still retired. Also, I doubt there's a press conference. These are prospects.
  25. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:11 PM) He's s really good player. ISO rose, K% went down, solid D, solid OBP...wish we had that problem He's a defensive negative.
