  1. This whole debacle is requiring be to put a whole lot more faith in Paul Ryan. I don't often agree with him, but he has his head on straight and could potentially take the edge off Trump. Problem is, some outlets are calling for Ryan to step down, which would be a problem.
  2. For the first time in a long time, I share in this board's concern.
  3. This crap is unacceptable. Florida to Trump
  4. Maybe I should take a page out of Deadpools book and move to Canada
  5. America is totally screwed. A lot of people fell for that con artist
  6. Groce might recruit himself off of the hot seat. I'm hoping for good things this year.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 07:28 PM) Why the hell wouldn't you move Eaton too? Might as well. The article is more focused on the other pieces.
  8. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 06:02 PM) we get more coverage in NYC than in Chicago. Because we're bad and we have pieces the Yankees and Mets could be interested in...and yet can't afford. Finally stories about baseball that aren't cubs-centric. The White Sox hold the offseason cards.
  9. Can you imagine the type of haul we would getting moving everyone but Eaton? Regardless of how good we were in that situation, at least the story would be different.
  10. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 08:09 AM) Nate Silver is taking heat from people from not including early voting totals in his forecasting model but the thing is, based on the way he does his math, I don't think he knows how. He'd be measuring two different things. Early voting isn't polls, it's people who've already voted, so he'd be trying to combine a measured guess against. He's built his brand off the public polling system from 2008, but it's changed since then. It's hard to blame Silver for running his system the way he does. He's left a lot of room for error for himself if Trump becomes President. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 08:19 AM) I was thinking about voting early on Saturday. They had it at a library near me. My wife voted early last week. The line on Saturday was at least a block long. I was amazed. So I passed. It usually isn't very long when I go in the regular place. I just wanted to be done with it. I voted two weeks ago, but I'm really interested to see how crazy the lines get in swing states. It would be a real shame if people like you never get to exercise their civic duties. Election Day needs to be a national holiday on the order of Christmas. Everyone needs to be afforded the right to vote without worrying about lines getting into their hectic lives. The GOP would never go for it, seeing as there are a lot more Dems than Republicans nationally.
  11. QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 01:29 AM) My signature says clearly which camp I'm in ? Good article idea. ?? At this point it's the only sensible thing to do. There are too many teams doing it well now.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 04:23 AM) Where's Dr. Strange to contain you in a mirror room? The other cinematic universe. Back on topic. If both the Cubs and the White Sox are good, there is plenty of room and sufficient people on both sides of town to fill either. The Sox aren't moving but they need to get a lot better. If anything, this championship drums up interest in baseball, which the White Sox can capitalize on.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Under Armor is going to be the new MLB uniform maker in 2020 replacing Majestic. They will also replace Nike with the under the uniform stuff. That's fairly hard to imagine. What the hell us does Majestic do?
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) Ah, so you can tell me my theory is wrong. Got it now. I am not saying a rebuild can't work. I am just saying that the historic odds aren't nearly as high as they are being portrayed here. We could just as easily see it blow up in our faces, just like we have seen in Minnesota with their rebuild. They are starting over again. Completely different scouting environment now that statistics, computers, and analysis rule the league. You know what doesn't work? What we're doing right now. We might make the playoffs once in the next decade.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 6, 2016 -> 09:25 PM) I enjoyed your time away. Did you, though? Everybody seemed very shaken. Did those mean Cubs fans break through your thin skin? Man, so many sob stories about people having to sit on the train with those mean Cubbie fans. How dare they celebrate?
  16. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Nov 6, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) LOL. You can't be much of a Sox fan . or possibly a Sox fan at all,and you must not have gone to any games if you haven't heard "Let's Go White Sox." Baseball is built on tradition and that song has been sung by White Sox fans at games for decades I personally loath the Go Cubz Go song which is inappropriately done in the country genre, notwithstanding the Chicago roots of the song writer. Cubs finally got lucky in extra innings of game 7. One and done. The Ricketts purchased a World Series, but they have now transformed the erstwhile lovable losers into a corporate Disney theme park attraction. Cub themed Disneyland in Wrigleyville Wow dude. Even the most fervent of White Sox fans have accepted the reality that the Cubs are likely not one and done.
  17. Turns out the Cubs were significantly better on the road in the WS. So the "dumbest thing" banana hammock had ever heard, was factual. Told you so. Congrats Cubs.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) I ain't sayin' that. But females aren't typically as angry and vicious as you when it comes to sports. Other stuff? Yeah. Sports? No. Pretty sexist.
  19. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Thanks. He's always been very arrogant and condescending in his posts. Acts as if he is superior to everyone else here when actually he's just a coward and troll.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 10:02 PM) It's more funny that people thought Hahn was a legit GM candidate after Hendry left Well if JR would can Kenny, we might actually know what kind of GM Rick is.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 10:01 PM) Man, deadpool ain't no female. I refuse to believe it. Right, because I should be in the kitchen, right? Women don't know how to use computers and they don't understand baseball, right?
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:59 PM) I'm upset. Because our organization did nothing but stupid s*** as the Cubs were pathetic and rebuilding the right way. The Cub rebuild finally ended at a time the Sox suck. EXACTLY. I am so mad at the Sox organization right now.
  23. What a douche. Talking about the Cubs in the Cubs thread. Total douchebag. And my sex and my orientation are none of your business.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) Cubs fans on TV looking stunned Can you blame them?
  25. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) I've watched every Cleveland playoff game but one and they have impressed me more than the Cubs have this postseason to be honest. Whether or not they can sustain that level of play is obviously the big question, but if they do they will give the Cubs all they can ask for. Me too. Both because I expected less from them and the fact that they lost ONE GAME
